She was in a parallel universe. She had to be. Her son was dragging her along, her daughter by his side, taking her to see what ended up being her husband and her other son. Kelligrin looked...sick and her heart clenched in her chest. What had they done to her baby? She bit her tongue to keep from crying out as white-hot pain sliced through her side but the blood stopped. She took a moment to assess the situation. That was definitely not Sevilin and as she'd already determined, not Zykariel either. Faate she was still uncertain about. "One little elf? You stole two of my children. Do you intend to give me one back and send me on my way?"

Kel lifted his head from his father's shoulder, glancing at his mother for a moment and then laid it back down. He whimpered softly and shook his head, his eyes dull and the usual curiousity faded.

Grumbling under his breath, he watched his 'mother' for a moment and shook his head. "Maybe together we can. I've fought and beat her before but she has tricks she's never pulled on me before." Glancing back as the rocks began to rumble and their makeshift hidey hole was closed. "No other choice. We fight." Pulling out his scythe and taking his stance. "Don't touch the flower and watch her closely. If she moves to use it, take her out." This went against everything he'd ever been taught. He was never allowed to hit his mother....but this wasn't his mother and he had to remember that. Just another enemy in a life and death battle.

"Don't start with me Malik, I may have lived down here for my whole life but I don't go exploring dark caves all the time." Rolling his eyes Galesen blinked a few times and smiled, finally his eyes had adjusted to the damn darkness after being under those lights for awhile. Blinking he looked at Malik and quickly noticed that Malvolence was missing. Now that was odd since Malik never went anywhere without that weird blade, they were connected the two of them, he believed the first thing he would of done was searched for the sword if they were separated. The drow needed that sword like it needed him. His eyes narrowed lightly has it clicked that this was a fake Malik, no way he would be around here with his sword. "I see what you mean Malik, it's a good idea." Slowly Galesen grabbed a dagger that he hid in his sleeve, twisting it so the blade pointed down he waited and then jumped toward 'Malik.' His arm coming down in a fast motion to get him in his upper shoulder.

Malik took the needle, and looked it over.

"Simple, effective. nice workmanship."

Looking it over, and looking at his son again.

"Plant food? for the love of innoruuk, could you at least put more value to my son than plant food."

it was tempting to think about cutting her hand off. whatever that cord was, was attached to her hand, so the idea could be cut her hand off and take his son. but she'd probably defend that, and well..trying to cut her hand off in this position could end up causing serious injury to his son.

"Tell me something. your collar. why doesn't my son play with it like he does my wife? is it one of those things you couldn't get right?"

resting his hand on Malvolence's hilt, sending one of those encoded messages to his wife again.

Your other has some kind of cord going from her hand down Dhairiss' throat. if I try to pull him away, it'll probably kill him. She's offered me a deal...Zahara's soul in exchange for our family..so far, I've accepted. if you can't get your collar off, see if Fianna can neutralize it. I'm wearing the leash under my gauntlet...but I don't want to risk snapping your neck if I choose to try it.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 19, 2008 4:51 pm

"Still asking questions? Aren't you supposed to be going somewhere now?" Shaking her head, "How much you value plants is what determines how valuable one thinks plant food is." Petting through soft hair again before giving a laugh of sorts. "No, not at all. He used to play with it but as you can see he's not up for much of anything these days. And how many times must I tell you, modification not mess up." Narrowing her eyes lightly she whistled and another came to her, looking like Keely this time. Though when he left her arms, that string was still hanging out of his mouth. They were about to have a party weren't they?
--
"The underfoot is one giant cave, in case you haven't noticed." Spinnign, as he got a dagger in the shoulder, he grabbed the the scabbard of the boy's Katana and ripped it off, flinging the sheath away as he drew the katana and swiped at the boy with it. "Oh so you finally figured it out did you? And we were having fun too."
--
Kelligrin had much the same issue as Dhairiss, that odd string that glinted in the light presumably slithered down his throat to somewhere in his body. A pet to the boy as he moved a bit. "Oh I'm sorry, I just thought that since you and Faate don't have the best of relationships and all. Not uncommon among your kind."
--
"Your mom scares me. Your mom who isn't your mom but knows what she does is even worse." The woman was armed with daggers too it seemed. But they didn't particularly have a choice now did they? A look to the flower...there had to be something to this. They were everywhere, even inside. "Alrighty then...let's do our thing." Thusly a raise of a sword and a dash forward.
--
She paused again as another jumble of words came to her head and she had to filter through everything. It wasn't happy words at all that she was hearing. Neutralize it? How did he expect that to happen? It was metal that had no mercy when it contracted. "Don't be offering soul exhanges...you're signing everyone's death warrant with that." Besides, they all knew Zahara was what kept Sevilin from losing it...who knew what he would do if something happened to that woman. "Mother says she can do so, so don't worry." Lie, big fat lie but Malik didn't know that...and if it helped then it did. She'd just have to have an alternate plan in mind if she felt her collar do something. "Straight."

