Gennosuke continued his training and stayed focused on his hand and making it glow with chakra. He concentrated hard on his palm to make the chakra appear over his hand. After a minute the chakra began to appear sparsely over his hand starting from his palm and spreading out to his fingers. Once his hand was fully covered for a minute or two he took a deep breath to break his focus and smiled.

Gennosuke after a minute of rest Gennosuke went back to focusing on the palm of his hand and trying to get through the chakra molding task. He kept a steady breath as he tried to make his chakra visible. A slight glow began to imminate from his hand again as his focus began to take effect. The glow spread over his hand slowly before making it to his fingers and stopping. Once he had held the light for a minute he finally stopped focusing and watched as the light faded.

Ninja Art: Water Form Technique
Hiru uses the free time on his hands while the other students are learning the basics of chakra control to give a shot at learning a new high ranked defensive jutsu.
DC: 13
Success: 14/18
Posts: 40/60

DC = 3 (fail)

Hiru started by getting in sync with his chakra system, completely blocking out all distractions that could come from the outside environment. He closed his eyes and slowly sunk down into the water. Very slowly, he could feel the chakra flowing through his body like a mighty river. He was soon going to be completely aware of his own chakra circulatory system.

DC = 1 (fail)

Of course, only a few months back, such an exercise would have taken Hirunearly hours to realize. However, his recent intensive Chakra Kyuin training had propleeled his awareness of his chakra system leagues ahead of what it once was. This, however, promised to be a very different challenge in itself.

DC = 9 (fail)

Indeed, Chakra Kyuin was a technique that controlled only the flow and intensity of chakra, otherwise known as form manipulation. However, the technique he was working on right was elemental manipulation; a field in which he had at best very limited experience. He did know how to generate modest amounts of water to glode and how to make water into a clone but nothing came close to this high level technique.

DC = 20 (pass)

Hiru let some of his chakra seep through the water surrounding him and then back into himself. He repeated this exercise for minutes, never moving, always standing perfectly still underwater while chakra indiscriminately went from his body to flows of the river and back, almost as if Hiru's own body now stretched as far and wide as the river bank itself.

DC = 9 (fail)

Slowly, Hiru let his chakra radiate less and less, until it was eventually limited only to his close vicinity. It is somewhat hard to explain, but as he was letting the chakra run faster and faster he tried forcing it to carry his body into the water as it left his body, and he tried to get it to carry water back into it as it came back in an effot to fuse with the element.

DC = 17 (pass)

Hiru realized at that moment why only pure water users could master this jutsu. The chakra in a ninja,s system wouldn't be able to go back and forth so indiscriminately if it was used to another element. It would generate a tension upon leaving and reentering the body that would make it impossible for the user to completely fuse with the water element.

DC = 19 (pass)

After minutes of simply letting his sytem get acclimated with the element, Hiru slowly stepped out of the river. He took his time, staying focused on the feeling of his chakra moving through water. The shark boy stretched his arm forward, keeping his eyes closed. Not much happened at first, but he seemed in complete control.

DC = 19 (pass)

Suddenly Hiru, focused a very small amount of his chakra, just something to get started. He raised his other hand and then let out a very loud kai. Yet, nothing apparently happened...

Cp: 91 - 1 = 90

The student kept this position for a surprisingly long time given his notorious attention span before somethingfinally happened to his arm. Gradually, small drops of water started forming at his fingertips and dripping to the ground. Also, it seemed as though his arm was slowly losing its color...

DC = 12 (fail)

Hiru then went on to do something completely unexpected. He opened his eyes, ran to the closest tree trunk and smashed his arm against it as hard as he possibly could. Instantly, his arm apparently exploded on impact, leaving only a dripping stump at Hiru's shoulder. If he didn't find a way to bring his arm back, he was going to be in one heck of an embarrasing situation...

