She flushed a bit, "Ah, well.."
She glanced at the paper before holding it up so he could see, "I drew my hometown...well, the house I lived in when I was younger. We didn't really live near the town."
She pointed at the faceless people, "I also drew my papa and mother." Her hands were trembling a little, though she did her best to control it.

He pursed his lips behind the book and sighed through his nose. He could see she was trembling despite her trying to control it, and he thought he probably knew why. He tried not to think about what he had seen and heard before Chaoe's return, but it was a hard thing to erase. He cleared his throat and disappeared behind the book again.
"Do you like flowers?"

She fidgeted a bit before nodding. "Yes, I love flowers."
She smiled fondly, "Yuuka, you know what that name means?"
She played with a few strands of her hair shyly, smile blooming.
"The 'Yuu' stands for gentleness or superiority while the 'ka' stands for flower. Papa always called me his precious little flower. Although it was embarassing, I miss it.." She glanced down at the drawing.
"But...for some reason things are getting hazy. I can't really remember things as well as I could before." Her grip on it tightened, "I can't remember their faces at all." Her eyes saddened before she looked up at Kanda with an awkward smile.
"Yu-nii, do you like flowers?"

He was about to respond to her answer when she continued to talk. His mouth hung open for a second before he closed it, listening to her short story about her father. He smiled a little until she mentioned being unable to remember anymore.
"..Come look at the pictures in this book with me. You'll like them," he didn't answer her question.

She blinked and stood up before walking over. She crawled up next to him and stared at the page, face almost instantly turning into one of wonder. "Wow~ They're so pretty!" She smiled in excitment, she had never seen such flowers before.
