Joasis TweedleKeys RaeRae Rave TweedleKeys RaeRae Rave 4laugh I just purchased mine and Zero's train tickets to San Jose - it's official, Fanime is on. Neato! What day are you getting in? We leave on the morning of Friday, May 23rd (so we'll be a day late). We'll be staying at Zely's =3 *excited*Well, the con does start on Friday after all, so sounds like you'll be about on time. I've never taken the train between SoCal and NoCal. (Though I really would like to see a bullet train put in.) I have taken it from LA to SD though. I think Diffy is jealous of your trip. How long is the ride? There was an aritcle in the San Francisco Cronicle a few months back on the pros and cons of a bullet train bridging the Cals. Something about the pottential revenue wouldn't really be seen until sometime after 2020 due to the high price of it. I would love to have one though, I'd be able to bother Meg, er, Zelo and chill at his place.Yeah I'm not really concerned about instant revenue so much. I don't even think it would necessarily be any cheaper than flying. However, I think it would be better for the environment and it would 'get there' in terms of the monetary issues. (Plus, it might be faster too given how early you need to get to the airport and such...)

RaeRae Rave Hay guys! surprised It's nowhere near finished as a sketch (still have to add in Stream's bunny-ears, finish Bart, Zero, and PG, then add in Zely, Tsu, and Ash), but here is what I have so far of that drawing.
I'm hoping color will make it more obvious, and I'll perfect a bit as I go, but from left to right it's: Top: Unfinished Zero, unfinished PG, Psy/Dill, Mala, Jo, Musuu, Nabs, me, Kin (and junior eventually), Hila, Stream, Luna Bottom: Xya, Pi, unfinished Bart, Skizz, Keys.
I wanted everyone standing at first, but then I realized there's no way it'd fit Dx
@Keys: It's about 10 hours the way up, and 11 the way back. It'll be long, but I'm looking forward to seeing a little bit along the way (I love traveling just to watch the scenery).
Oooh~
Loverly jurb, mai deer! heart

Joasis Heh, I thought someone would make that joke. xp
No, it's nothing sexual, I just think people in animal suits are awesome. Now...people that paint their bodies and wear wigs. . .they're like clowns. Scary. Do. Not. Want. crying Cloooowns. gonk
Mala does not like furries. At all. gonk But I do love mascots. I guess it's the difference between them being lovable reminders of childhood versus creepy perverts who do naughty thing in their suits. ...
But mascots are good. crying

Atemu Musuu 3.14 Atemu ...why is the neighbor kid giving me dead tadpoles? He likes yeeew. 3nodding I would understand a little boy giving me dead tadpoles, I'll admit. But this one is a girl and last time I checked, little girls typically do not like dead slimy things... let alone give them to other people. Maybe she's a witch in practice and just gave you her first curse! It's a very special time in her life, rejoice. 4laugh

Well it'd definitely be cheaper than flying and it'll be way better for the environment considering the commuting hours people spend trying to get into the Bay Area, but in terms of revenue I mean getting over the hump of the cost to put it there in the first place. Cali isn't in the best of financial shapes at the moment with budgets cuts across the board, killing edjumacation and making kids all dumbified. It'll be a b***h to pay for and we won't get out of the hole till sometime in 2020 so they(can't remember who) say it isn't worth the price of infrastructure. Although with gas prices the way they are... maybe a return to rail might be a good thing.

My brother and I had a conversation a while back on an article he read about a survey they took at a children's hospital, they were remodeling the place and they asked kids what themes they liked best. Clowns were at the very bottom, no one likes clowns anymore. We started to get into why and came up with clowns being just adults dressed as buffoons that degrade themselves for amusement. Sure that's a little cynical, but that's what it came down to. That isn't entertainment for children, that seems like entertainment for adults. Anyone up for a strip club? surprised
Also, back to the topic. Yes, mascots are good. 3nodding

There's talk about that around here too..but I guess it'll be bad because all the jobs would move to where the train goes, and the town I'm in would become full of old people and no businesses would be around and it'd be hard to find a job here.