DC = 10 (fail)

Nonetheless, Hiru did not seem to panic... well... at first anyway. He closed his eyes again and focused as much chakra as he could, trying to get the water thta had separated from his body to reattach to his shoulder as an arm. He strained every bit of his massive chakra system and used as much of his disproportionate chakra control for his age to get it to come back, but, to no avail...

DC = 19 (success)

DC: 13->12

As patient as Hiru might have been up until now a sense of mpanic begun to set in as the seconds passed and his arm still layed on the ground in water drops. His face shriveled a bit as he dropped to his knees to get his dripping shoulder to come in contact with the small puddle of water at his feet. He got it closer and closer until it finally made contact.

DC = 19 (success)

Hiru try to get back in that mindset he was in a few moments ago when he left his chakra in and out of his body. It took all of his willpower to just calm down and return to a focused state. Gradually, he strted letting chakra flow from his shoulder and into the puddle, and then back.

Cp= 90 - 2 = 88

Hiru couldn't see it since his eyes were closed but the little drips of water slowly creeped up his shoulder and reattached as normal flesh.

DC = 14 (success)

It took a few moments before the shark student felt the connection being made down his right arm. However, as he felt his forearm slowly coming in contact with the ground he had the certitude he was doing something right. The grimace on his face turned into a wide spiky teethed smile as his hand finally finished reforming.

DC = 20 (success)

Hiru opened his eyes and took a long look at his hand, seeing if it still opened and closed properly. He flexed every finger and rotated every articulation. It did seem like everything was alright, at least for now. One thing was for sure though, he'd have to get this technique down a lot better before he tried liquifying vital organs...

DC = 3 (fail)

Once more, Hiru focused chakra into his arms and bashed on the tree trunk with both of them, making them drip down the tree this time instead of letting them explode all over the place. Now armless, Hiru had to find a way to focus his chakra without the use of his hands. This time, also he'd try doing it just like in combat, with his eyes wide open.

Cp: 88 - 4 = 84

DC = 1 (fail)

He remembered how he had pulled off reconstruction the last time. Instead of wasting time getting the stumps to come in contact with the water, he immediately started using his loose chakra as a magnet. Pretty quickly, the drops of water started dripping down the tree's bark and up Hiru's leg, steadily reattaching to the shoulders.

DC = 1 (fail)

That's when Hiru realized something, the better he was getting with the technique, the harder it was for his body to remain in the form of water, not the opposite. The less focused he tried to be the faster and easier his body reformed into flesh. It seemed that should he lose focus or counsciousness in battle he wouldn't crumble into water to the ground but rather return to his physical form. That was somewhat reassuring...

DC = 5 (fail)

It took only a few seconds this time for his arms to completely return to normal, and he didn't have to check thoroughly to make sure they were in the right place or in the right direction. It started to seem like he pretty much had it down by now. However, the final challenge still layed ahead... completely melting his body was going to be a hard, and quite honestly most likely very disturbing experience...

DC = 7 (fail)

It took all of Hiru's courage and determination just to get in a mental state in which he'd consider basically turning into a puddle of water. Even though he was incredibly afraid at first, he remembered how much easier his seocnd attempt at liquifying and reaataching his arms had been and he firmly believed he could do it again, this time around with organs. However one thing was for certain, this was going to rough on his chakra reserves.

DC = 12 (success)

Hiru closed his eyes, lowered his head, and, for a few seconds, stood perfectly still.

Cp: 88 -70 = 18

In an herculean effort of chakra reserve exhaustion, Hiru shifted his entire physical form to the state of water and splashed down to the ground, apparently completely disappearing from sight. It seemed as though he had done it, but a major part still layed ahead: reconstructing his organs...

4/10, molding chakra.

d9. fail.

Masanori took his stance again and closed his eyes, imagining those two piles once again. The physical pile of energy had a faint of an yellow aura around it and the spiritual, blue - just to have something to disguinish the two. So then when mixed them both, he could create a green chakra and drag it to a destined part of his body. But this time it was a failure again.

d1. fail.

