Comboz? I haven't seen him for a while. I know some things...and he's always happy to have a new punching bag, he's just got to make sure that his punching bag won't bust apart at the seams, if you know what I mean...

"Alright then," the short man jumped, floating like a raven towards the woods nearest the perimeter. "If I do this," he paused before the tree and began to walk slowly forward. As he approached the trunk, he began to walk along the bark, as though the bark itself were now the ground. "How is this different from walking on water? Why is this easier?"

Heh. Think about it. If walking up the tree is easier than walking on water, there must be a reason, and a difference. Well, what's the difference between a tree and a pond?

"Indeed I've thought of that. Water is permeable. All liquids are. Moreso than solids anyway. However, a slice of bread iand a boat can float over the surface. Clearly I stand between the two as far as mass and size, but they have something that I do not. somehow I have to use my chakra to become a walking boat on water. But why can't the way I learned to this work for that? Am I not trying hard enough or did I miss something?"

For one, a boat is designed to displace enough water to support it's weight, but by doing this, it sinks into the water a considerable amount. Bread simply has enough surface area to dispers it's weight, like a boat, but without sinking, because it's so light, compared to a hunk of steel or wood the same size...what a boat would be made of. How are you trying to walk on water at the moment? What do you do?

"I've not tried anything so far but what I learned trying to climb a tree. I focus my chakra in my feet and try to use it to attach the bottom of my foot or shoe to the surface of the water. But there has to be another trick because I keep sinking and am making no progress. Either that or I'm not using enough chakra.

I see the problem. Like you said, Water is a liquid, and a tree is a solid. You use your chakra to attach yourself to the tree, much like how someone can hold up a piece of paper with a straw. Suck on one end and place the other flat against the paper, then lift up. Now, what happens when you try the same thing with a glass of water?

Keno looked rather dumbfounded, pausing in his tracks as he was walking back towards the porch. "Of course. The straw still sinks and the water rises through the hole in the straw. But then, that would mean I'm not trying to attach myself to the water. I'm either trying to push myself above the surface or keep myself there. That's a complete reversal of what I've been doing this whole time. You gotta be kidding..."

At least he was still able to train. With or without Comboz around, he should fare decently well so long as these others were around to offer their knowledge. "So are you?"

Ah. Keno knew it. Though it wasn't too hard to discern. Afterall that woman had mentioned this man would be able to answer his question since she could not. "So then you're the sensei of that man Espyn. He knows a rather....irritating dance. Did you teach him that?"
