He waved it off, "It's perfectly fine dear."
He blinked before smiling again, "Alright then, Miss Kiah..a pleasure to meet you."
He looked back at the window, "Yes, I guess I really don't come around here that often...you see, i'm usually with...a certain person." A fond smile made its way onto his face, mentioning this person.
He stood up and bowed, "My name is Rei, and this-" he held up the kappa doll, "-i'm holding onto it until the owner shows up. You see?"
He made the doll turn its head to the side cutely and waved its arms a bit, "It means a lot to not just the owner, but myself as well."

"I wonder.." He looked up at the cieling, smile fading a little.
"I bought it for her, it was a gift for her fifth birthday." He closed his eyes and hummed a bit, remembering the day with another fond smile.
"She had always said she wanted a doll, not a girly one she said but something still cute in its own way. She was so happy when she opened it- that smile was enough to last me days- no, a lifetime surely.."

Listening to the story quietly, Kiah couldn't keep the question to herself any longer, even if it could be potentially dangerous. There was no way that the little girl could be anyone else, to her knowledge.

"And the little girl... was her name Chaoe?" she asked tentatively, worried that she was giving away information. Kiah was sure that the man was harmless, but she'd been wrong to trust a lot of people in her lifetime.

Rei's face contorted into a horribly pained expression, he looked like he was about to cry.
"Ah, well..." he smiled sadly, "Some things happened and she was forced to change it during her stay at the North American branch of the order."

Kiah cringed at the mention of the North American branch. She hadn't been in a very high position at the time so she hadn't known anything was going on until she'd moved to the European Branch. Most of what she has to go off of are horrible rumors, however, so even now she didn't know what to believe.

"I'm sorry I brought it up," she answered, not wanting to visibly upset him anymore than necessary. "So how do you know Chaoe?"

"Ah, well you see.." he glanced outside again and smiled warmly.
"Yuuka is my daughter, my only child to be exact.." His eyes saddened, "yes...my precious daughter. My sunshine..my brave and kindhearted flower.."
A tear escaped and trailed down his cheek, "She really does look like her mother- I never...I never meant for any of this to happen- not to her."
His grip on the doll tightened, "I wish she could see me..I really do, and if only she would forgive herself.."
He sat back down in the chair and held his head in his hands, weeping. "If only I wasn't so weak- if only I had tried a little harder. She wouldn't be here in this place, fighting with such a pained face. She'd be back home in that flower field laughing and singing. Like a child should be. Oh- why did I do what I did?"

Blood started seeping through the mid-section of his yukata. Staining it red.
