Hm, that was probably the nice way of telling her that she was practically day-glow by now. And she probably was. But he'd never complained about that before, in fact she thought he took a certain joy in how their skin contrasted so sharply, he'd mentioned it before. Another giggle as he picked her up and she laced her arms around his neck. "Souns like a good idea to me. Though if I were being more energetic I would make you chase me down for that. But no not too lazy for that...after all, I can make you do all the work."

She laughed as well since children were naturally amusing and lifted her fingers in the universal 'come' gesture. "Kel? What do you mean by sissy's sparklies?"
He gave a happy grin to his father and jumped once. "Kelli walk!" Taking a moment to study Nym's scrambling ferret feet, he frowned and lifted Nym's tail so his lower half was raised about an inch. "No mores!" Of course now the ferret's face was dangling behind his shoulder but his feet weren't dangling and that's what Daddy had said. "Sissy go boom boom. Daddy makes her."
Still a little uncertain over whether or not the horse was going to snap at her, she was ready to bolt at any moment. Pummel? Was he going to punch her? She studied the saddle and wondered why in the world someone would call a piece of leather the same word that meant to beat the tar out of. Stir up? Were they cooking now? No, apparently her foot was supposed to sit in that little metal hole. Had it been more enclosed she wouldn't have slid her foot in for fear of what might try to eat it. But she followed his directions easily enough and startled when the tip of his finger brushed her skin as her half tunic rose slightly. It was a little clumsy after that but once she was semi-comfortably seated in the saddle, she was clinging to the back ridge of the saddle for dear life, afraid the horse was going to turn his head and snap. "Now...you...?"
"That'd be really nice. I'll ask my pa-" Like any other little elf, she couldn't quite control when and where she'd drop into reverie and it came upon her like a thief in the night, stealing her words and drowning her in the memories of the past. Her body relaxed and she slid along the leather couch, her body pliant against the soft animal skin.

He watched as the child was quite happy with his own acheivements and shook his head lightly as he thought he sovled his problems, much to Nym's slight annoyance but the creature behaved himself and merely wriggled some to accomodate his new position. "I make your sister do what now?" Looking to Zahara and lightly shrugging his shoulders. Sometimes he just couldn't figure out the baby talk.
He watched her a moment and watched Kerick, assured by a few noises that the horse wasn't going to mess with the poor girl for his own kicks. "Yeah now me. Just scoot forward, you won't fall off." Waiting for her to do so and helping her a little, he placed one hand in front of her and one behind her on the saddle, slipping a foot up into the stirrup and then hoisting himself up, throwing his leg over and plopping with ease behind her in the saddle, slipping feet into stirrups. "See? All there is to it." Thusly arms around her grabbed the reins. "You can hold onto the reins too or you can hold to the pommel." Pointing to said aforementioned piece. "And no worries, you won't fall off." Thusly a click of his tongue to Kerick to get him going.
Random reverie apparently. He blinked for a moment before shaking his head and slipping off the couch, taking some time to rearrange her on the soft furniture so she wouldn't be stiff when she came back up. Making sure she was going to be comfortable, off to wandering the place with him.

"Go boom boom boom!" Ready to lift his hands until he realized Nym would go flying if her were to do that and he hugged the fuzzball to ensure Nym wasn't mad at him for what he'd almost done. "I show. I show! I show!"
She slid to the edge of the bed and held her arms out for the happily babbling little boy then took the ferret out of his arms and settled him on the bed with a pet or two before lifting him up as well.
Kelligrin stood on the bed and then clapped his hands arched them above his head like a rainbow before he plopped down and laid on his back, arms and legs splayed. Sitting back up, he grinned. "See? I show. Sparklies?"
Scoot forward? He wanted her to actually shift on this thing? But what if he decided to bolt...or rear? "What's he saying....?" That horse was talking, she just didn't know it's language. But before she could do anything Malikhai was more or less in her space and she slid forward out of necessity then felt a little better when he apparently had control of the beast. Rains... and there was that pummel word again. She had heard it right the first time. "Can't I just hold onto myself?"