"Now.. Was physical energy the one which you've trained.. Or was it the spiritual?" he scratched his chin for some time before taking his thoughts into action and looked up a book from a nearby shelf. He found his answer: " is essential to even the most basic jutsu; it is a mixture of the physical energy present in every cell of the body and the spiritual energy gained from exercise and experience."

d14. success.

He put the newly aquired information to use and started to gather up the two piles again, but this time, extracting his physical energy from every part of his body instead of just the muscle tissue he did before. And the flick of blue chakra happend once again, this time it held out alittle longer and was a bit more colourful before it dissapered into the empty space.

d10. fail.

Excited about his recent accomplishment he started to try and increase the radius of where the chakra would take place, like more in the whole part of his palm rather then the tip of his finger. "Damn" but it seemed as if tough he wasn't ready for such an task yet.

d10.fail.

He was not so sure of how much time had passed by since he started with the handseals, but it had gotten to him and was getting kind of tierd of staying in this little classroom. "Iiiin.. Twenty minutes I'll work my way out to the garden," he sighed, and slowly moved his hands together and concentrated on finding his chakra.

d6.fail.

]"Maybe I could ask Mokujin-sensei for assi-.. No.. That other guy could start to think of me as an person who needs help in every difficult situation. I have to work without any more help.. Unless he asks.." Masanori's highly manageable socialapperance was now gradually becomming difficult to handle, but nonetheless he would continue with this social experiment of his.

d4.fail.

His state of mind had become more and more fuzzy, it was getting harder and harder to imagne the two piles again. "Maybe there's an easier way of creating the visible chakra?" he started to think about the options. "Hmm.. If I just try and get a glow of chakra around me, and not to a specific and tiny place it would get easier?"

d14.success.

He molded together the two chakra types and let the mix of it be pushed out of his body in all directions, giving him alittle less effort to focus on the place where it should actually be and to rather make it visible. Which it did!. A small faint aura was visible on various parts of his body still, almost too faint to see.

d16.success.

A secound time he tried this technique, making it work perfectly. His thoughts then drifted off to something that make things easier, but couldn't think of any ones that could compete with this style/technique. He ran his fingers through his hair as a sense of accomplishment, "I should just finish this off while I am on a roll."

d3.fail.

But it seemd that his lucky streak ended with an exhausted Masanori sitting on his knees. "Ha.. Ha.. " he breathed heavily. "Seemed as if though.. It took more energy than I imagned. I'll rest for a bit" he walked back to his former seat at the classroom to get some rest.

DC = 3 (fail)

Hiru was now lying there, a placid puddle of water on the ground. This state felt somewhat... strange... to say the least. First of all he was pretty surprised he could still see anything. It's not like if there were two bubbly eyes sticking out of the puddle. Now that he knew for sure he was still fully aware and conscious, next step would have to be motion.

DC = 6 (fail)

Now he wasn't sure really how to command his body in this form, he always been used to raising an arm, or moving a leg but now his movement would be amoeba like in nature. At first he tried these exact kind of movements, but all it did was cause slight ripple throughout his aquatic body. He really wouldn't have a choice but to creep around on the ground.

DC = 14 (success)

DC 12 -> 11

Given his appearance, Hiru pretty much realized all he could do was stretch from side to side, and maybe there lied the key. Gradually, he sent the message to his nervous system to stretch, much like he would have if he tried to reach for something that was just past his grasp. Slowly, the puddle stretched farther, dragging the rest of Hiru with it.

DC = 6 (fail)

Now knowing he could move, he'd have to know how fast he could. He tried stretching and dragging as fast he could for a five second stretch. After this effort, he stopped for a while to see how much ground he had covered. Hiru was pretty surprised by the result, it seemed as though he had covered just about as much ground as he would have by running. This form could prove even more useful than he thought after all!

DC = 9 (fail)

This was pretty much all the excitement was going to get from turning into a puddle of water. Not really knowing whta he could explore form this form, Hiru knew the last step of the technique still layed ahead: the shift back to physical form. From what he remembered this should be nearly automatic, but if it was anything like his arms the first time was going to be hell...

