As one who has an inside view as to what is soon to come... I would just like to say that people should be VERY excited with the changes coming in.
There is going to be a lot to do and I hope it will bring a new surge of Roleplaying. I'm personally really looking forward to it.

-X Duo Yiro X- Hmm, so I'm guessing that there's more to this time skip then meets the eye... Do we get to pick our own Jutsus then? well, hinote probably just means that you won't really get the chance to learn much before the timeskip, so there's no sense in starting it before hand

So can someone tell me if I get the auto rank, or do I get the dreaded two week advancement? Side note: How often are the Chuunin exams?
