Erin came in shortly after. He waved at Michiyo and then threw himself face down on the couch, grabbing a pillow and hugging it. He had a tired and bored expression on his face as he closed his eyes with a small sigh.

She glanced up from her book as he walked in, catching the wave, but really too engrossed in the story - it was just getting good, as the hero had the villain cornered in the dungeons - to return more than a smile before continuing to read, her brow furrowed in concentration.
She could hardly ignore the loud whoosh that sounded as he fell onto the couch, nor the sigh he issued. After giving her current page a longing look - she had been dying to see the villain get his a** kicked for the past forty pages at least - before placing her bookmark with a small sigh and giving him a sideways look, hands on the now closed book in her lap, "Well, don't you look peachy. Anything the matter?"

She shot him an amused look, eyebrow raised, "Boring? We just had two parties in little more than a week!" She folded her arms as well, "Besides, I don't think this place was meant to be entertaining, to be honest." Picking up the book from her lap, she gestured with it in his direction, "You could always try reading a book... I find that very entertaining myself."

"Yeah, but those where just...parties..," he replied.
The parties were actually interesting, with everything that went on. Maybe too interesting. He sighed a little and tried not to think about everything that had happened between them.
"I don't have the attention span to sit still and read. I'd rather live my own story than read about someone else's," he shook his head and then sat up, "Maybe I'll go work out or something."
He got up from the couch and shook out his arms, rolling his shoulders to stretch.

She watched as he got up, frowning at his comment about the stories. "But books can give so much more than that! They have places you could never go to, and adventures you would never have, and you get to experience them anyway!" She gave a slight conceding nod, "Granted, our lives are already pretty fantastical compared to what regular people go through, but still. It's nice to get away from it all, even for a little while."
She hesitated when he mentioned a work out, wondering if she should offer to go with, as they had been talking about sparring together some time. From the recesses of her mind, Liv's advice floated back to her. It was an easy enough question. Did she want to go and - try to - kick his a**? Why yes. Yes she did. Starting to grin slightly, she put the book next to her on the couch, having decided, "Mind if I go with? I think I still owe you a trouncing, if I'm not mistaken."

When she asked to join him, he remembered they still hadn't sparred. A grin spread on his face and he raised his eyebrow. He thought it was funny that she thought she could beat him. Then he wondered what would happen if they really did spar. He wanted to find out.
"You still think you can handle it, huh? If you insist," he teased and held out his arm like usual.
[ I'm not sure how you want to go about this. sweatdrop Do we want to do hand to hand or use our Innocence? Or something different? Some kind of training contest would be fun. Like an obstacle course. biggrin ]

"I wouldn't offer if I couldn't handle it, now would I?" she countered, grin pulling at the corners of her lips as she stood up and took his arm, as usual, before starting to move to the hallways and in the direction of where - last time she did any sparring, which was with Chaoe - she remembered the training halls to be.
Besides the opportunity to spend some time with him - which she hoped would at least somehow benefit her mental predicament - she could also use the exercise. The last couple of weeks had been nothing more than lounging about and eating tons and tons of delicious party food.
"So, how would you prefer to be defeated?" she mocked once again as they reached the training wing, as they had a lot of options open to them.
