You know how much farms I make? On the server, there's a mod called MCMMO. I am the top at herbalism by a good bit. And I'm not on as often as other players are.

I don't use mods. I don't know how to get them working. I do make automatic farms.

Usually, so long as the mod doesn't add any actual block or mob, no. So, runecraft, MCMMO, movecraft, flymod(which I disapprove of, but to each their own), etc, etc...

ive never played a game of minecraft long enough to set a autofarm up yet, but i was working on one at one point before things went horribly wrong. anywho, though. if i had a specialty in minecraft, itd be.... probably making contraptions with redstone. like making machines that will build up walls and floors of a structure so i can go collect more material to make more machines.
as for mods, ive never been in a situation where i could use a mod before, but once i get minecraft myself, (been a few delays, irritatingly.) i think theres a mod i have to try. the Aether mod.

ugh... redstone... one thing i could never wrap my head around, besides connecting a door to a switch or something, but you have people that go an make a in-game piano O-o... "shakes head about" something i would never get to full understand...

same here, puppet.
and ya... i am still learning though. for example, i dont know how to inverse a current to turn off when you hit a pressure pad. thats why i usually build a redstone testing room once i have the materials. course, i also build it whenever possible so it will repair itself in case i test TNT in the room...

Congratu-freaking-lations.
...
You don't need to invert the flow for most things. You can usually use a piston to turn on and off flow as per your necessities. Just have the pressure plate power a piston which shuts off teh current.
