Malik looked down at his son, and raised an eyebrow...why was he down here without piper? But he leaned over and picked him up, setting him down on his lap.

"What's the matter? and where's mom, still in reverie?"

his color was getting better, though, which he did take to do be a good sign.

"and how are you feeling? everything alright, so sick feeling, nothing like that?"

She hadn't meant to make the noise but she hadn't been prepared for the sharp pain to slice through her either. "That's good. Rest is good for that sort of thing." His energy levels would build back up and he'd be restored in no time. "I just...my back hurts. I think I slammed into the rocks a little harder than I thought. That's all." Twisting and wincing then dropping her head back down. She couldn't tell her son, he'd feel so bad.

"Andal, fun." He was pretty thrilled that there was actually going to be some action happening between Malikhai and Kaelin. He'd dropped enough hints already and had attempted to set them up about fifteen different times to no avail. "Making a move, are we? Good for you. Catch her right after potions. She's usually alone in the hallway because her friends are still in another class. Unless you actually want to push through the group and get her that way...?"

Grinning since they both knew which one he'd take. Sideglancing the other elf, he shrugged. "Probably in her room but I wouldn't advise you go in there." Grabbing a servant, he repeated Mykorian's request. "Library. Straight down this hall and then take a right, another left and it's the third door on the right. Don't upset her."

Dhairiss bit his lip as his father looked down, waiting to see what was going to happen and if he was going to be picked up. Daddy had been walking away from him and not been paying attentio to him for days and he didn't like it. Daddy did that when he was angry...and if he was angry...thoughts were redirected as he was picked up and settled gently. He nodded and pointed to the stairs. "Mommy's still in bed." He covered his mouth in that childish way before a cough. "Hurts here." Patting a hand against his chest before fiddling with his fingers in that 'I'm about to ask a question' way. "Breakfast?" Hesitant and wary tone as if breakfast was something he had been denied lately when asked for.

"He didn't mean to hurt you." Though they already knew that...if anyone stepped back and examined things they would see that Zykariel was very protective of his father when Sevilin couldn't protect himself or was hurt. Sitting up he slipped his hands under their son and strategically moved him before pulling Zahara over as well, letting her sit between his legs with her back to him as he laid his hands to her pack, seeking out that sore spot to soothe it.

"Hey, always go for the easy route first." Nodding and giving his friend a grin. "I figure that if I ever wanna get anywhere I have to get around her pack of scary friends first. If you can't join them, strife around him and attack at the flank so to speak." Grinning and what not. "I'm sure you'll have something to tease me about by the end of that day." Blinking at Mykorian and watching him go off. "Isn't that that kid that your sister has the hots for?"

"Yeah yeah." Waving off the teenager and heading off where he was told to go, slipping into the library he spotted the girl in the room and walked over to her, approaching quietly and then poking her in the shoulder to let her know that he was here.

"How bad is it?"

Picking his son up and carrying him to the kitchen where Fianna was, and setting him down in his chair and getting him cider.

"and what do you want for breakfast?"

looking over at Fianna.

"how's your ankle? And I have some questions about how bringing guests to Andal works."

Okay well, so far so good, right? Right. But he wrinkled his nose a moment as he tried to figure how much it hurt as they made their trip to the kitchen, only to be set down again...and look at that his favorite treat. "Like Yinn sittin' on me." They had had that issue before and Dhairiss had been quite upset over it. That thing was heavy for a child his size. A few looks back and forth between it and Malik as if waiting to be told he couldn't have it before he finally reached out and pulled his cup to him, rather greedily nursing his drink till it was almost gone on that first go. "Cheese eggs?" Always question in hopeful tones.

She smiled to the two as they came and settled into her space just as she was starting to tuck away papers and what not. "Morning boys, already with noses in the food hm?" Giving another grin to Dhairiss before a look to Malik with a nod. "It's just fine. And do ask away, I'll do my best to answer."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 8:18 pm

"Cheese eggs it is then."

yes he did notice the glances and such. but chose to ignore them for the time being. and getting him another cup of cider, and settling down by him while giving a look to Fianna.

"I was thinking to take that vacation to Andal, and was also going to try and get Malikhai's would be girlfriend to join us, let the kids do what they do. hwo would you go about arranging that without possibly getting one of you two people in trouble."

Placing his hand on his son's chest, and trying a siphon of pain from his son to him. after all what hurts his son was not nearly so bad on him. and it might give him a better idea of what was hurting.

"It wasn't his fault anyway. I've been lax about defense and I didn't stop myself in time. My own fault I slammed into the cave wall and bruised-" Cutting off as he pressed it and she made another noise, wincing from the pain. "Bruised it." She really wanted to pop him for that one but knew he hadn't meant to do it. Resting her hands on his knees, she let him knead the sore muscles and try and soothe the bruises. "Ready to tell me about the deal you made?"

