A friend of mine was able to get the coke belt before they took it off, and she didn't like it. (Not her style.) I asked her if I could have it, and she said sure, but when she went to try, she realized it was soulbound...

Also, yay event! Can't wait until it officially starts.

There's a possibility that the item will become available again and that it will not be soul bound. See separate post about the story of the soul bound coke belt.

I agree that any pure Plagarism is wrong in any such Gaia Contest and at all when it is important for school or in the Gov.

I think the wrong-doer should have a Contest Ban at least for the sort of Contest that involve turning in pics and such to be a winner of said contest.

2)

I think it would have been a good idea for them to have made and put up a substitute item for the Coke Belt.(Gaia Admin I mean)

But for the original item those who got the "Original Item: I think it would be a good idea to allow them to make a choice to either have the newer item or the original one.

Myself, I wouldnt like to on moral ground to equip an item that was made with stolen idea/s being used in its making. But I suppose it would be up to a person's moralitiy and ideals of whats right and wrong in this situation.

I think they should make a written and pyshical apoligy to the person ~LessRuth. And as well to make sure this doesnt happen again as best as they can do.

They should thourly explain the situation to them and what is going to be done to the wrong-doer and in apology to the person who was stolen from and then make a judgement call on the best course of action.

To be entirly fair, I think Gaia and Coke should go back threw the entries and allow the Runners up to be re-judged to be either the Winner or "New" Runners Up.

Happy ending. The original 2007 artist was most gracious. She said gaia had contacted her and she's willing for the item to be used. So where is it? lol This event is unfolding very slowly isn't it?!

Mmm I'd go with something more than giesta's idea of banning from future contests but something a bit short of Kin's whipping and torture. Though that IS appealing. lol I say ban the kid for the duration of the event and assess a penalty in items and gold. I'm pretty sure gaia had to pay the artist for the use of the item.