DC = 20 (success)

Hiru started by letting go, just like he had learned form his first few tries at reforming his arm. Very gradually, a head started emerging from the puddle, completely discoloured and dripping all over the place. His brain, the source of his concentration seemed to have pretty much found its shape back, which proved to be a very good start.

DC = 17 (success)

Turning back was starting to prove a much more difficult task than Hiru had anticipated. Not so much because of the complexity of the technique rather than the huge amount of chakra it cost Hiru to change, leaving with very limited supplies as he tried to change back. Nevertheless, his form kept emerging steadily from the water, now being nearly completely formed from the waist up.

DC = 17 (success)

Most of his major organs were reformed by now. His heart, lungs, liver, stomach, and all of the rest of his circulatory and digestive systems were now almost complete. The speed at which he rose from the ground was significantly slower while he was solidifying from the torso region, but not once did it stop even for a second.

DC = 8 (fail)

Once he made it past the waist line, Hiru started reforming at nearly twice the speed as his thighs and knees were now completely out of and most of the water gone. He was now almost done with this jutsu and it did appear he had understood the gist of it. He was pretty certian he could use it in a battle situation without too many complications, well, except for those resulting from the huge chakra drain obviously!

DC = 16 (success)

Finally, the last part of the now tiny puddle solidified under the sole of his feet. Now done with this arduous training Hiru crumbled from chakra exhaustion. Before he reached the ground, a metallic puppet flickered right under him to catch him in his fall and gently carried him to a grassy spot where he could rest for a few moments. He could take a break knowing had done some good work today.

Mokujin kept yawning a bit seeing his students create a light show with the chakra from their hands. He wondered a while what the shark kid was doing outside. He had sent Kanejin to investigate but he still hadn't heard from him. It seemed that the two students who had shown up still weren't done. The wooden sensei kept counting the seconds until he could get out of here and do some field work with the students, but it seemed he was still stuck here for a few hours...
---------------------------------------------------

A few moments after Mokujin's loud yawn, Kanejin walked into the classroom carrying an almost unconscious Hiru. "Settle down peeps, there's nothing to see here", he said, posing Hiru on a desk chair. Knowing Mokujin would be curious to know what happened he simply released the the Kugutsu bunshin himself, knowing his memory would transfer back to the caster. Hte puppet crumbled to the ground before disappearing in a small smoke cloud.

Mokujin could hardly believe the images that were transferring into his cellulose brain... could an academy student really pull off such a high level elemental jutsu? His awe mixed with excitement as he imgained what this could mean for future missions... he had to find something to do.

"Alright garçons, let's hurry dis up a bit, I have a new mission for you guys and we can't get going before you've mastered dese basic principles.", he said with a hint of excitement in his tone. "I have some special field work prepared to get ready for de genin exams... it would be a shame if you didn't finish it in time for us to be able to make it!", he concluded.

Molding chakra.

His breathing was so loud, it took some time before he heared the sound of loud footsteps in the room. His first noitce was a metal doll then the unconcious Hiru. He rose quickly from his seat to walk up to the sleeping friend, but when seeing the suprieingly glad expression on Mokujin's face, he understood that Hiru had simply accomplished something that demanded alot of energy. "Hmm.. Gonna accomplish something great as well."

He started to get a feeling for the excersise, since his aura was now much more blue than the last time.

d15. Success.

Since he had learned the twelve handseals he figured that it would be a waste of time to always use the tiger seal when knowing eleven others. He easily switched and moved the placement of his hands and fingers to the bird seal ,since it being his favorite of them all. The chakra became visible, but not as grand.

d20. Success.

He tried again and this time the arua had spread ALL around his body instead of spots here and there. He was successful in his attempt but the aura quickly faded away shortly after he noticed it was there.

Molding chakra.

