"The very same." He grunted. "Now, over the past two weeks, I've produced a device that can detect strong amounts of magical energy. And by 'produced a device', I mean I remembered that one of the Sonic screwdriver's functions does exactly that."

"Do you have any interesting stories from before you met me?" Mala asked after a moment of thought. She knew she had a couple of stories about some things that happened before she met Van - although most involved accidental injuries during harsh labour. One of which being incredibly painful and resulting in her current sterility.

"Oh!" She giggled and clapped happily, jumping a little. "Can I see it? I'm not sure if my sonic screwdriver does that." She put on her glasses.

"Well, let's see, there's--" Van began as he set her down on the bed and sat down next to her when he realized something. He really didn't have any memories before godhood at all. He was a big-time thief who became a god, and yet all he could remember was the gods' offer. "Heh, I probably do have some interesting stories...." he said as he hung his head with a sad smile. "...I just wish I could remember them."
"Angel, I don't think it's possible for anyone to not love you." Riley said putting an arm around her shoulders. She was cute, adorable, and he found himself having a damn hard time saying no to her. Sounded like love to him.

She smiled, and hugged him best she could while still holding Jez. "Good. 'Cause I love you. We'll have to wait until after the adventure to get married, though, 'cause we won't have time during the adventure. If we did, it wouldn't be an adventure."

The Recorder pressed a button, causing the familiar, beautiful tone of the screwdriver. "I love that sound," he said. "Have I mentioned that?"

"O-oh! Don't worry about it, okay? I only have injury stories anyway, so don't feel bad." Mala said, trying to cheer Van up a little. She reached her hand over to lift Van's head up, not letting him act all gloomy like that.

"At least you've got stories to tell." Van said, trying to put on a brighter smile for Mala, but obviously failing at it.

"You just did," the Librarian said. "So... wanna have sex?" She was a bit needing of action, since she hadn't got any for six hundred years. "Like, seriously. The last time I had sex was, well, with Romana, a few centuries ago."

"It's better not to have stories that mainly consist of concussions, nearly ripping your arm off, and how I became sterile to begin with." Mala said, sighing. Her smile faded completely by now.

"Then if you became sterile, there should be a way to make you un-sterile." Strangest change of topic ever, but it was better than lingering on the apparently depressing subject of memories. "And if we somehow do have kids, I sure as hell hope the process won't be as...bizarre, as Angel's."
"I wonder if we should just make it a double wedding. It's pretty obvious Mala and Van are going to tie the knot eventually." Riley said teasingly, even if the pair weren't in the room.

"Maybe. It'd require a damn good healer, though, since I've been living with it for so long. As for birthing, I promise you it won't be as strange as Angel's." Mala said, thinking for a moment. "I was taking a break after long, hard leighboring - I was fourteen at the time I think. I leaned back and stared at the sky, only to see that someone atop the roof above me had accidentally let their old keystone roll off of the roof and fall down. Before I could move, it landed in my lap and shattered my pelvic area. I was surprised I could walk at all after the healer did what they could. It just wasn't enough, though, and ever since then...you know the rest." she remembered, almost acting as if it were nothing. "It hurt like bloody hell."

"That was a non sequitur." The Recorder chuckled. "Perhaps. Later of course, when my intellectual curiosity hasn't outweighed my seven-hundred year desire for sex. And trust me, that'll be a while." He exited the TARDIS, screwdriver pointed in the approximate direction of the nearest magical energy source. Say what you would about them, they make sure you're prepared for every contingency.

The Librarian exited behind the Recorder, and said, "Hold on. I have to lock the TARDIS." She pressed on the key, and the TARDIS made a car's locking noise. "Get it? Lock it? Tee hee." She giggled and then was serious. "All right. Let's go."