Galesen allowed the dagger to come free of 'Malik's' shoulder when the thing turned around on him, he just didn't expect for the 'nell to grab his sword in the process. Quickly he jumped back after regaining his sense of balance, but his blade did nick him in the arm as he kept his dagger close to him to block his sword. "Of course I did, next time you want to kidnap someone do so before their eyes adjust to the darkness and they can see that your sword-less when the real person always carries their sword." Another duck as the nell took a swipe at him. "You don't even deserve to touch my sword, I hope you know how to use one though." Quickly as he could, to which he thanked his elven reflexes for, Galesen hopped for left to right as 'Malik' tried to get him, when he got close enough Galesen twisted his dagger and did a swipe across the chest before he turned it and shoved it straight toward the 'nells stomach.

He caught the narrowing of eyes. that could mean she was hearing or eavesdropping on his messages to his wife. then she handed his son off to another one. this one was keely. damn there were alot of these buggers around here.

"I do things in my own time. you should know that. and you should also know the consequences of your bargain. You really willing to risk that?"

though handing off of his son didn't change his expression.

"Not to mention, you haven't given me a reason yet to leave by just trusting your word."

Okay he knew she was probably lieing, and he didn't know if these 'nells needed to breathe. But keeping his poker face on, and unsheathing his sword, letting it glow bright red and illuminate the area around him.

"The word of an enemy, even an enemy in possession of something of value to you, is nothing. How am I to trust that when I leave, you won't do what your doing in haste, and hope that when the deed is done, you'll be safely nestled in my son. And I have another question for you. do you enjoy the cold?"

It was a tactic and Zahara fought the acidic retort that was rising in her throat. She wouldn't fall for their pranks and shout out that Faate's relationship with her was perfectly fine. She watched her son for a moment and then glared at 'Sevilin.' "My relationship with my daughter has nothing to do with whether or not I wish to leave with one or two of my children. They are born of me and both beloved by me and another as well. The other whose body you have stolen or mimicked or whatever it is you have done. Now, why did you bring me here? To mock me with the sight and actions of my offspring?"

Faate's eyes flashed that fire once again and she pushed closer to the man she knew as her father, studying her mother with eyes that were colder than Sevilin's. "You know nothing of me."

"Same here..." He withdrew his own weapon and watched his friend for a moment, covering his back as he feinted to the left and swung the deadly blade towards his 'mother's' legs. "Be careful, Malikhai!" When the little flowers were broken, an awful gassy smell was released. Was the same thing contained inside the bigger ones? Did it have an effect on these things? Was it the source of their power? Or was it what was keeping his siblings locked away or tortured? The inconsistencies and mystery of the whole thing kept him from crushing it...but only barely. "Come on, Mom. A couple of rounds of one on one, what do you say? Just like old times!" Slashing and rolling to block her own dagger swipes. Yup, just like his mom but a hell of a lot more ruthless. s**t.

"You're the one who's making the risk by agreeing to it. Not me...it's your folly to make, not mine. For a man who says he'll go to great lengths for his family...you sure do question a lot of things." Locking her eyes onto him. "A word is all I can give..." Watching as he unsheathed his sword and more or less started to mock. "Look who's the one going back on our bargains..." Widening her stance.

Fianna nocked an arrow onto her bow, aiming carefully from where she was as the others were tucked just around the corner. Runes along the shaft of her arrow and along her bow glowed dimly so as not to call attention to them. Now here was the question...aim for Malik or aim for this other Piper. She knew one Piper was false and the other not because her daughter was just around the corner with Sevilin...but this other Malik. A command would send him thier way and if a false Malik as anywhere as strong as a real Malik...that would be trouble.
--
"Oh stop your lecturing and assumed I wished to trick you. You only make yourself look daft." Shaking his head and looking to teh sword with a chuckle. "I don't? You couldn't hold onto very well." Thusly stoning his gaze and leaping at the young elf, striking him in his own shoulder with his own blade as Galesen's own blade landed in his stomach. A chuckle. "Come on now, do better than that...give me a challenge."
--
A grin to the woman as he put an arm around the girl who more or less cuddled up to his side. "Apparently she thinks different. Oh and yes, this is your daughter...no she isn't suffering like the rest. There's a greater reason for that. And no, I didn't...you just may be more useful now than dead and we can't let you wander around causing trouble." Handing Kelligrin to Faate he stepped over to Zahara and grinned at her, before she would feel that fluttery feeling of love and adoration form him. "Feel that? How do you know who I am and who I'm not." Touching a hand lightly to her cheek.
--
She was vicious as could be, fighting off both boys with apparent easy...mostly because she didn't really react to pain. Though everytime it seemed they were going to bust against that crystal she always either got in the way or changed her momentum. At Zykariel's taunt though she flunt Malikhai off of her and lunged for the other boy.

