( Dll !! She comes back. ; n; )
She felt uncomfortable sitting on the bed in the infirmery. She watched Kanda handle the wound. "Yu-nii?" she glanced at her lap shyly, "Since we probably won't be playing tag after this do you think..well.." her cheeks flushed, "Do you think you could teach me to play chess? Like you said you would a while back?"

(( Well that makes sense. We know how Hoshino loves to resurrect everyone so that would be pretty canon. xD ))
He continued to tend to the wound and didn't answer until he had finished.
"Alright."
He looked up at her and patted her good knee before standing up. He moved to a nearby sink and washed his hands after tossing away the dressing packages.
"Let's get something to eat first."

( ; w; That's true )
She smiled and nodded, " 'kay" She stood up, testing her leg a bit. It didn't hurt too bad now, but the fact that it wasn't healing nagged at her still. A little sigh left her before she walked over next to Kanda and gripped his sleeve, ready to go.

He looked down at her and hesitated, but took her hand in his and headed for the kitchen. When they got there, he prepared them both bowls of soba noodles. He sat down and started to munch on his.

She blinked down at the soba before she started to eat.

He wasn't very good at making conversation, especially during meal time, so he continued to eat and watch her.

She ate happily, although since she was a kid she wasn't the neatest of eaters.

He just shook his head at the mess she made, clearing his place when he was finished eating. He waited for her to finish too, and then helped her to clean up the area.
"Let's go."
He headed back for his room.

(( I'm glad I actually know how to play chess. xD ))
When they got back to his room he pulled a chess set from his dresser, placing it on a small table. It was wooden and box-shaped and unfolded. The pieces were kept inside, and he started to set them up after opening the board. He pulled the chair Chaoe had used earlier up to the small table, and then got another chair from his bedside for himself.
"Sit here," he told her has he sat in his own chair.
"The white pieces will be yours and the black pieces will be mine. Chess is a game of strategy, so don't get upset if you don't understand it at first."

He picked up one of the pawns.
"This is called a pawn. The pawn is like a basic soldier. A pawn can move forward one square at a time, in a straight line, as long as the square isn't already taken. A pawn can move forward two squares only on the first time it is being moved. A pawn can never move backwards. The only way for a pawn to capture an opponent's piece is by moving forward one square diagonally."
He demonstrated everything he explained.
"Do you understand?"

(( Do I actually need to go through all the pieces? xD ))
"Good. Don't forget, never underestimate the pawn. They might be the lowest rank, but they can end up taking the King in the end if you aren't careful."
He picked up the King next.
"While we're on the subject: The King can move one space at a time, in any direction. The King is said to be 'in check' when an opponent's piece is in a position where on the next move, if the King is not moved, they are capable of capturing the King. If your King is put in check, you have to move him or you forfeit the game. Checkmate is when you cannot move your King to any position without putting him in check. Do you understand?"

(I've never played chess before xD; But you don't need to, since I doubt Chaoe's gonna be able to take it all in on the first go. )
She made a confused face, "I-I think so.." This game seemed to be a lot more difficult then she had anticipated. Maybe she should have asked to play something else...like the tonguetwister game.
