Interesting political debate. Shira shall join: =D
First off, I'd like to say that I always loved Bush. I thought he was a fabulous President. One reason being that when 9/11 hit, not many people could work fast and efficiently under enormous amounts of pressure. Not only did the entire nation shut down, but also most of the world. That's not easy to deal with.
To top that off, Bush didn't heed to the demands of Congress, and he did what was right. You always hear about in the news, about how more soldiers are being placed in the Middle East, and that turns around and the heat is on Bush. You know the whole "shame on him, for spending more money on people that will die due to suicide bombers."
What you rarely hear about in the news, is the fact that the soldiers didn't want to return home, because the Middle East was so shitty, that they thought, "Dear God. This could be my children having to live through this." and told the President that if he thought that he was going to send them home, he could go f*ck himself.
News reports are so poisonous, because they're only suppose to report the bad stuff, and half the time it's exaggerated. If you Googled "Good things soldiers have done in the Middle East" all you get is news reports, saying this solider blew up, and that one. You don't hear the good things. Rarely. You have to dig for it, and naturally being an American, we're too lazy to do s**t. And because of that, Americans turned to the leader and put all the heat on him.
Third, Bush did not cause the "economic crisis" we are in now. Bush had no control over the banks and their loaning habits. Why would that be any concern to the president at all. It was the Clinton administration that allowed banks to push forward into "risky deals". Not Bush.
Another thing that pisses me off about the fact that people hate Bush, is that Hurricane Katrina severally hurt Bush's approval ratings. I don't understand why. How was Bush suppose to know about the levee situation in New Orleans? He issued a "State of emergency" and opened up the emergency funds. That's is all the President is entitled to do. Plus, what was Bush suppose to do? Use his superpowers to stop Katrina from hitting? The evacuation of the city and obvious building flaws of the levees were the responsibility of the mayor of New Orleans and the Governor of Louisiana.
To end my argument thing, all I have to say about Obama, is that he had SEVEN MONTHS of political experience under his belt when he was voted in my America. And the only reason that he was voted in, was because he was black. Yes, I said it. He was voted in because the Electoral College, didn't want to be called racist for voting McCain in, and stating that the only reason Obama wasn't voted in was because he was black. Where, I can get where that would come from, seeing how that would open an entirely new prospect on things and cause more issues than it was worth; and even start rebellions against the government, law suits, and what not; the fact of the matter is, is that Obama wasn't voted in because he was good he was voted in because he was black.
I rest my case.

Kay, to answer your question, Shira's last paragraph. And the fact that despite us all calling Bush a horrible person who wasted money on stuff and ruined the economy, Obama spent more money in his first year than Bush did in all eight of his. Hell, I think he's spent more money on his PRIVATE VACATIONS than Bush spent in total over his presidency. That does not set well, and a good leader it does not make. And the fact that every time the man opens his mouth, he stuffs both feet straight in there. A policeman investigated a man who very much looked like he was breaking into someone's home. Turns out the man lived there, but forgot his keys, and for some reason had no ID on him. But all we hear about is that the man was black, so Obama steps right on in there scolding the policeman for being stupid to have gone after this college professor for breaking into his own home. The country stood up and said "HOW THE HELL WAS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT?!" Cause seriously, that's his JOB. So to apologize, Obama invites the policeman into the presidential rose garden, where presidents entertain FOREIGN DIGNITARIES, and had a beer bash with the guy.
So, really, I could go on for hours telling you in an unbiased way how the man has utterly failed at his job, and why even the people who voted for him are pulling their support. But, instead, why don't you go ahead and tell me ONE way he HASN'T failed?