Yeah that was probably barely any clearer. "Her runics? Is that what your talking about?" Giving a little flick of fingers to spark off some of his own in example, though he really shouldn't be doing it." Attention turning briefly to Nym as the ferret had taken the time to climb up his braid and perch on his head. Sometimes he only liked but so much holding.
"Oh he's just babbling, telling me that he's not going to be a goofball and mess with you. He understands you're not completely comfortable with him yet." Blinking at her, "Well I suppose you could, but you'd shift more...or we can switch places and you can hold onto me, but second in saddle is always the more uncomfortable position." Giving a tug on reins, "Hey Kerick, let's head to Deepwater." The horse giving a nicker and changing direction on his own, starting off that way with the two elves, not even stopping as he came to water. No worries there, yay special shoes.

Malik tended to his wife, and made sure she was quite happy and content, before stretching himself and giving his thoughts a bit more free reign in his head. If Fianna couldn't find a replacement, he'd try for the throne in Andal to relieve her of the obligation. but that was a good bit of time off. she'd almost certainly find someone by then. But if she didn't, how would piper take that. it might make things overly difficult.
Then of course, his oldest. he could handle that situation fairly well. being lord of the lands around here was a benefit to getting his son things that he wanted. If that Kaelin wanted to go, he could arrange it despite what issues her parents may have. and he could keep Fianna and Kieran out of trouble if she did something or if there was an accident.
Glancing at his wife, his other concern was for both her mental and spiritual health as well as thier youngest son, who radiated fear and doubt about him that he'd be a little glowing beacon if it could be shown on his skin. that needed to be fixed as soon as could be. It would do no good to have such thoughts or ideas coming from his son toward him. He worked too damned hard to not be his father to be looked upon in the same manner.

"You worry any harder and smoke if going to start coming out of your ears." Reaching a hand back to brush over his cheek before she rolled over to lay on her stomach, head resting on crossed arms as she brushed now loose hair from her face before resting her head on crossed arms. "Still thinking about all that happened?" Bonds were great for that, seh could tell what he was worrying about in certain degrees...but there was also something else on his mind that she couldn't figure. "Want to know a secret? Fear isn't something that lasts forever...it only works with reinforcement. I know it's your tool of choice, so you should know that. So why are you so worried that things will never be right again?"

"In humans, your right. but they also don't replay past memories in their heads over and over to act as a reinforcement, either."
looking over at her, and smirking lightly.
"smoke coming out of my ears, eh? I'm not that bad."
pinching her rear just because.
"I use fear as a tool. so I know exactly how dangerous and effective it can be. I just don't want to have my son reliving something that he doesn't know isn't real yet, and reinforce the fear."
a chuckle.
"still feeling like a big lazy housecat?"

He nodded happily, clapping his hands and watching the sparks then jumping to try and catch them before he fell against his father and nuzzled him. "Kelli likes sparklies. Daddy made sissy cry though." Cue quivering lower lip.
Kaelin glanced at the horse and then back at Malikhai and nodded very slowly as if she wasn't quite sure that's what the horse had probably said. She listened for a moment and studied the thing she was sitting on then decided he was exactly right. Reaching out, she grasped the pommel quite tightly and clung then watched the scenery go as Kerick began to really move. Water had her a little freaked out and she had to admit that it was neat the way the horse could...run over it. "What kind of spell did you use?"

