Damian liked this idea and began laughing as he held her close again. This idea of being with her for that long wasn't a bad thing at all. They just had to keep everything together and truly trust one another. Easier said than done, but it should work out, he thought.
"I love you. Want to get dressed and get something to eat, though? I'm starving."
"That's why I never really believed that he loved me. I didn't change him like Raquel did. She's the one who's done wonders. Now for you, I wasn't trying, but we've come a long way, too, yeah? I'm not the shy little mouse I once was."
Lorey could be brave and outgoing, and sometimes even alluring. Before Richard, she never would have dreamed of making a man blush. He was just the right person to make her feel beautiful and wanted and loved.

Raquel smiled nodding to that plan. "I am feeling rather peckish...what time is it anyhow love?" She asked, reluctantly pulling the sheet off of both of them, making both of their hair to stick out randomly. She could help but laugh at that, leaning up to kiss him sweetly, before crawling out of bed. *Not sure how clothed she is? o.o?* She smiled back at him while looking for her clothing which he had quickly gotten off her just hours ago.
Richard smiled nodding and kissing her head. "And I'm not the impulsive, bad tempered vigilante who always needed a drink or a smoke..." He laughed lightly, staring up at the ceiling in wonder. "I dont know how you did it...but I love that you did..." He smirked.

"Who knows..." Damian crawled out of bed, found his boxers and put them on again, before trying to find his pants. "But I know I need food in me. We left, came home, made love and I had no breakfast before all that for the sake of tests."
Needless to say, Damian wanted a wonderful meal in him right that moment.
"I'm so proud of you for quitting," Lorey whispered. "You've no idea. Everything we've been through and you managed it."
She remembered all their fights and terrors that sent him into a chain smoking episode, or right to the bottle. But he stopped, all for her. What had she done for him, though? Besides thinking more of herself.

Raquel had managed to get her jeans on, then located her bra. slipping it on before coming up to him. "Aw...poor baby..." She cooed, tapping his cheek with her hand jokingly, though really knew the poor thing must be starved. "I know, we'll get some meet on that small frame of yours..." She winked, kissing him gently before pulling away, picking up his cane and setting it against the bed for him to get easier, as well as just picking up around the room, since they did make a mess of things before fooling around. She did finally locate her shirt while cleaning, simply waiting for Damian to dress himself.
Richard frowned with a sigh. "It's tough Lorey... It really is... I wont lie to you, I've sat and just stared at a single cigarette, wanting so bad to jstu light up even just a short one... but... I know that besides the fact I promised you, It really is better if I dont..." He sighed. "I think... I started only...9 years ago? Before Rose died. I was having a rough time with work... really rough. Things were just so stressful and I was going slightly insane. Smoking was my only release that didn't seem to cause too much damage. Rose hated it and always wanted me to quit..but I always hid it from her..." He furrowed his brow, guilty he had lied. "But I cant do that to you... I know I need to stop, and I'd do anything for you..." He sighed. "I have felt... better though. Since Stopping... its ... nice." He nodded, as if he were trying to convince himself.

He did get dressed with his cane being the last addition to his outfit of jeans and a blue shirt. Damian turned around once carefully before presenting himself to her once more.
"So, my dear, does the cane make me look crippled or distinguished?"
Lorey understood. Stress had been an every day thing for so, so long that she barely noticed when her shoulders were tensing or when her eyes took on a wearied light. Richard must have accepted it as well at some point to become the disgruntled man she had met.
"My mother used to smoke a lot, too. But, I always forgave her since she seemed to really need the relaxation... But, I'm starting to actually get mad at her after all these years."
Lorey scrunched up her face against his chest before going on. She'd never really talked to anyone about this, but it was time to.
"She was the kind of stubborn person who wouldn't accept help from anyone. Not even the city, when she could have gotten checks. Things could have been that much easier, but she was always convinced that we would get promoted or get some kind o big break. It never happened, though, and when she was murdered, I was left with all her work and bills. It was terrible. And all I had to comfort myself were forgotten books and the bits of music I heard here and there. I said I wasn't going to be like her... and I'm not."

Raquel laughed, giving him a look up and down as she slipped her own shirt on. "I think its rather sexy. You've got this old school victorian look going on. All you need now is one of your suits and a top hat." She winked, coming up to give him a quick hug.
If she thought about it, it had been a very long time since she had seen Damian in a suit. Probably since the night of the Ball that Chase assaulted her. She had to admit she missed it slightly.
Richard put one hand behind her head, the other around her so he could somewhat cradle her. "No Lorey...You're not..." He whispered, knowing she had been through hell and back, and was so proud of her for the progress she had made.
"You're so....I don't know... strong? Stable? After everything you've been through... You've fought your way out and I'm so so proud of you...." He just held her for a minute, not knowing what else to say.

