"Of course you can. there's no reason why you can't."

taking up the plate and cup and putting them in the sink for serfs to handle later, s well as his own dishes and such. before a glance at fianna. apparently she was going to be attempting her little plan already. which didn't seem like it was going to get off to a good start with Piper exhausted in bed.

"You can spend and much time with her as you want, as long as she's visiting."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 9:46 am

"I'm out of ideas and this is all I have left. I hate fighting with him and I hate him thinking I'm not happy with him over something that is more or less trivial. He's a passionate elf, like you are. If he doesn't have passion for what he's doing, he won't do it. He's looking for something equal to his racing and I don't want to stuff him in a box so he doesn't find it and only learns to resent me more than he already does." Shaking his head lightly as he was still working her back gently. "He wanted a day to think, I told him it was his choice." Quiet for a moment. "And I told him some things about my past a little too..."

"Wow, your dad isn't trying to make you go to your classes or anything? I mean does that make you have to do things at home or is he just letting you do your own thing?" Frankly he couldn't imagine that too much...he liked structure. But a grin to his best friend and he gave him a brotherly elbow to the ribs. "I'm sure you can crash course me or show up when I ask you to because I'm having an issue. And heck, you get to choose when you come so I'll let you know the Kaelin things. I just hope this doesn't blow up in my face."

"Well what don't you want to talk about? What happened back with the 'Nells? You want to talk to me? I was the one who told everyone about them so we could come find you. I know some stuff and my...dad...filled in other parts." Shaking his head lightly, hey if he could help her he wanted to. But a blink. "You know...I didn't think about it. My parents were teaching me because I was too young to really go to school beforehand...I just assumed I'd keep teaching myself. Do you go?"

She was planning on acclimating the little boy to her. Yes he was generally affectionate and willing when she was down here but what with his recent trauma of sorts, he would be hard to part from his mother once she got up. Fianna was looking to fill in that need gap and divert the boy's mind from his mother. May take a few days of show and tell, but that's just how it was going to be. "See that? And you know I spoil you too. Lucky little elf you." Turning a look to Malik. "Will give you and Piper a rest as well for the next few days but he'll still be close by. Keely could use a break too it seemed." Tilting her head lightly. "Anything else you needed from me Malik?"

He seemed satisfied with that answer and even gave a little smile before slipping out of his chair and toddling over to his grandmother giving her the pick me up gesture and was duly scooped up with a kiss pressed to his cheek and being settled in her lap. He did love grandma to told him, she always smelled so pretty.

A slight snicker.

"A way to smuggle one of these 'nell things into Vrist?"

yes he was kidding, but shook his head lightly.

"No, that's all. I was hoping there would be a method to take responsibility on my own shoulders rather than imposing on your own is all. You know I don't like not being responsible for the actions of people under my roof. You've enough without worrying about someone pulling a prank or something and having a brigade member show up at your door."

"He's just a teenager and he fights with you because you let him." Shaking her head and then choosing to listen to the rest of it. Zykariel had become more and more reckless as he'd gotten older, a direct relation to the breakneck speeds and excitement of racing-- at least she thought it was. Stretching her back slightly, she winced again and let his fingers go back to work. "I suppose we'll have to wait and see how this works. But if he goes back on his side of the deal, the whole thing is void. Make sure he understands that." She paused, not quite sure what to say or do and then sat up and looked at him. "You did? How did he react."

Kelligrin was wide awake now though he wasn't nearly as full of energy as he usually was. Sitting up, he rubbed at his eyes and yawned then squirmed out of his mother's lap and sat there on the bed. "Tummy."

"No, he pretty much told me that it was up to me to decide. I'm not dropping out entirely because there are a few classes that I really like. But there are others that I can't stand and it makes me hate school." Not to mention the hardships of being who he was and what he was. Kids could be cruel after all. He moved slightly as he was jabbed, scratching at the spot and then chuckling, "I've been crash coursing you the whole time. All you have to do is listen to me." Pausing a moment. "And now's your chance. There she is." Pointing to the girl of his friend's current affection who was walking up to the school with a bag slung over her shoulder and a book in her hands. "Go offer to carry her stuff. Quickly before one of her friends gets to her."

"Yeah. My parents are worried or something." She glanced down at her hands for a minute, wondering if she could actually tell him how she was feeling and then shook her head. "I guess I just want to know why I didn't know. I should have recognized that he wasn't my real dad or something..." It sucked when your faults were staring you in the face, didn't it? "I do. My parents handled most of my training before I went to school and I still learn from my daddy about runes and stuff. But other than that I have to go."

She rolled her eyes. "Oh stop that." Giving a light chuckle at him, she knew he was kidding it was just Malik's way. "Well, if you want to take responsibility for yourselves, I may be able to see if you can. Technically since you're family to Andalian residents you're going to be cut certain breaks. Would you like me to look into that for you?"

"I'll make sure he knows. I think he does understand how serious this is since he knows how I regard such things." Quieting a moment, "I started with Neroh...and I really don't know how he took it. I know he understands it all, but at the same time I still think he doesn't fully grasp everything." Turning his attention over to the little elf who spoke up. "Does your tummy hurt, or are you hungry?"

