"Papers to be on our own hm? I suppose you're just giddy over that...it was always one of your biggest gripes. Though with that responsibility...please be good A'mael? Don't raise hell just because you're the one who gets the full blame. I'd rather not have you in Crest lock up because you wanted to spite someone else and didn't have to risk the parents to do so." Shaking her head lightly at him. Looking to their son again before holding out her brush to the toddler. "Your hair is a mess."
He looked at the brush a moment before little hands took it and he looked between mommy and daddy a moment as if surveying again. Another look to the brush before he took to brushing his hair in awkward toddler way, or at least attempting to.
He kissed her back before picking her up like he usually did when she requested such things and thusly he took her upstairs to her room and made sure to fulfil her requests to the best of his ability which was no hard job for him anyway. She needed to be loved and he'd love her inthat way that only he could every make her feel loved.
"I know a place like that. Where my grandparents live...it's a more or less closed plane so there's not a lot of travel in or out. We're allowed in because we're family and any friends we wish to bring with us to can come." It was practically prime opportunity to ask her to go, but he didn't want to push just yet. "Yeah, even you knew me before I'd ever met you. But I suppose it's just something I have to deal with."

"Yes yes. no being evil and wicked and devilish just because I won't get kieran in trouble. and more news from andal...Kieran has had a fever the last day apparently. I told fianna when we get to andal I'll be visiting him, no matter what overbearing self-righteous old elf gets in the way."
A look at his son, before gently taking the brush out of his hand, and brushing his hair himself.
"So come on, spill the beans on Keely. heard anything new?"

"A fever...that's never good." Fevers always meant things were bad...or maybe it was a case of things getting worse before they get better. Or at least she'd like to think so...after all, she didn't need to think about her father going and doing something like dying. "Maybe he'll be well by then." Did not like this subject at all. Which was why she was happy he wanted to delve into the lives of others again. "Nothing new really, they're just as they always were. Of course that more or less implies everything we enjoyed when you finally got me. I think it's fine to let her indulge in her own life than making her watch the kids all the time. Besides we can always get someone else to babysit, Keely doesn't make the best playmate for the little ones anymore."
A little confused noise a moment as the brush was taken from him but he settled easily as his father went about doing what he was supposed to be doing but wasn't doing a good job of it apparently. but not fussing, still watching though.

"Closed plane...it sounds lovely. Your own place of solitude and whatnot." Giving a smile at the girl who brought her soup. At the very least this would give them something to focus on to keep things from getting awkward. "You're a very important person. It kind of makes things like this...hard. But it can't be all bad, right? There have to be perks." This wasn't coming out right was it? Time for a change of subject. "I..am glad you picked me for some reason. I don't know why you did." Pausing and wondering if it was okay to ask such a thing. "Why...why did you?"

"Then maybe it's time we found her a more suitable job around the place to do. one that wouldn't be so demanding on her time. If she's acting as our nanny, I would expect her to be willing and able to put in the time for it."
Brushing his son's hair nicely.
"What do you think of this Kaelin girl?"

"Being popular is hard sometimes, hm?" He wouldn't understand that seeing as he wasn't popular so much as renowned in name as Malik's son and tournament runner up. But he held in a frown as things seemed to be going down hill again...why couldn't he get this right? Was he not reading signals well and making things bad or something? "I never try to let my name get in the way of myself personally..." Tending to his food for a moment to occupy himself. What kind of question was that? "It...wasn't like I was out shopping for you or someone like you Kaelin, and I didn't come to public school just to seek out girls either." Great, this was going to go just fantastic... "But you know...I just like you." Failing.
"Come now, Keely's been watching those kids since she was eleven. I think more than ten years watching little elves is more than enough to say she's put her time into it. She's an adult now and as much as I love her watching the kids she needs some of her own life too. And she's always there when she needs to be, I've just been giving her more time off now. But what would you have her do?" Tilting her head lightly. "The one who's buzzing around Malikhai? I don't know yet, we barely know her really. And when we say he at tournament her nerves were frazzled by worry."

"That's a good thing, I think. she was quite concerned about him."
then a shrug.
"I dunno. maybe helping to tend to the horses or the drathix. perhaps putting her in a more house cleaning type role. something that can give her the time you want to have off, without giving a look of shirking her duties. Not that I think she is, but I don't want people to think she's haughty or specially treated here and thus think she's some little, how do the humans put it. floozy? is that the word?"

"Not any harder than anything else. Those who are lonely are probably feeling the same way I do sometimes. Instead of wishing for solitude, they wish for someone to talk to. I wish I could befriend someone like that sometimes." She could tell that he wasn't comfortable with the question and shrugged. "I was just wondering. I know you probably thought I was crazy at tournament. My mom certainly did." Biting her lip as if she'd slipped and said too much, she shook her head. "I just keep hearing how lucky I might be, having caught the eye of Malikhai D'vinn. I don't really like to think of it that way though. Makes you seem like a big pile of steel and honor instead of just the boy that you are."