"And the memories we have as children that are least favorable are more often than not the ones that haunt us the least later on in life. As for right now, we can only hope that he doesn't trigger into something ill minded. We can help that." A smirk back. "And yes you are. You'll burn your brain out." Giving a light yelp and slapping at his hand at his pinching. "And I proved to you with fifty once-collared-slaves that it can be broken with the right motivation. I won't let him be afraid of you. He'll listen and see to reason with some time." Raising an eyebrow at him then. "You don't even like cats and yet you're calling me one. But I'm feeling a little more energized. Must of been he screaming and what not." Brushing her hair out of her face again.
Red eyes that were still a tad red where they weren't supposed to be look to his wife. "Apparently, I'm the bad guy." Again...he hated that. His attention turned down to his son and pet at the child's back as he nuzzled. "Well I'm sorry that I did. I didn't mean to."
Kerick had picked up a little trotting speed, having decide that it was okay for him to do so as Kaelin had settled some. Malikhai himself was basking in his accomplishment of the moment, happy that things were going well and hoping they wouldn't take a turn for the worst. "Not a spell. It's an imbuned horseshoe set from the plane that my grandparents are from. Makes creatures able to walk across air more or less. It's rather nifty hm? Though we're taking the long way, Kerick here can translocate to places he's been before." Getting a confirming nicker from the stallion.

"Well if I'd said 'lazy dog' you'd probably have questioned wether I thought you were attractive or not. I thought I chose the lesser of two evils there."
A small chuckle and leaning over and giving her a kiss.
"So. think Dhairiss has driven Fianna crazy yet?"

"You're the one limiting things to cats and dogs, remember that." Shaking her head before settling with that kiss. "Probably. You know with the questions and climbing he likes to do. Why do you want to go get him?" Which would be nice she'd admit...she didn't know why she worried so much when she knew she really didn't need to when it came to Malik and Dhairiss, maybe she was just basing it off herself and her mother too much.

"Not you, precisely. The other you that they were with for so long. Though it's very strange that that happened, dont you think? He was supposed to be playing you and gaining her trust and that doesn't seem like a very smart way to do it..." Reaching over and lightly running her fingers through his hair to give him the comfort he needed. "No more runes." And a glance at their son. "He doesn't seem too shaken up by it either. Just a little upset but he's still cuddling." In fact, the toddler's toes were curling which meant he was soon to drop off into reverie completely.
"That is very interesting." Not that she'd ever need them since horses just didn't like her, but maybe she could pass the information on to someone else and see if they couldn't use it. "Well, he's more talented than I originally thought. Perhaps we could get along...somewhat. Do you think we could just...get there now?"

"I know, but to him it's one and the same. I'm surprised he's taking to me as well as he is anyway. Honestly I think I'm worried by that..." Trailing off lightly but turning his eyes to her again as she sought to comfort him and she was given one of those lopsided grins of his. "No more runes." But a nod. "It's understandable...when me and Faatallon train alone, I give her real experience and such things happen. To her it probably was no different. Especially during tests. I admit I let her do more runing than I should." Rubbing at his son's back as those toes were curling. "Kids boucne back quick when they aren't constantly pressured by those things I guess."
He didn't know if she honestly thought it interesting or if she was just saying something to not leave them in silence. He was still feeling out this whole situation as it was. "He has a lot of tricks, but sure we can make quick like. Kerick, why don't you give us a quick trip?" The horse giving an excited nosie before there was a breath of heated wind against their skin and poof, they were on the docks of Deepwater before Kerick was trotting into the city proper. "See? In the blink of an eye. Any place here in particular you like to frequent?" Though he knew Kerick was instictively heading for the Blue Diamond.

"Kids are quite forgiving. Had you hit her or something completely opposite of yourself then you might have run into more problems. It's not the first time Faate has cried and it won't be the last." She brushed her hands through the toddler's hair to give him the final push, her lips curving when he reached up and caught her hand, holding it as he finally succumbed. "Silly little boy. Always fighting the inevitable."
That was much better. Glancing around the familiar city, she was anxious to get down and slide into one of the many establishments there. "Any of the places around here, really. My girlfriends and I usually get a drink or two at the Diamond or the Knight. Last time we were messed with at the Knight so the Diamond is probably best. That's where you and Zykariel like to celebrate, isn't it?"
