Alrighty. I'm thinking of taking some horses from the LotR range, and converting some Cadians, then.

Go with WHFB, LotR is a slighty different scale, more realistic and not as "all's fair, Mr 7 Foot Marine."
Plus there's more horse heads for special characters etc.

On that note be sure to shop around a bit. There are armoured, unarmoured, chaos, etc. horses.

Oh!
Do the LOTR horses.
they ride ponys instead of monster steeds...

I'm going to make Rough Riders for my Lost and the DAmned army. I was thinking of using the Giant Rats from Inquisitor.

Review the last few posts, LOTR is smaller scale than 40k, so it won't work. 3nodding

I know, I was just kidding...

So I've got some Imperials but I'm not sure exactly how I want to focus my army. Any pros around here that can help would be great. I'm thinking of fielding entirely Last Chancers/Storm Troopers/Heavy Weapon Squad army. So low numbers but tons of speacial/heavy weapons biggrin anyone tried this?

Vostroyans are similar. S'why they made them metal. You'd not need as many, because they're like Hardened Fighters with Carapace Armour, so they're really expensive points wise.

Kay I got some models together I think this should work 3nodding or atleast I hope so because its not the standard Imperial build and with my current budget I can't field standard force organization because HQ looked too beautiful. Anyways

HQ- Command Squad /w Commissar
Special Weapon Squad /w 3 Plasma
Special Weapon Squad /w 3 Melta
Fire Support Squad- 3 Heavy Bolters
Anti-Tank Squad- 3 Missile Launcher
Sentinel Support Squadron- 3 Sentinels

Troop
Infantry Squad (x3)- 10 Guardsmen

Heavy Support
Basilisk
Leman Russ Tank

So yeah this doesn't really fit because the guardsmen are technically illegal like that xd But anyways the general idea is the guardsmen are meat shield for everything else and sentinels take out big stuff in first turn with scout ability. Yes?

You're running a delicate list. First off though, what pattern are the sentinals?cadian, catchan, mars or armageddon? I'm going to assume armegeddon, because it sounds like you're running AT. The sentinals can only fire at one vehicle in the first turn, so you're best-case scenario is that you kill one enemy vehicle turn 1. The main issue with this list is that you have very little long range capability. Your only long range support is a tank, a basilisk and those missles. Expect your sentinals to die turn one. They're 175 points worth of vehicle, that can be killed by most armies basic troops. Even the lowly spinegaunt can take one down (w/ P-sacs). Be very careful with this list. And I would suggest leaving a squad of troops with your Russ and/or your bassilisk, to stop deep-strikers/infiltrators from tying them up in CC. If you want to go into in-depth tactics, PM me.

You're also running an illegal list.

I know you mentioned that, but I think it'd be better if you decided to go and get another troop choice.

You need 1 Command Platoon with at least 1 Command Squad, and 2 Infanty Platoons of at least 2 Infantry Squads and 1 Command Squad before you can even start.

I think that you need to make your list legal.

And also, not so HQ heavy.
