She giggled a little and shoved his arm lightly, "I know, I'm only teasing."
When he took her hand and kissed it like he always seemed to do, she shook her head a little at his insistent chivalry, "Always with such flattery. It's not necessary you know, especially seeing as it's not true. The room was just as bright before I got here, especially once you opened those curtains."
She took her hand back once he had released it from his grasp. She couldn't help but absentmindedly touch the place he had kissed with her other hand, her smiled widening a little. She looked around the room to see that none of the nurses were nearby before looking back to him again with a more serious and concerned expression.
"I am actually here for health," she said quietly before adding hastily, "-- but not my own."

"Window only did half work," Mishka returned gravely, insisting that Liv did something to lighten the room for everyone. It was honesty too-- to him the world did seem a little brighter with such a radiant young woman in his presence, and her smile did very little to deter his feelings on the subject. His grey eyes sparkled pleasantly, quite happy to bring such a lovely reaction from the young woman.
However, as her expression changed he became concerned, and as she started to speak his concern only grew, wondering what could be ailing her so. He noted how she didn't seem to want anyone to hear her words and hushed his own response. "Oh?" He asked gently, then took her hand carefully in his own to lead her over to a near by corner that had a bed near to it, where he drew the curtain around it to block some of the sound of their voices from echoing around the quite solitude. "You look... how to say..." he hummed gently, taking the hand he was still holding and cupping it inside both of his with a gentle, comforting pat. "concern. Very serious, to put such look on face, yes? Who?"

When Mishka's expression turned just as grave at Kyle's had earlier, she bit her lip. She didn't mean to make him worry so much, and she tried to fix it the best she could, "No, it's nothing...well no, it's not nothing. Don't look at me like that because I didn't meant to concern you so much...please," she placed her free hand over his and patted gently.
She turned her head to follow the curtain as he slid it shut, blinking a little and then clearing her throat, "It's...Kiah's father. I learned today that he's very, very sick. I have no idea what ails him, I don't even know...I don't really know much, actually. Not even any symptoms...," she stared off behind him, her eyebrows furrowing a little.
She shook her head again and waved her hand as if to say 'anyway', "But I think you're wonderful, and I know you can help. The Order funds these things sometimes, you know, healthcare for family members..," she sighed a little and closed her eyes, rubbing her forehead, "She doesn't know...she doesn't even know he's sick, Mishka.."

His concern eased, but it was replaced by the slightest hint of sadness where his eyebrows creased gently in the middle, his eyes soft. He hadn't meant to fluster her, but how could he not be concerned when she came in speaking of ill health and yet brought no patient with her? He wondered for a moment if it was her child that was ill, which made his stomach squirm uncomfortably to think of. The distress of a child was a terrible thing and he never wanted any mother to go through that.
The truth of the situation caught him slightly off-guard, remembering Kiah as the nice young woman who had been in the infirmary a few weeks back with a gunshot wound to the side. The nice blonde one with the lovely blue eyes and far too much energy for a young woman who needed to be on bed rest, and how the Head Nurse had told him to watch out for her little Italian friend and the red-haired young man with the eyepatch, both notorious for skipping people out from under her watch.
He made a slighty concerned noise, one that admitted to understanding. "Very unfortunate," he said softly, having no reason to doubt the young woman's words. He wondered why no one had informed Kiah of her fathers health condition, for if it was as dire as Liv's worry indicated the young woman would surely like to see her father in case there were no second chances left. "If you think I can help, and will ease Ms. Liv's heart, I will free of charge. I take test to become doctor in few days, then maybe Order will allow trip. Where is sick father of Kiah's?"

She let a very relieved sigh escape her lips and let a smile grace her face again, "Thank you...so, so much," she stood on her toes and wrapped her arms around his neck in thanks. She couldn't help but briefly notice the nice feeling it gave her, but she pulled back when he asked the question she didn't know the answer to.
"Where..is he? Oh..I don't even know," she laughed, "I just learned all this from her childhood friend. He's a new Exorcist here. He went to talk to Komui about it, and I came to see if you would help. I'm sure he'll fill us in on everything," she was talking a little fast and much brighter now that she knew he was going to help any way he could. She even started to believe that maybe everything would turn out right after all, like Kyle said.

Mishka was quite surprised as Liv suddenly wrapped her arms along his shoulders, growing ever-so-slightly hot at the touch. He hadn't much experience with women outside of his family, though despite this fact he gently placed his hands on her back to return the gesture with one of his own. As she pulled back his hands ghosted along the curve of it before being drawn back to his sides where they soon dove into his pockets out of loneliness. It was a rather pleasant feeling to hold her and he would have smiled brighter if he were not concerned over the seemingly grave situation.
"No need to thank. It is job, but..." he trailed off, looking in her hopeful eyes, his heart dropping down into his stomach at the idea of possibly removing that feeling from her. "I may not be able to help, Ms. Liv. Illness sometime only in God's hands, not doctor's," he shook his head gently, not wanting to give her false hope where there was none. He touched her cheek in a gentle brush, as if trying to hold that goodness on her features for a little longer before the reality of his words took it away. "I will do best I can."

"No..I know," she said softly to make sure he didn't feel too much pressure, "I don't expect you to work magic.."
Her eyes caught on his hand as he lifted it towards her cheek, and then they flitted to his face. She kept her smile and a slight rosiness crept beneath her cheeks at the touch, "I know you'll do everything that you can."
She stood there for a little longer and then cleared her throat a quietly, breaking eye contact. She patted her skirt and then grasped his hand for one last squeeze, "Really, thank you," she left his fingers go slowly and then changed the subject, "Are you nervous about your exam?"

At the same time, Mishka also broke eye contact out of embarrassment, feeling anything but secure in front of the beautiful young woman. He wondered briefly if the young man Kyle might have been one of her suitors, one of the many she likely had being such a lovely little thing.
"Exam? Yes... very... very... very nervous," Mishka said with a shaky laugh, thankful for the subject change. "I am very lucky, because test in Latin, not English. I must become doctor first try, so Liv does not have to remember 'almost-doctor,'" he chuckled gently, sliding the curtain back to reveal the room again. No one seemed to notice their absence. "How... are you?" He said, putting a real effort into using the proper phrase, not the one that sounded right in his own tongue. "And little girl, Luci, yes?"

"I'm sure you'll get the best score they've ever seen," she smiled and tried to boost his confidence, stepping back into the main area of the ward.
"Me? I'm alright. The same as always, really. I don't have too much to complain about," she shrugged her shoulders lightly.
"Luci is still at her father's house. I've been meaning to see about bringing her here to live with me...," she said a little apprehensively, "I...can't say I'm thrilled about having to talk to her father for any reason really, let alone this. I know he'll hate the idea, he loves her to death. But I think he would understand that she really should be with me, for..reasons. I'm her mother after all. I do miss her...," her eyes softened at the thought of her bright little girl.

((WELCOME HOME JOHN. LIV DISTRACTED ME WITH FEELS.))
"Girl needs her mother," Mishka agreed gently, knowing this to be a universal truth in life. A child needs their mother, and it was a shame for one to be deprived of her mother when it wasn't necessary. It was too common place in the Order. At her apprehensive tone, he gently placed a friendly hand on her slender shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "If you need anything, please. I will help. I am not big guy, with muscles, but I am tall and can pretend to be scary. I am Russian. Reputation very handy." He smiled gently at her, trying to cheer her up a little bit. Though he didn't know the situation with Liv's ex-beau, he certainly hoped it was not one that would get her injured in the process of retrieving her child.
