Well... I always start off with a circle. Doesn't have to be perfect and not dark. Then I draw the jaw and chin into a point and start on the eyes.
A teacher once told me that the eyes are the most important thing to draw when drawing a human. If you screw those up, or draw them last, the picture becomes pretty scrambled and messy.
So draw the eyes after you draw the face. For this picture for Theo, I sketched a cross on the blank face and worked out where his eyes would be.

From there on I guessed. The lips were pretty hard... But next to Beo, you'd see he was totally uke. ;3;
I mean, Beo totally tops Theo...
