Syril Starr Maybe we should do something where all the SeeDs are being hunted down and we're the only one's who haven't been captured and killed. There could be some imposter SeeDs who are going on murderous rampages and that's why the military is after us. This sounds like a good plot idea. Perhaps our old friend Draven can go on some killings in SeeD's name, piss off a bunch of people who already hate Garden (namely Galbadia).
Doing it that way could set up some introspective, as now that Rinoa is a member of SeeD, General Caraway is inclined to be a lot more cautious when dealing with SeeD.
So when the G-Army makes plans to invade and take over Garden, General Caraway opposes it, knowing in his heart that Rinoa wouldn't condone the type of wholesale slaughter that Draven is causing in SeeD's name. However, Galbadia doesn't see it that way, and he's ousted from his position.
So the G-Army marches to Balamb, and attacks, while Squall's away in Esthar attending that meeting between the headmasters of the Gardens. The PC SeeDs/students escape after a big battle that does heavy damage to the Garden. And Galbadia is left in control of Garden. They can also try to take over Balamb as well.
Now, at this point, the actions of the surviving SeeDs and students can fracture them into two groups: the group that thinks it'd be best for them to escape and regroup, and the group that wants to turn Balamb Garden into Galbadia's Iraq. I think it'd be better for a little time spent with both groups trying to convince the other that they're right, then they both give up and go on their own business.
As for the guerilla group, it'd be best for them to divide into smaller groups that stage their raids out of the forest east of Garden, the Fire Cavern, or the mountains to the north of Garden. We can say that they have caverns in the mountains (it's a natural assumption) for them to strike out of.
As for the other group, they could scatter to the winds and go into hiding all over the world.
Then Squall returns, finds Garden under Galbadia's control, and things can go from there. That's really as far as I've thought into it...

Morestuff for plot mentioned over AIMs w/ Rinoa, Zell, and Syril:
After the two factions of SeeD figure out that they're not going to change each others' mind, the guerilla faction helps the runaway faction escape by attacking the G-Army unit that tries to bring the town under control, turning the sleepy seaside village into the bloodiest urban combat zone this side of Karbala. In the chaos, the runaway group escapes via harbor and the underwater train tunnel.
After that, the G-Army brings in reinforcements, pushes the guerilla faction out of the city, and puts it under military control 10x worse than what was seen during the occupation in Disc 2. Some of the guerilla faction stays in the woods near Balamb to continue making attacks, with the help of the townspeople.
The remainder go back to the mountains and forests surrounding Garden, and continue with their hit-and-run tactics. During one such raid, they get into the Garden, and destroy the classrooms to prevent Galbadia from getting their hands on the GFs. The guerilla faction also sets up shop in the Fire Cavern, where the G-Army will learn very quickly they shouldn't go. Because the first time they try to storm the cave, Ifrit shows up and blasts the s**t out of the Bucketheaded Bitches.
And that's about all the extra stuff, except for Squall going to Timber and learning of the occupation there.
But we need to get on this, guys. Nick needs to be on so I can tell him to have Draven start causing some general mayhem.

So, Chris, what's the verdict on me? SeeD or Galbadia? I'll leave the choice up to you.
