Van looked at one of his hands in thought. A healer might not be able to do it, but what about a god? Their powers were stronger than any mortal's. "Healing might not be my specialty, but every god's got some know how in white magic..." he began to offer as he looked back at Mala.

Mala blinked a couple moments in surprise. For many moments, she was silent. Afterwards she murmured, "You think you actually might be able to do it?" Her eyes held an almost hopeful, pleading look in them.

"Assuming you temporarily lift the ban on my powers, sure." Van said with a small smile. If he could only do one thing for her, he wanted this to be it.

"O..Only if it won't hurt you. Okay?" Mala had once again averted her gaze, embarassed with herself for asking such a favor. She somehow hoped that Van could pull this off - but didn't bother keeping her hopes up.

"If using my powers hurt, I would've given up being a god entirely a loooong time ago." Van said as he moved to gently hold her from behind with one hand placed on her lower stomach as it gave off a warm, white light.

"Are you sure?" Not breathing hard at all, Val rested on Rincewind. "Like, very, very sure?"

Mala sat there silently, gazing down at his hand. She felt this odd sensation from Van's healing, but wasn't quite sure what it was. After a moment she moved her eyes up to gaze at his.

Van had his eyes closed in concentration and a bit of strain. More power use meant more energy drain, though he continued the steady healing until he was finished, at which point he wearily fell backwards onto the bed, unintentionally pulling Mala with him.

"Yes, we've had enough!" Vilrath declared, filled with rage, and, of course, endorphins. "I had enough weeks ago! He's too physically exhausted to do anything, quite literally!"

Mala lightly guasped as Van pulled her down with him, although she certainly didn't complain. She didn't bother moving from her current position, or at least, not unless Van asked her to. "You okay?" she asked softly.

"Yeah, like I said, I've just been using my powers way too much these last few days. Doesn't help that healing is not my specialty." Van said wearily. "Don't worry so much though. With this power outage thing going on, it just means that using my powers will tire me out a lot faster than usual." he said reassuringly as he gently ran the back of his fingers down her cheek.

Val was a little hurt. "Well, he should have said something."

{See you when you get back.}
Mala sighed, knowing that she shouldn't have let him do that. "Van, listen, I don't want to keep draining you like this. No more using your powers, okay? Thank you for what you did but...I don't want to lose you because of my selfishness." she said with a worried look on her face.

"I told you, I'm fine." Van told her with a reassuring, albeit slight tired, smile. "Besides, the first two times weren't your fault. I had my impostor to deal with."