"I figured as much, that's why I studied her schedule and found the best time to approach her." He watched Mykorian stroll off and shook his head. "One she fought at the tournament, yeah." And the one that his dad had found sleeping in her room. "She better not have the hots for him or I'm going to break his legs."

She startled slightly as she was poked, turning her head and glancing at him then going back to gazing off into space. A moment passed and then she seemed to almost come alive, jumping up and hugging him tightly. "Mykorian! I knew I saw you there but I thought you were just another one of those things."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 8:34 pm

Another cough from him though be it from the pain in his chest or from trying to put down cider too fast was debatable. Setting the quickly emptied cup down, he was quite happy that it was refilled quickly. Okay so this must mean it's okay for us to take our time with it. Giving a little noise as if worried for a moment as Malik laid his hand on the boy's chest seeking to relieve that achey pressure from the boy which to him felt much like he'd be constantly coughing for a week. Not a fun feeling. But he settled when he did notice that ebbing in the pain and took to drinking his cider again.

She grinned. "Piper is right, you really do like playing matchmaker in your free time." Chuckling lightly to that before sitting back in her chair, resting her hands in her lap. Royal habits. "Well...I wouldn't think it would be any trouble at all. They're just children...or is she drow and that's what you're worried about when they go on plane?"

"He was just worried about me is all. You know how irrational teenagers are. Sorry." Apologizing as he found that spot he was looking for on her person and gently took to trying to work the pain some from that spot with gentle motions of fingertips. "Well...I told Zykariel that he can race as much as he wants and I won't say a word...and that he won't be punished for not attending the classes he feels he doesn't need to attend to. But he has to either give up something for those rights or do something for those rights."

He laughed at that. "Oh she does. She was practically hanging all over him last time they were around and she healed him back in the valley when she knew she wasn't supposed to. She's got that look that she gets when she thinks about boys at school. Like the one that gave her that rock that one time."

A blink as she looked to him and then looked away...and then she jumped him with a hug and he stumbled a little but managed to keep his feet and returned her hug with a smile. It was good to see that she was okay. "No I was there. I still got the limp to prove it. I didn't get to check on you yesterday, Galesen took me off before I could. Are you okay?"

"Only some of the time. and I wouldn't say that, but just didn't want someone to do something silly and have you or Kieran get in trouble for it, is all."

handing over the cheese eggs and getting himself some breakfast.

"You hungry? and is piper alright, she normally doesn't sleep this late. adn the smell of cooking food usually has her down here. just to make sure someone it's trying to cook that almost burned down the kitchen."

Namely his oldest.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 9:32 pm

"I do." She winced a few more times but steadily relaxed and focused on the deal to take her mind off the slight twinges of pain and discomfort. "So...you're letting him quit school if he wants to race all the time and he has to give up something in return." That sounded about right. "You're letting him quit school. You, who is all about the education and making sure they learn what they need to learn, are letting him quit? Why?"

He growled under his breath and glanced back at the library ready to go kick a small elf's butt and threaten him within an inch of his life. He didn't trust his sister and he certainly didn't trust that elf but neither did he have time to play big brother and with Malikhai's plans, well, he was torn. "She better not do anything or I'll personally put her in the ground. Come on, before I change my mind and decide to blow school off and kill him."

"You have a limp? I thought I healed you completely..." Was she losing her touch on top of everything else? "Well, I'm glad...that you were there, not that you got hurt or anything." Letting out a breath and then plopping back down and slumping against the back of the couch in a more relaxed fashion. "You wanted to check on me? How sweet." Pausing a minute as she thought about it, she nodded. "I think so. Just thinking, really. Does that mean that you're staying down here for a little while?"

Picking up his fork he dug in, probably eating too fast or at least a lot faster than what he usually did. He was hungry and that was all that mattered at the moment. It was good food too. A pause from time to time to cough or drink some cider.

"Children are granted some leeway, but I'm sure Malikhai is responsible enough to not do anything that would get me or Kieran in trouble. And just to spite that beloved elf of mine, I'll contract you all under solely my name this time. Tyyreal trusts me more anyway to not goof off as much as Kieran has the tendency to when he has free time to play around. You all will be fine." smiling softly. "I already ate, thank you. And I know she's okay...she's just drained is all from soul stress as well as trying to keep herself together through it all. Emotional fatigue." Small chuckle though. "Burning down kitchens...everytime I visit there's something amsuing isn't there?"

"I didn't say he's quitting school. I said he could selectively choose what he wanted to go to and what he didn't...if he doesn't want to go to any of them...well then that's his choice and possible mistake to make." Quieting for a moment...after all it was easy to see how his wife was astonished about it. "Because I'm tired of us fighting and of him thinking that I want him to be someone he's not. He's smart, he can figure it all out...there's no need to drag him down with some things."

