ChainsawDooM, thanks for the tweaking. I think you did a good job.
How ironic to me, Hazu... I have drank any alcohol since the glass of wine New Year's Eve, but I just had a strawberry colada last night!
Aw, no... now Chain's got that song stuck in my head!
Is there certain songs that you just love to sing? or that just get stuck in your head as soon as you hear it?
I also had the most awesomest seafood platter last night (my fav is the fried catfish followed by the shrimp) and then went and watched Paul Blart Mall Cop... it was entertaining, not quite as stupid as I thought it would be- an enjoyable experience.
But that's just my taste in movies,... I love a good laugh, and it being a Happy Madison production, I figured it was worth a shot.
Is it strange that I like my music angry? and my television educational? and my reading... hmmm... I guess that an anything goes, cuz I'll read just about anything if it's good.

.. I didn't really tweak except for a few changes in "dreams" and moving the huggles and glomps thread out. I just said which ones were active so people would know which ones to visit. I didn't say anything about any subforum that's owned by somebody... because I felt that's not my job to change those.
We do need to decide what to do about the dead subforums, though. Thread Graveyard should probably stay, just so we have somewhere to move stuff that doesn't matter anymore without deleting it.
The whole sub-forum thing would have worked a lot better if Gaia actually changed those little .gifs next to them to tell you if there are new posts...

True that would really have helped. It is hard to tell if anything is going on in the sub-forums unless you poke in. I think introductions should be on the main page too, most other guilds have them on the main page.
I definitely felt better after the chocolate and daquri. I ended up falling asleep until late this morning, it was nice to relax. smile

If you want me to do that, I have a good idea of how it can be done well. I'd have to move the movie quotes threads somewhere, though... Activities or the thread graveyard are all that come to mind...
I can get started on moving the intro thread, now though. If you don't like it, I can put everything back.

arrow The "Introduction Rules" announcement from the "Introductions" subforum has been copied and inserted into the first post of the now renamed "Introductions" sticky in the main forum. The announcement was then moved to the "Tread Graveyard"
arrow The "Favorite Movie Quote of 2007" thread has been moved from the "Introductions" subforum to the "Activities" subforum

A few others might be able to be compressed under Activites if y'all think more needs to be done...
Chainsaw, You might need to pm me on how to move things around... You think Secret Santa's ready for the Graveyard, or leave it there for next Christmas?

I was actually thinking about "Secret Santa" when I was organizing yesterday. I figured it should either go into the graveyard or "Activities."
I was also wondering if "The Music Score of You!" and "In My Pants (The Music Version)" should go into "Activities" ... That's where they should probably go, but I have a feeling that that might kill them ... which is no big loss for "The Music Score of You!" because it is practically dead already, but "In My Pants" is still chugging along slowly.

I was really kind of... I guess trying to get things out of subforums so they'd be more active, rather than putting more things into them... but since a lot of people still go to the "Activities" subforum, I'm not sure.

... I think "Secret Santa" can safely go to the activities section... No... no... It should go to the graveyard, because it'd be easier if we just made a new one each year (with a date label)... I forsee it becoming confusing with the posts that are already in it if we reuse it each year.

Technically, "Laissez le Bon temp rouler" should go in the special occasions subforum... but since that would likely kill it, it should stay where it is until after Mardis Gras is over. Then I suppose it could move to special occasions... or... thread graveyard... uh...
Actually, I really don't think we should have a Special Occasions subforum, now that I think about it... We're more likely to do that stuff in the main forum and then move it to the graveyard when we're done, right? Having that thread graveyard really removed the need for a lot of the other subforums, with keeping old stuff.
I don't know... what do you guys think? I don't see us really using that subforum all that much, especially if we look at how things've happened in the past.
I don't know if that means we should get rid of it or start doing more things in it that are supposed to be in it. I'd rather move more things into the main forum, personally, because it'd get more traffic then.
The way I see it, we gave a whole lot of things subforums when they didn't really need them.
"Activities" needs to be a sub-forum.
"Thread Graveyard" needs to be a subforum.
"Videos in the Internet," while I guess it doesn't need to be a subforum, it probably makes it easier that it is...
If we ever role-played, Role-playing" would need to be a subforum, too.
And, people's personal subforums need to be there. However, the ones that are never used we need to do something about... but after we fix everything else.
"Dreams" could just be a single thread, I think... I screwed that one over when I made it, I think.
"Poetry, Photography, Art, & More" could probably be a thread, or multiple threads... I'm 50-50 on that one; I'd have to get some more input.
"Make a Wish" could be condensed into a single thread fairly easily.
I don't think Special Occasions needs to exist at all, as we've seemed to just make individual threads in the main forum and then move them to the graveyard after we're done.
Those are my thoughts for right now.

Dreams - Make it a thread
Poetry, Photography, Art, & More - Possibly subforum, possibly One or more threads
Make a Wish - thread
Special Occasions - Kill the subforum. Make new topics in main forum and move to graveyard after they get old.
Equinox Party - should stay where it is, just like it is, because it's reused often and builds on itself..
