I realized something today. Me and my mom got into an argument (which is not too serprizing) and it was about that if they died tomarrow? I have no basic life skills to take care of my self cause nobody really taught me (not even the schools). I can sew o.k., make jewery, play the flute and saxophone, and learn a language, but I can't cook, I can't do the bills, can't drive, not good with people (never was, most people picked on me in school when I was little),ect...I have no enegery to do anything. I'm not sure if that is depression or this illness I had for awhile ( it's something I was told to live with but I have to be careful what I eat and try to deduce stress). Am I the only like this?

I think you could qualify for the position of street hippy in Austin Texas. Sewing, jewlery making and playing a random instrument. Yep, youd do well!

I guess so xd My uncle lives there

Well, right now, I can't do anything around the house. I'm sick and when I do too much, I get worse. So I do what I can. I can clean a little bit. I'm trying to learn how to cook. I have HORRIBLE anxiety when it comes to talking to people, but I forced myself to start doing it more often. What illness is it, if you don't mind me asking? It's not your mom's fault, that much is certain. It sounds more like you've got something going on that's keeping you from learning the skills you need.

One thing I know for sure, I hate saying this is IBS, that the phsyical illness. Caused mainly by stress and most young woman around my age get it (around the age when people need to learn that stuff, collage, that's when people panic and stress the most) and for the other things I don't know. The reason I don't cook is because I HATE fire, long story. But I have to learn it. Alot I guess has to do with fear and anxiety.

You live in Austin? I've got a friend from near Austin; She's from Pluegerville.

Not that I'm silly enough to guess that you know her. But still, that's kinda cool.

As for your stuff icemaiden, my mom pretty much started me on that stuff six months before I left for college, and the stuff she didn't teach me I just learn on the way.

Most stuff isn't that hard; For cooking, as long as you get over your fire-phobia, you just follow the directions on the box or in the recipe book. Heck, there's a lot of stuff that only need a microwave, which I wouldn't think would be covered by the fire-thing. sweatdrop

What I did was found things to keep me comforted. I'm afraid of people, but when I need to do a people thing, I call up my friend first and talk to her a little bit and it sorta makes it easier. Mmm, I used to be so nervous about fire. So of course, stupid me decided to burn things for awhile. Always over water, but looking back on it, it was a really dumb thing to do. It helped though, if you have a way to deal with a controlled fire, you might be able to get over that fear. It sounds like you've got a lot of stress or something. You could try sticking to things that don't require a stove or an oven for a little while if you want to try cooking but the fire throws you off. You could use a tea kettle or if that's too firey, boil water in the microwave, for things that require boiling water. You'd be pretty limited in what you could make, but it wouldn't be impossible.

There are also stoves that don't have open flames; In fact, it seems fairly rare these days to have good old fashioned gas powered stoves. Some don't even have those swirly things to heat them, they just have a whole panel that's flush with the rest of the stove that heats up.

Personally, I love fire. sweatdrop If it weren't for the fact that there's a water sprinkler right about my computer, I might buy a lighter just because I think that fire is pretty.

The only problem with calling is, I only have one good friend and he wasn't been answearing or calling back, don't know where he is at the moment. I can bake and stuff that's not a problem (though i'm picky so I wouldn't eat most of the stuff people bake). I make make simple stuff. Yah I have alot stress and pressure on me at the moment and tend to panic when that happens.

I guess ours is kind of old, it's one of gas range ones. It's open flame pretty much ( I hate fire cause I saw some things when I was little. a neiborgs house on fire and a car on fire and that was the first time I really saw fire. I know they can be controlled). Even if I wasn't afaird, I don't care much for cooking sweatdrop

I don't like fire much either, my water heater caught on fire with me in the room with it...very scary! I'm a pretty decent cook(I make a mean meatball) but my husband is the true chef. Oli makes everything taste yummy!

Choice is Education, Access and Freedom

Choice means the right of each person to control their own life. It means that you can decide whether or not you have sex, whether or not you are pregnant, and when and if you have children -- and that no one can make those choices for you. In order to make these decisions for ourselves, we need education about our options, access to reproductive health services regardless of where we live or how much money we make, and the freedom to make our decisions without government interference.

How the heck do you decide whether or not you're pregnant? I think I'll try that. *concentrates* Ha! I'm pregnant! Without sex! Oh I rock. Uh oh, I have no income. Better concentrate again. *concentrates* Okay, there, I'm not pregnant anymore.

When you abort, it's not like you were never pregnant. You freaking end an existing pregnancy.