"Concerned yes she was. And yes it is a good thing, if she has good intentions that is. You have to admit the fact that people will try to cozy up to him and such to try and get in good with the House." Shaking her head lightly, that was perhaps the worst stigma that came with being well reknowned. But a roll of her eyes, "I can't believe you just said that. And she would have to be sleeping with you or Malikhai to be getting that kind of reputation for her 'special treatment'. But yes that is the word. Could always have her do my books for me. Saves the stress for me and she has a food head for numbers. Or you know, maybe we don't need her around here too much more."
"It's a double edged sword of some sorts. I mean I know what it's like to be alone and what it's like to be the center of attention...it's not really any brighter or more comforting on either side. More situational." Shaking his head lightly. "You weren't acting crazy. You had the right to be worried, I was getting my butt kicked badly in the end there." And that was a pain he wasn't soon to forget either...though maybe next year he'd come out on top, if he got through his father that is. "And mother's tend to overreact, it's part of what they do." Watching her body language, a tactic that had been taught to him when he was still very small...you had to know the target. Even if it was a girl you liked. "Well...in case you're wondering I'm nothing really special. My father's more or less named be heir to the lands he established but that's all really." The whole prince in Andal thing he never thought much on. After all...he wasn't even all prince yet. His mother was still a princess and his father was rightful prince."Good to think that you aren't willing to hang around me because of my name though." Made him smile really.

"Oh so floozy is whore terminology. good to know. and doing your books would be nice. and I'd prefer to keep her here. mostly because it's the best income she can get, and because discharging her would probably not do well for her getting other jobs. She's working out just fine."
A nod.
"I admit that fact...but she was very much worried about him. and she did seem to give him space, not trying to get in good words or introduce herself. which shows me that she's modest. and modest girls don't usually go for just money. Not to mention, no parents have been coming to get in nice and cozy with us."

"Yes, but I wasn't anyone important. Your parents had the right to see you at those points. Your parents and the Inthara's, too." She thought it better not to say anything about her mother and didn't really want to think of the woman right now, anyway. "That could come and go with the tide of battle. My uncle is king of Vesendar but what does that really mean?" Chewing on her lower lip for a moment and returning to her soup. She hadn't meant to tell him that; no one else knew that little tidbit about her. "I just think you should get to know someone because of who they are, not what they represent. Your skin coloring caught my eye at first but I think your manner drew me to you, or maybe it was the idea that you may not be who you seem to be. I found myself asking one day, 'is he really like that when it's just him? Or does he take the quieter role simply because Zykariel steals the other one?' It's an answer I've yet to find out."

"Out of all the human words you know that can be interchanged....you know floozy. Somehow, that is just oh so very very amusing to me." Giving a light laugh which seemed to perk up the little elf that Malik was holding, making him relax some as well as he watched his parents. "Well, she could always still work here and have her own place outside of here too. Options are open all around, we just have to pick the best ones. And find a replacement for the kid wrangler position." Leaning her head lightly against Malik's shoulder. "You know, that's kinda odd really...not meeting her parents or anything I mean. Even if she's not in it for the prestige and money, her parents would still want the good favor from us. Yet, nothing."
King of Vesendar, they had one of those? Hm, he hadn't been paying attention during talks about Vesendar again...he had the tendency to do that. Came from thinking he wouldn't fit in there so why worry about it and all. So what she was....kinda like royalty? "Everyone has a fun quirk about their family." He didn't like to get harped on about such things, and he guessed she didn't either. But a smile at her as she decided to speak up again. "I think you're absolutely right. So then, I'm intriguing to you then, that's what you're saying yes? That's a good thing to be to anyone. Though you've had me fooled. I thought you were miss Social Leader and enjoyed it to the fullest."

"Only reason I can think of is her parent's either don't know, or don't think they'd fit in well around us. and hey, the bulk of the humans I hung around to learn any human words were bar goers. So there."
A slight grin and a kiss on her forehead.
"We'll come to some arrangement, I'm sure. though I am going to want to at least meet this boy of Keely's. She's probably the closest thing to a sister our boys have had. and I won't have her put in a bad situation."

A fun quirk? Well, yes, she supposed she could call certain things about her family quirks, but many of them were very far from fun. "Everyone? What's yours?" And royalty didn't count as far as she was concerned. Nodding, she used a piece of bread to dip up the last of the gravy in her bowl and pushed it aside then settled back in the booth. "Everyone thinks I do because I want them to believe that. I like having all those friends even if I'm not entirely sure how they come to be. It's nice to know you have someone that looks to you for advice and help when things are going wrong in their lives. I try to help where I can and make life enjoyable for someone else."

"A lot of people don't fit around us. You made sure that's how it was, remember?" Shaking her head and giving a smile. "Bar goers hm? Well, I suppose that's better than some of the tmers that I've heard...humans can be down right disgusting and insulting." But she pulled back with another grin. "Now I know that I made a good pick when I picked her from the rest. I wouldn't ever expect you to say anything like that about a human."
"Oh well...there's some royalty in my family lines too." Saying it casually so they could pass over it quickly before he turned his attention back to his meal during the slight silences. But he gave a nod to what she as saying, the girl had some rather well formed ideas in her head that was for sure. "And that is even more admirable a thing and thought to live by Kaelin. It's no wonder people want to be around you."
