I don't want to lose a friend just because my hormones decided I was due a crisis. We're good the way we are... or were really, as I'm not really sure nothing has changed already."
Finally, she sighed, placing her head back down again, "It doesn't matter much anyway. He seemed... quite alright with how things were when we talked, so I'm really just beating myself up over nothing. I just... need to stop thinking about this and get back to normal."
Liv raised her hand to pet Michi's hair in a motherly fashion, "I'm sure that he is alright with how things are now...but I think that's only because he doesn't want to lose you either. I don't for a second think that he wouldn't love to have you as more than his friend. I think that the both of you are uncertain of yourselves, and uncertain of each other. I think that you're both afraid of what it might mean for you to care about each other as more than friends. Maybe because you haven't been in this situation before...I can't speak for him, I don't know him like that. He could have been here before, but somehow I don't think so. Regardless...stop thinking and worrying so much about it. Because in the end I know it'll work out the way it's supposed to. And for goodness sake, don't hold yourself back if you feel something...You be confident and take what you want," she tried to encourage Michi at the very end, her tone supportive with drive to it as she nodded and smiled.

Michiyo stared slightly upwards at Liv, with her head still on her arms, her eyes wide in surprise as the other girl gave her advice, amazed at how - as an outside party - she seemed to be hitting a lot of nails straight on the head.
Most of them, at least. She was uncertain about almost everything surrounding the whole mess, but she was not exactly sure about some of the other things Liv mentioned, which still sounded too serious and meaningful for her to try and think about, feeling the slight bubble of panic again when she even strayed into the vicinity of thoughts such as those. She resisted the urge to scoff when she mentioned how Erin would love to be more than friends, as the idea felt ridiculous to her.
While Liv might think otherwise, she also had little to work with when it came to what Erin might or might not have been involved in before, or what he might be thinking about all this. For what felt like the umpteenth time in the last couple of days, she realized how little she really knew about the young man she was currently so stressed out about.
"You make it sound so easy," she finally said, as the corners of her mouth twisting slightly upwards as at least her mood had been lightened after getting the things she'd been walking around with for days off her chest, "Maybe this is your true calling - helping confused girls sort out their lives?"
She chuckled slightly, rising to sit upright, giving Liv a thankful smile, "Thanks for listening to my whining. I think I might listen to your advice. Just the first bit though!" she added hurriedly, waving a hand quickly, before making a face, "I'm fine with not worrying anymore and just... seeing what happens. I just don't feel that sure about... taking what I want." She finished with a breathy snort, her eyes falling back to her lap where her fingers had started to knot.

"It's funny how I can give everyone else advice...but when it comes to my own romantic problems, I can't seem to do anything right," she smiled a little and shook her head.
Her smile fell a little and she tilted her head at Michiyo, "But...why can't you take what you want? You're a beautiful, smart young woman."

Michiyo frowned lightly when Liv mentioned her own troubles, wondering if maybe she would benefit too from unburdening herself, but she hardly felt up to the task of supporting her half as well as she had done.
She coloured at the compliments, but refrained from contradicting her as she knew the other girl wouldn't hear of it. "It's just... not how I'm wired, I think. If I... imagine taking what I want - should I feel so inclined, which I do not, at present," she added the last part on quickly, rushing through the words, "Well, I feel like I'm about to break out in hives at the thought." As if to demonstrate, she rubbed her arm awkwardly, a slight grimace forming on her face.

"I dunno...I guess I've always just been so outgoing...it's just hard for me to understand why you wouldn't want to, or why it would be difficult for you. But you know better than I do, and you'll do something when you're ready. It's better not to push yourself anyway. Like I said, just see where things go. But at the same time, don't hold yourself back...it's just a balance you have to learn."
Liv sat there quietly. She wasn't sure there was much advice she had left to give, and she fidgeted a little. Maybe she should talk to Erin, too. She immediately nixed the idea though, knowing very well it would probably only end up badly. Erin seemed like the type to pull away more if she tried to interfere.
"I just want you to be happy, Michi. You know?"

"I know," she answered, sighing softly but looking up again with a smile, "And I want to be happy. I think I just... have to figure out first what exactly would make me happy." With a resolute nod, she went on, "And I do try and be a bit more... pro-active and forthcoming, but it's easy when talking to you! It's when I'm actually face to face that it's... easier to just joke and be normal than try and talk about the more serious things."
She shook her head, attempting to clear away the thoughts that - though surely lightened - still nagged at her, "But enough about me. What's going on with you?" She leaned forwards, resting her head on the palms of her hands, listening eagerly.