He stumbled with the sudden momentum shift, falling back too fast to catch himself and popped into the large crystal flower like thing that was in the room, hsi armor against it giving a resounding crack and he fell to the floor, covering his head as sharp pieces fell around his head and noxious gas started to rise. "Cover your nose!" Yanking his banadana down to cover his own before getting himself back up and into the fray.

Galesen rolled his eyes and sighed, getting poked at by a damn copycat that well that was new. "Of course I did, I didn't expect to see the real Malik so I had to wait until I could tell." Galesen grunted in pain as his blade struck him in the shoulder. Looking at the 'nell the elf glared at him for a moment. "Fine you want a challenge then I'll give you one." Quickly he pulled out his dagger and slammed his fist into 'Malik's' face to allow him to kick the 'nell in the chest after a brief moment. When he pulled away he checked his shoulder and then turned back to the thing with his dagger poised an ready to go. "I hope you can give me a challenge as well 'Malik'..." And so he charged the creature again. He needed to end this soon, the 'nell was a copy of Malik, Galesen may have beaten the drow once before but this copycat was proving to be quite a handful.

He felt it, the runic tugs...and saw her widen her stance.

"Who said I'm going back on my bargain?"

He was hoping the obvious flickering of Malvolence would give things away. after all, no one but Malik had control over that weapon.

"I question things because it's foolish not to. Just like it's foolish to assume that someone isn't a threat and let them walk around unattended. Or to assume so much about what you think you know."

His fingers twitched a bit. Dhairiss wasn't in her grip...and her hand that had the string was free and loose. but he took a moment, and Malvolence flickered brighter, the blade itself almost seemed to whisper things on the air.

Malik's eyes grew colder, callous...but he was still in control. siphoning the original occupant, but not giving it dominion. He couldn't afford to let that happen with his son so close. but the temperature dropped sharply around him, frost and ice starting to form on the floor and the walls.

"I have a great many secrets, at least from you."

A twinge..trying this wasn't easy..almost like trying to richocet things. trying to use Piper as a sounding board to Fianna. runic signature's that close, but no bloodshed yet, meant it had to be fianna. Sevilin would have tried to gut something by now. and since Fianna used a bow and not blades, he assumed she was either loading or was ready to fire.

Shoot. don't care about hitting me..you should have fired already. shoot this b***h.

It was hard to decide whether that was good or bad news. Her daughter wasn't suffering the way her son was which explained her lack of pallor but not the strange look Zahara saw in her eyes. Faate's cuddling up to the percieved Sevilin was easily explained because the girl believed her father created the surface and hung every light known to man and elf and her father absolutely doted on her. Bonds triggered and she felt the warmth that she had always associated with Sevilin and for just a moment she wanted to believe it was him. Wishing she could curve her cheek into his hand more fully and bury her face against his chest. He smelled like Sevilin, acted like him, looked like him...but it wasn't him. Was it? "How...how is that possible? You aren't Sevilin!" Yanking away. "Faate, this isn't your father. It's an illusion." Of sorts...

She wasn't buying it and shook her head. "You lie. You always lie." Taking a breath and glancing up at her 'father'. "She lies."

This was not good. He'd come at her every which way he could think of and had used everything but magic to counter her moves. She was fighting like his mom did but far more ruthlessly as if she had no care whether he lived or died as long as that flower wasn't messed with. But seeing her lunge for him, he began fighting her off, forcing himself to hit her and slash at her. The sight of her blood nearly undid him but he kept hacking.

A moment's hesitation in battle could kill and Zykariel covered his nose and held his breath, ducking down as shards flew in all directions. He panicked, uncertain just what that flower was going to do and rolled just in time as dear old mom tried to take off his head. Was this good? Was this bad? What if he had just killed all of his siblings? Oh... Focus, Zykariel. Focus.

Ears twitched slightly as if she had heard something but it was something only her kind would recognize the sound of. Hmmm, but a look back to Malik. She didn't look intimidated as he made a show of things...there was something to this...least he would have struck already. "I never thought you not a threat...but I know how to control you. A dog can be rabid but if you yank his chain in the right way he'll still heel at your boots." A slight aversion of eyes to the effects happening around her before a noise of surprise and a look down, seeing the head of a blood covered arrow sticking out the front of her, the rest up to the feathers in the back embedded in her.

