I'm going to buy it, just not for the Dark Eldar and Necrons.

I thought Necrons are not new to Dawn of War.

The necrons came in at winter assault (at the end of the campaign) and playable in Dark Crusade.

He probably means Sisters of battle and dark eldar. neutral

No, don't correct me if you don't know what the gentle caress I'm talking about. There are certain races I will play and certain I wont, namely the Necrons and Dark Eldar.

Some people buy the expansions for the new races, I do it for the new campaign and new units.

I liked to play that campaign a lot in DC, but I will not buy it just for that.

Well, I'm not sure why, but the campaign is the most fun part for me. It's just a ton of skirmish missions strung together with the odd "Aha! We meet again fagballs!" boss levels where you wipe out your foe. I wonder what kind of bonuses you can get this time though, maybe a massive laser array can be found on one of the two moons?

I don't buy it for multiplayer though, as a lot of the people who play it put an unhealthy amount of time into perfecting the perfect steamroller strategy. Hence my reluctance to play the game online, for I am weak and even my untrained fangirls could beat me.

As it stands the demo isn't a great taste of what the game can bring in my opinion. At least you have access to all units and structures, something you didn't have with the DC demo featuring the Tau.

Could anyone pass on some advice on how to successfully play the orks in Dark Crusade? I'm asking because no matter what I try I seem to get shot dead pretty quickly... its as though boyz just weren't meant for fighting... *tears*

Mean while.. I can play marines.. eldar... tau.. and necrons no problem (campaign mode this is) so i'm guessing the big diff in battle style is what has me messed up.

Tips and tricks are appreciated!

I don't play online at all either. I've played a total of 3 games. One was against Dark Elf, and I used a somewhat rehearsed "steamroller" to defeat him". The other a team with my cousin with an AI against 3 AI, which lasted hours since it was a constant tug-of-war until my cousin and I finally piled all of our remaining forces together and took them out. The third was with a random guy as my ally and two others as my random enemies. I tried to use my well-oiled Eldar approach but before I had a sizable force there were already khorne berserkers capturing my strategic points. That ended in me playing guerrilla warfare style with cloaked bases and webways. I managed to put a huge dent in the two enemies before they finally caught onto using detector units. From there, it was a slaughter.

New videos of the Confessor and Penitent Engine are on IGN.
Videos.
The confessor looks like it is just a skin for a commissar.

Nah, the Confessor looks unique enough, doesn't even carry a ranged weapon from the looks of it.

He's modeled after this guy:

My best work with orks was done as a horde kind of thing. Don't really focus on vehicles and don't expand squads a lot unless you really want to. Just focus on a shiteload of squads and keep them pouring.
Also, defend the hell out of your property with Waaagh! Banners. But that's just my best, and I've never been able to successfully play a game above normal against the comps with Orks (as opposed to the hardest difficulty with IG).

I always feel cheated. We see the character for about 10 seconds, and even then he's totally surrounded by fire and fastpaced editing so you can't see bugger all.

For real, I can't even see what they look like, that's why I took the confessor for a commissar.

I was able to beat the enemy on hard once as orks. I was playing with another guy online. We decided we would go up against the guard.

We were building up our Waagh's!!! Screaming waaagh every 5 seconds. the map was a 2vs2 map. It was the one giant wall map with only one opening in it. Forgot its name >.>

Anyways, I knew orks had to throw numbers into the battle. So I made sure to have all my strategic points upgraded and I built 4 Da boy hutt and 4 Mek shops. With 4 of each I could constantly send new Orks into battle.

Once we built up a a major Ork force, we rushed into the Imperial Guard .......and got our a**'s kicked big time. We did kill off a few of them though.

So the map has the center point the breach that I mentioned. I knew I would have to defened this point along with my friend. They imperial guard for a long a** time kept on sending in soldier......I ended up counting around 6 or 7 Baneblades. It was a stalemate at the breach. Now my ally was having problems building enough units up because he had 1 of every building(except Waaagh Banners of course) and did not upgrade his strategic points.

I ended up have a second fortress built near the breach and Waaagh banners surrounding it to give my Orks covering fire incase the enemy came to close. With the constant Orks coming out of my buildings we eventually pushed them back into there own base detsroying them.

So remember what I call the endless Waaagh technique......build a s**t load of everything.
