They passed some of the rooms before coming across the Obstacle Course Room. Erin stopped there and looked at the sign for a second. An obstacle course sounded fun, and they could time each other, or race. He looked at Michiyo and and shrugged.
"Wanna start with the obstacle course? We can race," he smirked a little, "But I doubt it'll be much of a race anyway, I'm pretty fast."
He opened the door and the sound of all kinds of mechanics hit him. It appeared that Komui had set up the course, and included moving parts. He was slightly taken aback as he had expected things like walls or fences for climbing, or other similar things like you would see for the military. The chinking and swishing of metal sounded slightly ominous, but he entered the room anyway, trying to determine where exactly the start of the course was. He looked around and finally noticed a diagram on the wall with some labels and instructions underneath.

Soma awoke later in the day than normal. Reaching over, he noticed the other side of the bed was cold. Considering the time, it was to be expected. He pulled off the sheet slowly and got to his feet. Scanning the room quickly, he picked up each of his articles of clothing one by one and dressed himself. He hadn't been seen the day before so wearing the same clothes two days in a row wouldn't be 'frowned' upon. He did his best to fix his scarcely displaced hair. Satisfied with his work, he made his way to the door.
He opened the door slowly and quietly, peaking his head out. He listened for a moment and exited the room. Soma was cautious in his travels, favoring paranoid. It helped more than it hurt. Reaching each corner, he peered around before turning or crossing it. From an out of sight position, he listened to some chatter in the common room. At this distance, he couldn't be certain of their identities. The mentioned 'sparring.' Perfect. he thought with an eyebrow raised.
Soma followed them from a safe distance. He listened intently. Not to their banter, but for any one else. The pair stopped at a door and Soma halted at the closest corner, letting a single eye peak around the corner to watch. They entered the room. He came from around the corner and advanced to the door. He placed a hand on the door but waited to open it. Placing an ear to the door, he listened and could hear sounds of metals scraping against one another. He waited another moment and precariously opened the door. Soma entered with the same care. Once inside, he hid behind the closest obstacle and observed the pair closely.

"We'll see about that," was all she could say before the door opened and something that sounded more like an engine room than a training hall appeared. She followed him inside, mouth slightly agape as her eyes tried and failed to take in what seemed like more than two dozen moving and stationary parts, all intertwined and swung round each other. There appeared to be no clear start and finish. Noticing Erin had moved towards something on the wall, she walked over to join him, frowning at the picture on the wall. It had a name signed in the corner, and she groaned slightly. Komui, of course. Who else would build what seemed like the crash course from hell?
The instructions below detailed the route that should be followed, and marked some of the obstacles by name, even though they were hardly explanatory. "The Nightingale's Song?" she read aloud, finger pointing it out on the chart, "That doesn't sound very... obstacle-like." The designated route swiveled and swerved through the room, and it would be hard to remember all that while trying to overcome them. "So, it looks like the starting point is... over there?" She pointed towards a thick red line painted onto the flagstones.

The opening and closing of the door after them went unnoticed as the machine sounds were loud enough to mask it. He followed Michiyo's gaze to the starting point and nodded. He walked over and stood there for some time, stretching all his muscles. He didn't want to pull anything, and always took the utmost care to prepare his body before a workout. It seemed the first obstacle was a tall rock wall, and from the diagram it was unclear what lie on the other side. Erin didn't let that bother him though, as he figured he would handle whatever lie ahead. He pulled back his one long sleeve over his wrist to reveal a watch. He pressed some buttons and looked at Michiyo.
"Ready to race? I'll time us, too, just to see how long it takes us," he grinned.

She joined him at the starting line, standing a bit uselessly until she noticed him stretching and hastily followed his example. She had never been one to really exercise and when she did it was never strenuous enough to pull something, so she never bothered stretching beforehand.
The rock wall in front of them seemed harmless enough, even if the sides were closed off so you couldn't see what waited once you got over it. She stared at it thoughtfully while she shook and stretched at random, not really following a pattern, wondering if it would be considered cheating if she used Kusari. She knew that without it, it would be pretty tough climbing over. Shooting a sideways glance in his direction, she figured he would let her know if he had any objection, so when he asked if she was ready, she nodded, sinking through her haunches. "Ready."
