[Dill] Shoujo Phoenix Eh. Gaia's too big to be brought down by raids. I doubt it'll be like the "uproar" over WTF hats...which was about nothing. Here's the thing, though. Most raids, such as the ORLY raid, were unmotivated masses. The subeta raids were not. Subeta had desecrated an icon of internet culture, for profit. Seems like a familiar situation, wouldn't you agree? Sure, Gaia's far more secure than Subeta ever was. However, I would never knock down the chan's as being powerless. If they want this raid to happen, it will. It won't bring Gaia down, but it hopefully will send a message as I said. I certainly wouldn't, either. They've certainly given Habbo Hotel hell, that much I can state. But on the other hand: Currently, there are 3343 Habbos online, according to Habbo.com. Right now, at 1:13 EDT? 68,131 Gaians. That's not even our peak, either; we normally hit well over 100,000 Gaians daily. Even assuming that 3/4 of the people online are bots, that's still 17,000 people online. That is, quite literally, a shitton. The town I live in only has 25,000 people. The largest city in my state (Newark) has something like 250,000. Raiding Gaia is a little like trying to raid Myspace, or even Livejournal. (El Jay would be a more appropos scale - though its community is a bit more isolated, it's actually smaller. And some sections are nigh unraidable - /b/ prides itself on being immune to raiding, but I think the Chatterbox, by nature of being highly similar to /b/ in intent, is almost AS unraidable. (And, I've heard figures that /b/ receives 120,000 posts in a day. I'd venture to say that the Chatterbox may receive twice or three times that minimum.) Certainly, I am uncomfortable - a bit - with this appropriation. It feels a bit like selling your fanfiction for profit (which - if ANYONE has even the remotest familiarity with fandom - will know is the #1 taboo). But, on the other hand, as a /b/tard...who the <********> are these underage newfags to demand that they have any more right over Longcat than anyone else? It's kind of like threatening to burn down a plant that makes Jesus fish magnets - find it distasteful and commercializing all you want, but you don't own Jesus any more than I do, and it's not a central tenet of Christianity to not depict the Savior. (Obviously, the rules do change a bit for Islam, where little Mohammed car magnets would be highly taboo.) Plus, you look like an insane d**k and further damage your cause by acting like a dickwad. (Granted, acting like a dickwad is the entire point of 4chan, but it's still being a dickwad.) The administration is going to notice DDoS and other types of attacks, but they're not going to stop what they're doing because of them.

True, which is why if they do attack, they'll probably be focusing more on the more damaging side of the Subeta raid. Attacking the site itself, or tying up the administration. I doubt they'll focus on the admins at all, though. Lanzer hasn't come out and been an obvious dickwad about the situation. Or a lying moneygrubbing camwhore. ... Damn. Now I'm imagining Lanzer as a camwhore. Not good. Oh well. Either way, I'm keeping my eyes open.

Dr. Fomite Brainwashing is blah! I was pretty okay with Storm Shadow in the DD stuff, though. I liked 'im wacky and back on the right (wrong?) side again. The problem was that he was never wacky. That's another thing I think that was invented by the fans in the interim. He went from 'undercover trying to find Hard Masters killer' to 'now I am all spiritual and a Joe and almost as cool as Snake Eyes' to 'brainwashed and now it's over before we do anything at all with this plot line.' I like crazy with a grudge, as inexplicable as it is though. As for Fred... it was fun seeing him being manipulated. It gave Destro a chance to try to make Cobra all corporate... and to run around in a gold helmet and cape. (Last year, at SDCC, they released a 'we realized this was a mistake way back when but now we'll make him' Destro variant. He was magenta where he usually wears black and his red highlights/bumper collar thing was done in leopard. LEOPARD. There was a gold helmet one too.) Quote: ...Oh. Cartoon Snakes dressed in drag, too. Can't forget that. whee Or the horrible, horrible song and dance moment. It always amazed me that no one noticed Snake Eyes when he was in disguise. I thought Flint was bad enough since he would always wear the Cobra blues with his beret still on. Quote: It was supposed to be another 6-issue miniseries until Dreamwave lost the license, so there's only 1 issue available. It's bumped up into an '80s setting, so not a direct follow-up to the original series from what I can tell. Still, for a few dollars more, I figured it was worth having. X3 Ah yes, collapsing under the combined weight of the Transformers and GI Joe licensing. I'm not sure what I think of the 80s setting... I hope if they bumped it to there, they drastically changed the tone to be more Cold Slither. The new Transformers/GI Joe stuff looks actually somewhat fun but I'm still on edge with whether to pick it up or not. It's very candy colorful. I don't really approve of Lady Jaye running around with that much midriff but I have to give them credit for 1) re-doing Snake Eyes origin so he's injured by getting hit in the face with a Decepticon laser beam, lulz and 2) eventually trying to work in Globulus/Pythona and the rest of the cracked out Cobra-La crew into the plot.

Daihouou Peppermint Elf Kinetic Dream LunaInverse Did you know that Stream and I would be on staff? The fact that we both ended up working the Gaia panel wasn't planned, but it was fun anyways. Too bad about your friend, though. I would have laughed my a** off. If you want to try again next year, we're probably working as merchandise staff again. Send your minion to the Dealer's Room. Nabs found us easily enough. xd Stream and I were talking to a friend who was waiting in line for the Masquerade, and then I feel someone tapping on my shoulder and asking 'Are you Luna?" I was thrown for a second, because I'm like "Huh?" (I was wearing my staff T-shirt at the time, so we usually had people asking us questions), and then I remembered what my Gaia name was. rofl So I said "Yeah, I'm Luna." And she's all "I'm Nabs!" Lots of lulz and hugs all around. No, that's probably why she missed. xd Anyway, sounds like a good time, glad you three were able to meet up. 3nodding It was kinda funny how Luna replied when I asked if she was Luna. "Y...... eeeeeeesss? gonk " She looked almost terrified. xd Like I could tell what her Gaia name was just by walking past her.
"Gaia sense... tingling! eek " Nabs is creepy stalkerI'm not used to people I don't recognize coming up to me and calling me by my Gaian name...especially when my back is to them... rofl And Nabs can stalk me anytime.