"Right right, we're off then." Giving a grin to Keely as she popped up with both breakfast on the go for them and lunch as well, seeing them out. She usually did that. Heading out with his friend to the stables, they pulled out their horses and mounted up. "Come on, we'll run off all that steam of yours."

"You did, but that doesn't mean pain isn't left. Sword went all the way through my leg. It's understandable." Watching her plop back he sat down next to her casually, turning some to face her so that he could talk to her better. He bit his lips. "They all know about my parents...I don't think they'd let me go off even if I wanted to. Right now I'm apparently staying with Galesen so yeah, I'm down here for quite a bit of time."

She digested that and seriously considered his thought process on the decision but still couldn't wrap her mind around the option she'd given him. "But he's a teenager who hates school, Sevilin. Are we really going to let him ruin his life because he's headstrong and foolish? That's the reason we are his parents. To tell him where to go and what to do because we do know more than he does and we know what's best for him. Right?"

He took his breakfast and his lunch, hopping up on Destyny and letting her have her head all the way to the school. No quick jumps, they ran the whole way and it felt good. Now he just had another day to suffer through. "Malikhai, did your dad say anything to you about staying at school? I don't know how long you two decided to try it out for but your time is about up, right?"

She had to think for a moment but recognition dawned and she frowned. "Well, that's not good, is it?" Reaching out and lightly resting a hand on top of his. "Are you okay with that? You don't seem like it..." She knew that between her parents and her aunt and uncle they could all come on a little strong and that was likely what he was feeling. "I'm kinda glad. I missed you."

"And I still think he shouldn't have been put in prison for my little bit of showboating or the items I brought in council. and I still think I owe the brigade master a good solid pat on the back with a Harm Touch."

A slight nod.

"At least she's alright and recovering. I was about to go kill that thing in the basement if that was the reason. don't need another repeat of that reverie for three days straight trick. and it was a little while ago. he'd been trying to cook who knows what, and we smelled smoke. I came running downstairs thinking something that breathes fire had gotten int eh house, and there he is, cussing and trying to put out flames that were licking cabinets and starting to move across counters. so I had the counters overlaid with cobalt. looks nice, but stone also doesn't burn."

glancing as the boys left.

"Hence the reason why Keely brings them breakfast and has lunches prepared before he leaves."

then looking to his youngest.

"You want more, or is that enough for you?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:25 pm

"Do we know more when it comes to this? You may know, but I didn't get that sort of educational opportunity when I was growing up so I have no comparison. As much as I want to force it on him, I can't make him live the life I never had either. Besides...we talked about it. He's not being headstrong, he's being reasonable and I understand where he's coming from."

Stabling their horses he wandered in with his friend. "We haven't really talked about it anymore. He's preoccupied with things right now and probably even more so since things happened with Dhairiss and all. "So, I dunno what's going on with that, why?"

He shrugged. "I haven't decided if it's good or not yet. It kinda seems like they're already trying to take care of me. I don't need anyone to take care of me, I've been just fine." Denial, eh he was a preteen. But he gave her a smile. "I missed you too. You're my first friend you know. So I guess that's the good thing about staying down here, we get to hang out and what not."

She held up a hand. "Malik, it was Council. Other circumstances or time and place they probably would of let you off the hook and Kieran as well, but they take Council very serious. Leave it well enough alone." But she gave a chuckle at the little story...children trying to take care of themselves. They always found out the hard way that things were much harder than they appeared. "Have to love being a parent, don't you?"

He had cleared his plate and also drained his glass, wiping at his mouth with his napkin. A look to his father, and a little bit of a smile. "I'm full. Thank you." Remembering his manners and then sitting quietly.

Clearing her throat, she looked to her grandson. "Dhairiss, do you want to spend the day with grandma?"

A look to his father. "Can I?"

He did have a point there and she hadn't actually talked to her son about it. Dammit, she was losing. "And you really think that this is a good idea?" Obviously so because he'd already made the deal. Sighing, she reached out and picked up Kelligrin as he began fussing, cuddling him close to her and soothing him. "So what's his end of the deal?"

"Yeah, I should have thought about that." Shaking his head and leaning against the side of the stables, giving nods when his name was called by the others arriving. "My dad and I had a talk. He told me that I can choose what classes I want to attend and skip the ones I don't." Shaking his head. It was still hard to believe that deal had been offered. "I just have to give up something in return. But I don't want to leave you unguarded and whatnot. You haven't gotten all the ropes down yet. And I wouldn't miss this Kaelin thing either."

"Parents are good at that kind of stuff. My own is trying to get me to talk about things and I just don't want to." She knew his situation wasn't as upbeat as he attempted to make it sound but didn't say anything in regards to that. "Yeah, that is kind of neat. Are you going to be going to school then?"
