oh, I see.

Yeah, the reason you do magnets is so that nothing falls off...

eh, I might do magnets, I will be interchanging parts and weapons I guess.

Personally, I think its a great idea for magents. I mean, it puts alot less pressure on the modeller for making thier battlesuit.

What do you guys think of this 500 pt army?

HQ

Shas'o-shield generator, HW multitracker, Cyclic Ion Blaster, Plasma Rifle
Shas'vre-Shield Generator, HW Multitracker, Plasma Rifle, Missle Pod
Shas'vre-Shield Generator, HW Multitracker, Plasma Rifle, Missle Pod

Troops

Firewarrior Squad-
8 Firewarriors with pulse rifles
Firewarrior Squad-
8 Firewarriors with pulse rifles

Heavy Support-
Sniper Drone Team

I think its pretty well balanced out, critique on crisis suit configurations would be nice. It falls a bit under 500 pts, I can play around a bit with upgrades I think, maybe about 20 pts to mess around with.

It comes out to what now? I just put this list together myself and it comes out to 559 points. So this is pretty bloated for a 500 list. You need to trim down that HQ choice alot. Lose the bodyguards, and take regular Fire Knives instead, and that'll save you some 30 points right there. Bring your Fire Warrior squads down to minimum size and you'll save another 40 points.

As for the list itself, it's not bad aside from being overpointed, but you shouldn't have all those points tied up in one unit. Nevermind that you only have 2 real scoring units here. (I can't recall at the moment whether retinues are scoring.) I think it's better to have a couple of solo Fire Knives and then a solo commander. This way your opponent has to target each unit separately, and you can hide your commander behind your other suits.

I like part of that, I dont understand how I got my pts screwed up, but I think I need to keep the fire warrior squads the way they are. The reason I used the crisis suits as my bodygaurds so I could get access to my wargear.
Remind me, Fire Knives? I know its something with missle pods...

If all you want is access to the wargear list, you can do so for 5 points cheaper on each of those suits by keeping them in separate Elite slots and making each of them a team leader.

Fire Knives, once again, are suits with Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod and Multi-tracker. If you want to get fancy but neeed to save points, bust the bodyguards down to team leaders instead of Shas'vre bodyguards, and swap thier Shield Generators for Targetting Arrays. That'll save you 15 points apiece over thier current configuration.

Alright, so I versed another chaos and i'll tell you, with a 2k army of 4squads x11 firewarriors
Commander Shas'el and his body guards, two hammerheads, 3 broadsides accompanied with shield drones, 2 more squads of normal crisis battle suits with 2 in each squad, and 3squads x7 gun drones on deep strike, a chaos army is going to have a hell of a time killing me, if they can even get that far.

My broad sides, seeker missles, hammerheads, and crisis suits ripped apart his rhino, predator, and demon prince in the first turn.
He went first! rofl
He now has a defiler, rhino, raptors, and some other things that I don't know of.
He quit after he lost all of those.
I only lost 1 battle suit, about 11 firwarriors (which still leaves 33 of them), and one of my tanks was... (What is the word used for unmovable, but able to shoot?) I don't remember the word, but you ge the idea.

Yeah... I do good against most armies, but the ones I can't seem to beat are imp guard, witch/demon hunters, and space marines.

Stupid imperium... stare

While Sheild Generators are nice, a good Tau player should rarely need them. Your suits shouldn't be getting shot at at all if you're using Jump-Shoot-Jump tactics. Pop out, fire, then dive behind cover. Behind, not in, and you can't be shot at all. The only things that should catch your Crisis Suits with something that will drop thier save should be Deep Strikers or fast assaulters with power weapons (bikes, jump infantry). The only Crisis Suit I ever put a Shield Gen on is my commander, because he's got BS5 and is worth more than any other suit in my army. Swapping the Shield Gen's for T. Arrays on two suits saves you enough to buy two more Fire Warriors. Do it on three suits and you can squeeze another Stealth Suit into a list. Five, and you can pretty much fit another Crisis Suit.

Hey, what is the jump-shoot-jump tactic? How does it work? I thought you needed vector retro thrusters for that and those are special issue?