After his major achivment in such short time, he had stopped pushing himself further and this one time he failed to make his chakra visible. Frustrated, he let out a loud sigh and rushed his fingers through the blonde, nicely-taken-care-of-hair of his. "Hmm.. Hiru is still unconcious.."

d16. success.

He easily managed his mental focus and let his muscle memory take care of the rest. "Psyhical energy.. Spiritual.. Mix.. Mold.. And.." a lightblue aura was visible, this time he held it for three long secounds before it dissapered in a flash. "Ha! I am gonna fix it in the nearest hour!" he let out a sly smile.

d2. fail.

"Eeeh.. Time for a break" his answer was to his latest failure. "just... eh.." he made his way to the window he had taken his breaths from and stayed there for a while, feeling the wind blow through his blonde medium-long hair. "How is Hiru?" he asked his sensei.
PostPosted: Wed May 26, 2010 7:31 pm

Mokujin was yawning again when he was surprised by Masanori walking up to him, his hands red from chakra training. "He's doing fine Masanori, he should be up any minute incidently. He just pushed his chakra reserves a bit too hard for a first try at a new technique.", he answered the blonde boy.

"You seem to be almost dere too", Mokujin added, "Learn from Hiru's experience, pushing too hard for your chakra to come out leads to things like this.", he said, pointing to the unconscious Hiru. "Don't forget that chakra flows naturally, let its regular stream do its work and only push from dere.", he concluded.

"Haha, thanks Mokujin-sensei! Never thought of it that way. I'll go try it now" even though he appreicated the help he had just gotten he couldn't help to ponder on how the other student might think of him now. He made a quick bow, in a gesture of graitude, before taking a few steps back,but still in Mokujin's range of vision.

Out of reflex his hands made the tora seal and soon enough a fainted blue glow surronded Masanori's body, that stayed and kept shining brighter.

18+4=22. Success.

The aura grew larger and larger around Masanori and soon enough it covered a few inches further then the context of Masanori's hair and clothing. The blue color had also increased and a small breeze had began taking place around him, blowing his clothing back and forth in a gentle movement. And with this, he opened his green eyes and looked at Mokujin while saying in his regular friendly and cleartoned voice: "Finished."

On his way back home from that disastrous political meeting Andou passed the Academy building. Knowing full well that he would be the one in that building right now if it weren't for his political obligations, he decided to enter and see how class was going. If he wasn't wrong a new bunch of students should be making their inroads into the shinobi world right about now. The previous bunch of students hadn't really had much potential - not that Andou could blame them really. The invasion had wiped a lot of the best out, and scared a lot of the above average into hiding. Walking into the classroom Andou saw two new faces... wait a second, that boy (Masanori) looked familiar... Was that Hiru?! Andou hadn't seen the boy in months.

He looked up to see the teacher of the class. Mokujin was it? It wasn't that hard of a name to remember considering how literal it was. "Hello, I just came to see how class was doing," Andou greeted Mokujin politely. "They're doing chakra molding?" His gaze swept across the class again. One of them seemed to be finished but the other one seemed to be having a bit of trouble. Andou also desperately wanted to ask about Hiru and what the hell he was doing slumped over like that. But there was a time and place within the conversation for that and he would wait.

Mokujin was somewhat startled by the appearance of a ranked ninja in the vicinity. He hadn't seen many of those around since he was ordered by the village. Mokujin had been summarily briefed on the remaining shinobis of Kirigakure, but it was still a bit hazy... He clearly remembered a somewhat gloom looking katana specialist who was involved in foreign affairs, in absence of a clear kage, but it was a little while ago... was it Batou? Nah...

"You must be Andou-kun!" Mokujin somewhat cheerfully said, maybe happier he remembered the name than of actually meeting the high chuunin. "Dese kids are nearly done with dere training, we'll be heading out soon for a mission. It would be great for dem if you could join too, kids always need role models.", he added. "We'll just be waiting a bit longer, worst off they'll finish deir training as homework."
