"I'm sure sooner or later you'll get over the cravings and never need another cigarette again," she said encouragingly, hoping that Sil wasn't someone who lost their temper when quitting. Kiah had known a few people who snapped at the most unoffending comments simply because they hadn't smoked for a week.
"Maybe we should throw a Lenalee dummy over enemy lines and see what he does. I wonder if you can change akuma into cute little animals." She was obviously joking, but still had a nagging thought that if it was for his sister, Komui would end up creating it.
Kiah followed behind Sil warily without replying, not liking the looks of the alleyway. She put her hand to her holster, expecting something to jump out at them, but didn't want to be seen taking it out for no reason. After what felt like an hour, they made it to the other side where Sil pointed out the pub lit up by various signs. Walking over the threshold, Kiah looked around the room, noticing the tables with poker players in the middle of the room immediately. Off to the right she could see the bar where the bar tender was flipping bottles with well-practiced throws in front of the people on the stools, hearing a few exclamations over the music and chatter. On the dancefloor to the left, she could see many people dancing, and giggled a little at the brave souls who had drunk a little too much beforehand, and were now stumbling around. "Are you going to drink before you play?"
(( Welcome back Jack and Star. Slow Kiah is slow. :c ))

((Hi Star c: Welcome home! Sorry, I keep getting distracted by Futurama.
To answer Kiah's question... yes... yes she is one of those people. LOL.))
Moving through he alleyway seemed to have little affect on Sil's nerves, likely because of her job as an Exorcist. Dark streets and late nights were in the job description whether they liked it or not, and more than once she had to sit in an alley much like this one and simply wait and listen to the whisper of the town to tell her where she needed to go. When not in her uniform she still felt the same way about it, though looked a lot more normal.
As they entered the bar, Sil grinned at the sight of all the people up so late in the evening and clapped a hand on Kiah's shoulder with a gentle squeeze. "You always drink before you gamble," she told her, winking once. "Or at least pretend to drink. You'll be underestimated if you seem drunk, makes sweeping them a lot easier."
She headed over to the bar and ordered a sherry, placing some shillings on the counter with a clink to pay for it. "You ever come to places like this Kiah?" The young woman asked with amusement on her features; she clearly thought Kiah didn't tend to frequent such areas of the world. "You don't seem much like the type to gamble or anything. It's a skill, though, when you're down on your luck and really need money."

(( Jack: Thank you! :'D Liv said it was ominous. : P
Sil: I knew it!!!
ALL HAIL NETFLIX! : D))
"You must have done this more than a few time, then..." Kiah said, trying to process this information. She'd never been one for gambling, opting for good old fashion hard work instead when she'd needed a little extra cash. Though she supposed it was pretty easy to get a job back where she used to live when everyone knew you.
Kiah followed Sil's lead, asking for the same thing, knowing that it would be the only drink she had tonight. "I really don't go to pubs much... I guess I've never really needed to." She simply shrugged and sat on a stool, waiting for their drinks to come. "I've never actually gambled before... So I don't suppose I can help much."

((Wheeeeeeee I love netflix. It's not mine though <_< *has access to her friends netflix.*))
Sil was honestly pleased to hear that Kiah hadn't a reason to gamble so far in her lifetime. Most people who gambled either enjoyed it or were desperate, and desperate seemed to be the more common occurring in their world. "That's good. You must've come from a nice place if that's true," Sil said with honesty in her voice, and as the drinks came out to them she smiled and sipped the sherry. She thought for a moment, realizing she honestly didn't know that much about Kiah and her life before The Order. Part of her was hesitant to ask, but another part of her wanted to know the girl better. They had spent a fair amount of time together but never really spoke much of anything that delved deeper than the surface. "You said you were from the states, right...? Where are you from?"

(( XD Niiiicccceeeee! ))
"It's pretty nice there, yes. Lots of land, but not so many people." Kiah took a sip of her own sherry when it arrived, picking it because she'd never tried it before, and scrunched her face up at the taste. She wasn't nervous about to questions Sil was asking in the least, knowing she could divert Sil's attention if the conversation wasn't going the way she wanted. "Mmm hmm. From Minnesota, the land of lakes and trees," she said while grinning.

At the mention of the state Kiah was from, Sil's face went blank as she tried to figure out where Minnesota even was on a map of the United States. "... Is... that a place with a lot of cows? I think we passed a place like that on a train, once..." As far as open plain states without large cities in them, Sil had very little experience other than the small towns she had been exposed to in Europe. Trips back to the United States in this branch were not numerous and she hadn't set foot on American soil in nearly a decade, unless she counted the North American branch. "What do you do in a place like that?" Though the question could be taken with insult, Sil was honestly curious. It was clear that she had not grown up living the rural lifestyle. "You know, for... fun, or whatever."