"It will be a sad day when I no longer need it then, eh?" He took a few hobbling steps towards Raquel. He brought her in close with his free arm and kissed her, but kept it sweet with all the love he could put into such a small thing. When he pulled back, his silver eyes were shimmering. Maybe it was the lighting, or his contentment, but they were shining with a light only Raquel could see. The rest of the world would have to be content with their warped views of Centurion.
"You've been through more," she murmured against him. "And I am so proud of you, for coming out alive. My Richard."
Lorey discounted herself and all she'd been through still, though she did have to admit that it was a great deal to have gone through and it was over. Perhaps that was what it was. It was over, and there was no sense in glorifying some triumph from the past.

Raquel let the silence take over for a moment as she took in Damian. Just the small things about him that made her so happy. Everything right at that moment was so perfect... it was lovely. After a short pause, she leaned up, kissing the corner of his mouth sweetly, before just, hugging him. Nothing romantic or passionate... just... a hug, taking in the comfort of just holding him.
Again, after letting it linger for a moment, she pulled away, and just smiled at him. "Come on... lets go get you something to eat hm?" She smiled, heading towards the door.
Richard said nothing to that, simply holding her a moment. "...My Lorey..." He whispered finally, in return. Though that was all he could say. She knew his heart and he knew hers. It was as if they could almsot speak without talking. He loved her dearly for that.

The trip from his room to the kitchen was full of hobbling steps. Once Raquel had to catch him and get him stable before his knee gave out, but they did make it to their beloved automatic room in good time.
"Ah," he breathed as he sat down. "I'm thankful for walking again, but that shouldn't have been nearly so difficult."
Lorey closed her eyes again. this was safety, and contentment. If they wanted to go get food or be together somewhere else, they would. But there was no need at the moment, and both understood that.

Raquel gave him a kind, encouraging smile. "It'll get easier darling. You did just get them off today. You haven't had time to exercise or strengthen your leg. I mean... right after you had it taken off, we wheeled you to the speeder, drove home, then stumbled to your room..." She blushed though laughed a little, going to order some lunch up for them. "Anything you'd like?" She asked briefly over her shoulder.

"That was exercise," he said coyly. But Damian let it go after that, because she was right. He was expecting a great healing when it would take more time. He should have been thankful that modern medicine had brought him this far, or he'd still be in the hospital bed suffering.
"Anyhow! I would love some eggs and toast for starters. Coffee, definitely. And to know how the house is doing in Druis... I've barely been awake to hear any of that."

Raquel just shook her head, entering in the code for his food, as well as something simple for her. "I'm not sure...From what I heard, everything was going well...." She shrugged, not really hearing much herself. During Richard's visits, she was usually busy taking care of Damian while Richard merely spent all his time with Lorey. So she knew about as much as Damian in that category.
When the food was finished, she brought the various plates over to Damian, before retrieving her own bit of fruit salad and a bagel.

"I hope everything works out between them. Sometimes... I wonder if their relationship is too good to be true. Richard has a lot of bad habits that he's kicked, but if he lets them resurface..."
Damian shook his head. He had his habits, too, and knew not to go back to them. He'd already almost lost Raquel too many times before. Richard must have been the same way, though.
"Perhaps I worry about nothing."

Raquel sat herself down, nodding thoughtfully. "I've thought about it too... I think... They need to be careful. Because, it seems like... Its almsot funny."She picked at the fruit in front of her, thinking without looking up. "You and I.... we seem to have conflict after conflict, but we grow from them and grow closer together. With Richard and Lorey, I've seen some confrontation yes... but...its almost like you said. Too perfect." She sighed, looking up at him. "But I have this strange feeling they'll be fine... He'd do anything for her..." She added to stay positive before biting into her bagel.

"Maybe they've been through enough as it is," Damian said as he gestured with an apple in his right hand. "Both have lost someone they love violently. They both have fought for the other to stay at some point. Maybe... they have just relented and accepted that they're stuck together. Who knows. Only Druis will tell."
He made a decisive bite into the apple. Him and Raquel, yes, they had fought many times. They were the kind of people who needed to be challenged, though. Raquel for her set ways and acceptance of her lot in life, and Damian for his high-society pride and prejudice.
