Streamjumper Kinetic Dream Hey guys... Stream's gonna be at the AB gaia panel, right? ninja Not only was I there, but as the price for using my staff authority to skip the line (and give a few more Gaians who waited in said line a chance to get in, since it was limited to seating with no attendees allowed to stand), I effectively worked at the panel as an usher. I found it pretty amusing that I shepherd Gaians online and ended up shepherding them in public too... crying Mission... FAILED

So, devious Kin plot entailed a total stranger going up to Stream, with the first chapter of the scripture printed out, shouting, "Mister Gator! Mister Streamgator? Can I get your autograph? I brought a red pen!"
My minion lost her voice the day she arrived, and could not find him at the Gaia panel crying

So, I finally finished Dai-Guard. (Sorry, things have been kind of hectic around here.) All in all, good fun. I especially liked the handling of the characters. Ibuki's story was perhaps the freshest of the lot, which makes it sad that they had to wrap it up during an 'all the good artists are working on the finale' episode. I also liked the slow but steady growth of all the side characters. Though you've got to like Shirota, I think Ooyama wins over all. I'll always root for her.
Most of the corporate stuff fell a little flat with me. I've been rewatching Planetes with a friend and it's really hard to compare there. It was a nice spin for a while though.
The battles had their moments. A lot of them are the standard 'find the trick' but a few of them really hit the sweet spot in terms of making stock animation seem as glorious as ever.
Spoilers: I think the high part of the series for me was in the middle, before Saeki showed up. The episode where Akagi and Shirota have ramen and then Akagi hurts his leg was also a highlight.
I was kind of surprised it didn't offer any real closure but at the same time a bit glad because I didn't think it really had time to at that point. I dislike it when a series suddenly and strangely wraps up in the last three episodes with stuff that has not been touched upon in the previous 23.
In the later half, I did really like when the team of ice sculpture army peoples came to dig Dai-Guard out. That was pretty cool.
Sadly, like many shows, it suffers from "poor sell on the first disc alone." As I said before, it takes a few episodes before it get past mediocre and into what makes it special.
While I'm on the subject of anime, a spoiler-y Gundam00 message to Lockon: Your Gundam is hosed for the time being. Stop being stupid and go heal your eye. (Also, avoid all traps on the way directly to Feldt, kthxbye.)
Hrm... now to figure out what to watch next... of course, Spring season is right around the corner...

Yeah, the ramen episode was excellent. I also enjoyed the onsen ep.
Don't read this second part if you're a little behind in Gundam 00's eps.
As for the message to Lockon... insert manly tears here.

Skizzors ooh~ this looks pretty cool! Yeah, I was kinda interested in it too... Is it just me or does the guy who turns into the scythe (I think he's actually named Soul Eater) look vaguely like he could be one of the Gorillaz?

I think it's just the way they shaded his forehead a couple times. I really like the pigtails-girl. And the two guys at 2:09.

Oh man. Having been to AMV competitions, I can imagine what the reactions to the first video would have been just as funny, if not moreso, than the video itself. I found it to be pretty funny (if for no other reason than that being the best use of reusing your own edited footage that I've ever seen. XD), but that was tempered by me only having a passing knowledge of the 4chan joke it plays off of. The second one I really liked. Song works, good editing, good synching, and all around, really enjoyable.