"Well, crash me faster if you wish then. Look at who my father is, I can take a lot of lesson at one time and get on the ball and stay on it. I just need the right motivation is all." Looking over to where he pointed and grinning as he caught sight of her as well. "Right, be chivilrous. Wish me luck." Thusly meandering over to Kaelin, falling into stride with her. "Hey Kaelin, how about I take your things off your hands for you?"

"You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. The 'Nells do that to everyone. It's how they work. You're not supposed to be able to tell real from fake unless they're both in the same room. That and they do things to your head to make you believe them more. That's why we stay away from them on the surface." Tilting his head some at her again, "You enjoy it?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:36 pm

"Yes please. I'd rather have it on my shoulders than yours. not to mention, you have enough on your plate with Kieran's father already, no need for him to be prodding about my behaviors."

glancing at his mother in law and his youngest son.

"Well you too have some time to play, I'm going to check in on piper see how she's doing. if you need anything, you can just ask. I'd suggest though steering a little clear of the stables. Ramoth is having a touchy week."

"Oh yes, Ahkallyn is keeping me more than onmy toes. Not everyday I labeled 'Assassin' soon as I walk into a place." Shaking her head at that and what not. She could understand the man being worried about his son, but really. Then again she had a suspcition that the old elf looked for ways these days to pick at people out of borefom perhaps. "Right, stay away from the horses and we'll have our own fun. Meanwhile you tend to your wife."

Which got a noise from him and a worried look up to his grandmother as little hands grasped at her tunic and tugged. She was going to let mommy and daddy be alone? But what if something happened? "No alone grandma!"

She merely took hold of his hands, shushing him lightly before pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Shh, it's alright. I promise that he won't hurt her. He knows you and me would be really angry and he'd be sad if we were angry with him and didn't love him anymore." Nodding to Malik, letting him know that she had this covered and it was okay for him to head off.

"I just hope this is going to work and not come back to bite us in the..." Glancing at their now very much awake son and catching herself. "You know." She digested the fact that her oldest son knew that her husband had killed his younger brother and wondered what had been going through Zykariel's mind when he'd heard about it. "It'll hit him later, I think. He'll probably have more questions...are you going to be able to answer them?"

"Hurts and hungry." That was informative wasn't it? Rolling onto his back, he squirmed lightly and then sat back up and crawled over his father's knees, settling next to his mother. "Make stop."

She glanced up in surprise, not expecting to see him in front of her at all. Smiling somewhat shyly, she shifted her books and then glanced around to see if her friends were around. "Okay. Thanks." Handing over her bag, she kept the single book and started towards the school. "I wasn't sure if we were going to see you today. Where have you been the last week?"

She heard it but wasn't quite sure if she believed it or if he was just trying to make her feel better. In her mind she should have known. She should have been able to tell that her father wasn't being himself and her mother was mysteriously missing. Instead, she'd swallowed everything they told her without a single protest. "So you know a lot about them?" It might help if she knew her enemy a little better? "Yeah, I do. There's lots to learn and I have a lot of friends at school. But I like my lessons with my dad even better."

"If it does...well at least we're used to that kind of pain. We'll deal." But apparently she wasn't as upset as he thought she may have gotten about it all. "I'm going to have to answer them whether I like it or not. I'll just...deal with my own feelings later." She knew out of all the things that couldn't upset him that was one of the things that always did get him no matter how hard he tried to let it not to. Watching their youngest son again. "Maybe it's hurting because you're hungry or your mother can give you health too." Pressing a kiss to his wife's shoulder before getting himself up. "Breakfast then?"

Crap. Not prepared for that question, but he knew he could cover it up quick as she handed over her pack and kept hold of her book. Fair enough, she had given him the heavy one. Slinging it over his shoulder her grinned at her. "Some family things came up and I couldn't leave home until they were dealt with you know? That's how it is when you have family that lives off plane. And my mother and little brother were sick. Miss me?" Saying it in the humoring tone rather than the narcisstic one.

"I know somewhat about them. My father used to be one of the ones that tried to study them so we could be safe from them. He wrote some of it down and kept some things to himself...but he let us know what he knew too when we got to talk to his spirit." Which was creepy and Mykorian was still pretending it didn't really happen. "Lot of kids in school too?"

Malik nodded lightly and went upstairs to his wife, and looked her over a moment before leaning over and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Feeling any better since your longer than usual reverie?"

settling down by her.

"Fianna has Dhairiss for now, so don't worry about him. how are you doing?"

She didn't want to deal but knew better than to push too hard. "If you don't want to field them, you know I can. I know I wasn't there but I've heard you talk about it before and I know pretty much what happened. I mean...just in case." Sevilin didn't handle that part of his life very well, not when it had happened, not when he revisited it in his reverie and certainly not when recounting it to others. "Why don't we try a little bit of eggs just to get something in his belly. Some toast too and milk, no orange juice. We'll see how he feels after that. I'm not hungry but if you'd bring it up for him that'd be great."

