Somehow Lin wasn't surprised that it was Ulrich at all. She was probably only familiar with maybe two or three of the games if the same rules applied. Though again it made her wonder sometimes.

"I'm not sure, what would you suggest?"

Lin was a bit distracted by Miyuki falling onto her lap and into her arms.

Miyuki shrieked and giggled at the tickle and fell. She turned and tried to reach out and tickle Earendil back.

"Something for ... well, I would say more than two people, but if Earendil is going to play with Miyuki - which might be a good idea - we could try something for two people," Fletcher suggested.

Earendil chuckled and plucked Miyuki from Lin's lap, tossing her up into the air as if she were just as small as when he had first met her. "Go ahead," he grinned. "I can keep her occupied."

Lin didn't even bother to mention there was a reason why Miyuki couldn't be without Earendil without her freaking out. She sighed and smiled, she couldn't frown at something like that.

Not when Miyuki was giggling and laughing at each toss. She was utterly content to just be playing with Earendil.

"A game for two then," Lin finally laughed.

Fletcher chuckled softly. "A game for two it is, then. Do you have a preference?"

He pulled a small chest out of the closet and closed the door again, bringing the chest over to where Lin was sitting.

"Not really," Lin admitted sheepishly, "I don't really play a lot of board games."

It wasn't that Lin had been fidgety as a child, she simply would have rather play something active. Like tag.

"Then perhaps we should see if we have something you've never played before," Fletcher grinned, opening the chest. "Might be more interesting for you that way."

The chest was filled with game boards and pieces, decks of cards, and dice, and it seemed there were about a dozen different games in there.

By the time dinner came around Lin had tried several games. She didn't win at any of them, but it was interesting to try all these different things. The only thing she was somewhat familiar with was cards and even then she didn't know any games for them.

Miyuki on the other hand was busy with Earendil, though it didn't mean she didn't get curious about the game pieces.

Earendil did what he could to keep Miyuki from playing with the game pieces, but he was glad nonetheless when the games were put away and there was nothing left for her to get into.

Just as Amara came out of the kitchen to announce that dinner was ready, a door opened down the hall, and Haldia appeared, her hair disheveled, her golden eyes clouded with sleep. She had a blanket around her shoulders, and she looked around and blinked.

"How long did I sleep?" she asked softly, her voice filled with wonder.

"Several hours," Lin replied.

Though she didn't know exactly how long it was. She hadn't been keeping track of the time, and it was always easy to lose track of time here. With it being dark, she couldn't tell with all the snow.

"It's almost dinner," Lin offered as a way to tell.

Haldia smiled sheepishly and brushed her hair away from her face. "Well, that explains why I'm so hungry," she murmured, a little embarrassed. "I apologize ... I had not meant to sleep for so long."

"Don't worry about it," Earendil smiled warmly at her.

"Well, it's dinner time now," Amara said, motioning towards the kitchen. "Come and sit down."

Lin smiled as she held out her hand to Miyuki.

"Miyuki, dinner."

Even Miyuki was hungry but that was probably because of all the playing she did. Her eyes lit up and she hurried over to grab her mother's hand and then drag her mother to where she smelled food.

Earendil smiled and let Miyuki head off to Lin, and headed over to Haldia instead. She seemed a bit dazed (probably because she had just woken up), and so he took her by the arm and led her into the kitchen.

The table was set, and Amara pulled out chairs for them to sit down.

Miyuki was still short actually, and she would have to stand in order to see the table, which was something Lin didn't want to encourage, so she had her daughter sit on her lap.

Miyuki for her part stared at the table eagerly with her tails waving back and forth.

They all sat down and Amara served them, and they began to eat. She had made sure to include soft food for Miyuki so that she could also eat her fill.

Through the meal, Haldia became more and more awake, and by the end of the meal, when she had eaten a bit, she was listening a bit more closely to the conversation, even talking a bit with Earendil.

At the end of the meal, Lin was wiping Miyuki's hands off. She forgot how hands on a child could be with their food and Miyuki was no exception to that. She actually wondered how much of it ended up in Miyuki's mouth rather than everywhere else.

She was glad (sort of) that Haldia was talking to Earendil, at least she was enjoying herself right?
