Mizaka went through some more papers, signing most of them and burning others.
"The Demons aren't allowed to harm a Soul Officer or their Spirit, so Jack and I will be off the hook if they ever come by. Zachary, on the other hand...since he's technically property of Hell, they can do whatever they want with him..." Mizaka shivered at the thought. "Jack told me some...unpleasant stories about his time in Hell. I won't go into detail. You might lose your lunch. However, I do hope the poor boy doesn't fall into the hands of Famalie. From what Jack has told me, that sick b*****d is the worst of them all, and has a mighty temper to boot. I met him once, in fact. Not a very nice guy. Wouldn't want to meet him in a place like Hell..."

Kiah flinched at the thought of them getting ahold of the younger Spirit, a bit glad that Mizaka and Jack would be fine, but still worried none the less. She couldn't help but scoff at her comment, knowing she could hear it since it was just that specific situation that reminded her of... Not now. "I'm sure I could take it. It's probably just a bug going around..." She listened to the end before speaking again. "Sounds like he's got a rough road ahead of him..."
(( I'm probably going to bed after the next post... : / ))

Mizaka looked at her incredulously.
"Really now? I highly doubt you're as fearless as you claim to be. Some of the stuff they did to Jack isn't something to be taken lightly. Why do you think so many Spirits escape Hell everyday?" She sighed before pushing aside the paperwork. "I really wish I could do something for Zachary. He's not really that bad. Annoying and arrogant, maybe, but then again, so are most teenagers. Maybe if I contacted Vilota...no. I don't want to burden her with something that could get her in trouble..."

You don't know what I've seen, and I don't know what you've seen, so we have no way of knowing how 'fearless' we both are. You do not decide what I can or cannot take. That is my call." Kiah stared at her intensely, speaking seriously, but not harshly. She remembered that Mizaka was still pretty young, but her comment had slightly irritated her.
Gathering up the completed stack, Kiah stood up from the table, turning back to face the younger girl. "I'm sure you'll figure something out, Mizaka. If you'll excuse me, I'm heading off to bed for the night. Thank you for the help." She gave the girl a warm smile and walked away with her pile, instantly frowning and feeling sick when she knew Mizaka couldn't see her face. Maybe a double dose tonight...