"Don't know." Rubbing at his eyes again and tugging at a piece of his hair. "I don't like eggs." Then another frown. "Don't like toast neither." And then a happy clap. "Oge juice!"

"Oh. Well, I hope everything is alright." Glancing over at him, her lips twitched and she shrugged. "Yes but the worry overrode. And Zykariel wasn't here to question either. I wasn't sure you were coming back."

She blinked at that, uncertain how to respond or how much he might want to talk about that experiencing. "You talked to your father's spirit? That must have been hard for you... are you okay?" It had probably been nice seeing him again in a weird, dead spirity kind of way, but at the same time she knew it had likely only widened the hole that was still there. Laying a hand over his gently, she squeezed then moved her hand back to her own lap. "Enough. Mostly from another drow city called Vesendar. It's not quite like many think of when they think drow. Reformed, I suppose you could say?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:18 pm

She had just been starting to come out of that reverie, and was resting in bed still feeling things out. She had been worried when Dhairiss wasn't there and moreso upset since Malik hadn't come to bed the night prior. At least bonds told her where they were and thus she tried to repress the worry. Slight startling however as his lips brushed over her cheek and she blinked, shifting in bed to look at him. "Much, save you didn't come to bed. But I think I'll be fine, no worries." And since her mother had her son, even more so things were settled in her mind. "Are you okay?" Including on Dhairiss and all, but he knew what the question meant.

"Yeah I know...I just may need some time alone after or some time for just you and me. Whichever works at the moment." Patting her thigh with a light exhale of breath on his part. But he couldn't help the soft chuckle that left his throat at their son. "Seems he completely disagrees with you...I think he's going to be just fine. I'll bring it all back and something else too, you know he'll eat it." Thusly heading downstairs and wandering into the kitchen to get the requetsed items, as well as some oatmeal and biscuits. Heading back up, he set the tray of food stuffs on the bed for the toddler to pick over.

"Yeah everything is fine." Hm, what was the best way to approach this subject. But for now he merely kept walking with her seeing as they still had plenty of time before classes. "Zykariel's family is entantgled with mine so that meant he got pulled too. But don't worry, I wouldn't drop out without telling you goodbye first." Flashing her a grin that he hoped didn't look stupid. "Hey, what are you doing later today?" Start small.

"Yeah it was...I'm not sure how I want to feel about it. But I think I'll be okay...it's nice to know that they're okay wherever they are." Giving her a light smile as she sought to comfort him when he was trying to do the same for her. She seemed so sullen. "I understand. My mother was from Vesendar. But we didn't live there. She said she wanted to be someplace with just my dad and then I came along too. Are you just taking a few days off to recoop? Anything I can get you? I know you're probably tired."

She just rolled her eyes at her son's exclamations and pulled him into her lap to fix his hair. Toddlers always thought they didn't like something and then happily ate everything they claimed not to like. After three children who were all picky eaters in their own way, she had this down. Picking up a biscuit as the tray was set down, she took a bite and settled back into his side, watching their son happily begin to eat. "No OJ. Glad to see that." Breaking off a piece and pushing it in between his lips since he needed to eat as well. "Just let me know and I'll do whatever you need me to. You know that."

"I thought as much. Everyone knows your dad works for his and he's disappeared in the past as well when there hasn't been a race. We all assume it had something to do with the D'vinn's, but this is the first time we've had you here as well." She was rather pleased he'd at least tell her goodbye and gave him another shy smile for admitting it though that faded as her brow wrinkled. "Today? Just going to class and then back home."

"I think it's kind of nice to know that you can talk to them. How'd you do it?" Did this have something to do with her uncle's profession? Could he bring Mykorian's parents back whenever the elf was feeling lonely? Maybe that would help him a little bit in his adjustments. "I didn't reverie at all last night but I don't want anything either. My stomach is upset and I just feel...strange."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 05, 2008 9:27 pm

"He won't know the difference. Better for him to have milk anyway." Blinking stupidly as she pushed food into his mouth before taking to chewing and giving her a grin. She was always trying to keep him eating. "I know you will, you've always been there. But...just so you know, I don't expect you to deal with me if I'm at a place that makes it dangerous for you."

Uh oh, unhappy look. Was he messing up already. "Um yeah. Well I was just wondering if since you're free you'd want to get together after classes today. Hang out somewhere or something you know?"

"Something necromancery, that's all I know." Shrugging lightly...still not sure if it had been comforting or not but he turned his attention back to his friend that he was sititng with. "Your body just needs some time to readjust. I can sit with you if want while you take reverie. Scared you're going to remember something bad?"

"I've been better. Dhairiss was already starting to yell just because I was coming up here without someone else with me. But your mother had an idea that might work I hope. and we're taking a vacation to Andal soon. get away from this mess for awhile. and no arguing that point."

Helping her into a sitting position, and putting an arm around her.

"Fianna suggested we act liek we did when we were 'courting' as she would put it, and she was going to 'spy' with Dhairiss to show that what he thought was real wasn't. Thoughts?"