Fianna had another nocked to her string and this one was aimed for Malik, she wasn't going to take a chance and if he made one move toward her general direction, he was getting one as well. But at least she shot for his shoulder...just in case. No chances, no trust, no nothing right now.

She didn't feel right anymore again, but it was worse this time. It felt like something was tugging at her from the very core of her body, drawing from her and making her feel even more off kilter. Especially since they'd gotten closer to this area.
--
Another pet at the child that was backing him up and making this even easier for him. Though he seemed amused at her reaction to what he could make her feel. "I borrowed a little bit of something is all. You think we're stupid enough to just assume forms and try to go with just that? Wrong, we went a bit...deeper." Not worrying about what he was saying in front of the child, seeing as her mind would filter it out. But a look in another direction as he seemed to note that something had just happened that was bad.
--
Was he still talking? A slight surprise as the elf took to fist fighting, knocking him back for that brief moment before he was back up on his feet, still holding onto the other's katana as a weapon. Wiping some blood from the corner of his mouth he grinned. And he merely braced himself as the young elf came after him...after all it wasn't like physical things were going to kill him...but it was damn fun. The boy wanted a fight...well he'd give him one and maim him with his own sword.

Mykorian took him off guard as the little elf whacked him in the knees, causing them to buckle before he knocked him in the side around where hsi kidney's were with the pommels of his daggers, getting the attention off of Galesen but it wasn't too long before he was grabbed and slammed against a crystal structure in the room. Ow...well it seemed like a good idea at the time.
--
It looked like she was getting a bad headache, and really really bad headache that was affecting her movement and more or less crippling her with pain. In fact so much that she let up on the two teens.

He watched, not really sure what was going on as his friend had stayed on top of her before it seemed he was the one winning because she was in some sort of abject pain. A blink and he looked back to the crytal he had popped into...that didn't start until that crystal took a hit. Raising his sword he knocked the pommel back, making another crack and getting another reaction. "Zykariel...I don't think going at her is going to do anything but..." Looking to the crystal.

A slight smirk.

"Patience is a virtue sometimes."

but wait a moment. she didn't seem the least bit affected by an arrow other than surprised that it hit her. and that was a very potentially deadly chest shot. 'that depends on how much someone values thier plants' she'd said. and just because she bled didn't mean that she could die. that's why she wasn't concerned about being stabbed.

Malik's face shifted a bit, shoving that other presence back in that sword, and his eyebrow raised. the plants. those crystal plant things, that was thier weakness, it had to be. they were linked to them. maybe extentions of them. that why they couldn't go beyond a certain point on the surface. Or at least teh puzzle peices were pointing in that direction so far.

But just for the hell of it, while she glanced at the arrow in her chest, he did try to cut her hand off. distract her, keep her occupied while he sent a message to Piper...and see if this might work, or how far they might go to defend them.

Piper...see if sevilin or fianna can locate those crystal plant things. and if they can, to injure them. freeze them, burn them, implode them, whatever. and pass this along to Malikhai and Zykariel.

Sometimes it was good to mix it up a little, going at it with just a dagger the opponent could figure out in due time how he would attack. Throw a punch and a kick and that would sent the enemy back or hopefully on their a**. Which in this case 'Malik' was placed on his a**, it at least gave him some time to get ready before they went at it again. So Galesen quickly turned his dagger to block his katana as he rushed toward the 'nell, but boy there was a look of shock on his face when 'Malik' was sent to his knees...by Mykorian. "Mykorian! How long have you been following me?" Though it was not the time to ask question when the thing grabbed the boy and slammed him against the wall. Glaring at the 'nell Galesen charged the thing and soon enough he tackled 'Malik' straight to the ground. When he recovered Galesen got up into a kneeling position and began to pummel the face of the creature beneath him, his dagger was lost somewhere but he would find it. "Where are they Malik? Where are the others?" Pausing everyone so often before he threw another punch, he hoped it could feel pain.

Violet eyes widened and then narrowed, studying him closely. "You took something from my husband?" And that's why she could sense bonds...feel things? What? The only thing that connected them the way it did was their... "You took part of his soul, didn't you?" Even a piece of it was full of raw power the likes humans had never fully grasped. The soul could exist without the body and held the deepest of all emotional ties. It was the soul that caused a surface elf to die without their mates from abject grief. "Give it back! You can't have it forever and..." Shaking her head. She didn't even know what to do now. She knew this Sevilin wasn't her husband but what would happen if they were in the same room? Could she tell the difference? "Fine, give me my son."

His mother all of a sudden very nearly crumpled and he stayed his blade but only barely. It was all beginning to add up in his head and he began knocking against the crystal as well. "We have to shatter it. Hit it harder, Khai. I'd say throw magic at it but that might nullify the effects or strengthen them and we can't take that chance."
