@My Naka-Kon Trip: Alright, I'm probably going to post a journal on all of the events during the kon, but here's some of the summed up version.
I arrived almost exactly on time to the airport Thursday night [a rare feat for me] and, with help from my mom, navigated through the airport until I got to security, where she had to leave. I take off my shoes, my belt, empty my pockets, take off my hat, my rings [i really hate security... might as well just strip >.>;; I feel so naked without my accessories.] and start to go through. However, as I do so, I'm stopped by a security member's comment about aerosols. I hadn't thought about it until then, but I had a can of hair glue [it's like hairspray... only super... totally awesome for spiking wigs for cosplaying] in my bag. I politely asked said security member about taking hairspray with me, and he said it shouldn't be a problem... until I pulled out the can upon his request. Apparently it's 4-times the legal amount to carry through security and looks threateningly not like hairspray... *shrug*
It was a brand new can that I bought just for the occasion of styling my wigs, so there was no way I was throwing it away. Luckily, Sakura showed up and I had her put the can in her bag that was being checked in [it was allowed on checked baggage, not carry-ons]. ANYway... now that I had stripped, re-dressed, stripped, and redressed again.... I was clear of security, and went off to our gate. The rest of the flights worked out well, and as we arrived in Kansas City, it began to snow. Now, being Californians from the desert... Sakura and I naturally spazzed out in excitement at the sight of it. I learned not to be excited about snow while you're in an airport later that weekend... but that will come up later.
When we finally get to the convention, I proceeded to get dressed in my Ash Crimson outfit [lol, me from last year, I don't have any current pics yet. And my costume actually looked a lot better than that picture], then head down to the Vendor's Hall to check out our booth.
Quite unfortunately, we were nothing more than a tiny table squeezed in between a large flashy hentai booth with wall scrolls of revealed anime girls, and an equally flashy yaoi booth... it made us depressingly over-look-able. ._.;
8D it was totally fun to cut in front of the huge line waiting to get inside though... since I was a vendor I totally had those super special awesome powers<3
Most of the con was pretty basic... people posing for pictures all over the hotel, and nearly constant shoutings of "I JUST LOST THE GAME!" [>w> lol... all of you totally just lost The Game too]. What was really fun, though, was that the hotel was connected to a mall via bridge. So the cosplayers were constantly crossing over into the mall and wandering around, making the normies stare and hide their children. It was so great <3
By the end of the weekend, I sold every one of my 8 hats, and took pictures of three people I saw walking around wearing them. I went to a rave [which was very disappointing
Then came time for me to leave. I left the crowded convention hall, as my friends waved sadly through the window, and piled my crap into the shuttle to the airport. I arrived, in the snow covered streets, and went to my gate [after chugging a cup of coffee that security wouldn't let my bring through the check point ....hhaaattteee] then boarded my plane.
This is where that whole snowing at an airport thing bites me in the arse. We had waited on the airplane for about an hour as our captain waited for confirmation to leave, when he told us that thunder storms in our connection airport were keeping us from leaving. After another hour, we were shoved back off the plane to wait at the gate again. Another hour or so later, and they announced we could get back on the plane because the thunderstorms were gone~! Unfortunately.. now I had to check if I was going to make my connection flight in time. While I was waiting, the snow finally decided to hate me by making the runway too icy to take off. By the time we were clear to leave again, I had missed my connection, and there were no other flights leaving Kansas City International that were connecting in LAX... so I was snowed in for the night. I half-heartedly had wish I would be, because I wanted to stay with my friends... but I then realized I would be dropped from my classes on Monday for not showing. =x= I seriously thought I was screwed until Foxi found our teachers e-mail address and I got a message to him saying I was snowed in.
8D so now I'm back in Cali and I'm still in all of my classes~! Yay for happy endings!
[er... in case anyone was wondering, this trip cost me at least $100 in food alone because stupid cons and hotels rip you off.. we even brought sandwich making materials and it still cost that much for our breakfasts and drinks... >o>; ]

D; OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! ENVYYYYYYY!!!!!!
:' ( I've never been to a Con. before. Alison has been to a s**t ton of them, but I, however, have never set foot in one. I've always wanted to. Like to go there, make new friends, hang out with people, and just have fun. :3
By the way, if you ever came to MN for a Con during the winter. . . . . lol You'd HATE it! You'd complain about the cold and you'd hear the annoying "Don'cha'knowwww"s, and people calling a ******** casserole a hot dish!!! XD MN is lame. . . but poor Skotti probably has it worse. lol
Anyway, I'm glad you guys had fun! biggrin I hope to see some photos soon!

Dewd...Not sure WHAT happened...
But I kept getting this incredibly vague error whenever I tried to post...
It wasn't saying like "Oh you aren't logged in, go log in b***h."
It was more like...
": O Something seems to have gone wrong...Not sure what. Have fun with that."
I suspect it had something to do with Gai-Arch...
Since it updated, my problem has thankfully gone away~
