When I was havin probs with me throat, I was in hte exact same situation (even though I had a rare case of something). Anyways. AS odd as it sounds there was somethnig that I did that helped.
Get a cloth, tower, or just something hot (not hot enough to burn the skin) and put it on hte sides on the neck, close to the jaw line.
If that doesnt work, try something liek ice, some spot. At different times I found one of htem worked

The cake is not a lie it is really there, just that they don't tell you that there is a hell fire pit that you have to get threw before you can get to it LOL
