(( Guh > < didn't post )) Cecil glanced up at Erin. She thought it over for a while. "But....it could be interesting. He makes things memorable, and later on you can laugh at the fact that it happened. Taking risks and chances are a whole lot better then sitting back or just avoiding it." Cecil tilted her head to the side letting her blond curly locks fall to the side. "I would love to make memories that I may be mad in the moment but once it's all over and then I can think back on it and laugh. I also want memories where I can forgive and accept things that happened that I couldn't prevent at the time. I don't want to forever be captured by my brother's memory." Cecil stated as she stared out at everyone.

Michiyo listened to the story with rapt attention. It was all pretty new territory for her, as she had heard bits and pieces of rumours flying around, but never the true story. "Wow, that's... pretty amazing," she finally said, a bit dazed by the amount of new information to process.
She was a little jealous though. By the sound of it, those Masters had a school, someplace to teach them everything for years before they actually did anything. Whereas Exorcists just get handed their Innocence one day and expected to go on missions and fight pretty much from day one.
"I'm getting pretty thirsty from all this... listening?" she finished a bit lamely, starting to grin at her wrong choice of phrase, "I'll bring you guys back something, alright?" Giving a happy nod, she headed towards the snack table, taking a deep breath before sidling up besides Erin next to the punch bowl and starting to ladle some into cups. Alright, so, I should just ask him what's up... but what if that will just make him more upset or angry or whatever he is? Biting her lip, she focused on pouring straight.

"Yep. Though it's not very easy," said Mizaka with a nod. "Oh, it's okay; I don't really want anything."
"Bring back a cake for me," said Jack as they watched Michiyo walk away.
"For a serial killer, you have a pretty big sweet tooth..."

[ Oh dear. That struck the nerve. sweatdrop Erin, Erin, Erin... ]
Erin was going to dismiss what the girl said, but as she began to speak, he was taken aback by her thoughtful, serious tone. Even though she was obviously a young girl, something about the way she spoke made her sound wise beyond her years. He couldn't help but turn his head slightly to look down at her as she made her very wise point. At the very last sentence of her small monologue, Erin ceased blinking, and simply stared for a long moment at the girl. The irony of what she said resonated inside him and he was frozen there, his heartbeat a rush in his hears.
Was this girl some kind of psychic or something? It was like every word she spoken hit home with him, like a heavy locomotive rushing down the tracks, the brake system failing and the whole thing crashing in on the station. Erin finally blinked to wet his eyes again, which had grown dry in his frozen state. He felt a small gust of air as Michiyo stepped up to the table next to him, and he swallowed a little, looking at her for a second. He stood there still, not knowing what to do or say after his brief exchange with the young girl. He settled on placing one hand on the snack table, leaning on it a little. He was still in his head, still trying to work out everything.

It was getting a bit uncomfortable, standing there, pretending to pour - after the fifth one she had stopped actually topping them up, but went on faking it to have something to do, something to keep her in this spot - but not being able to think of anything to say.
Chancing a glance in his direction, all she saw was that he seemed to be lost in thought, leaning on the snack table. She opened her mouth, fighting for something, anything to say, but fell short, her mouth closing uselessly again. This was ridiculous. No matter what, they were friends, right? That hadn't changed, despite... things happening. That meant she should be able to ask him a simple question, right?
"Er... Are you alright?" she finally dared to ask, though despite her reasoning already bracing herself for whatever the question might provoke.

(( ; ; now I want cake. XD )) Cecil glanced at Erin when he leaned on the table. He looked deep into thought. Hm? Did I say something that hit a nerve? Cecil noticed the girl who had been pouring punch into cups started to talk to Erin. She took that as her cue to leave and give them space.
She grabbed a piece of cake and a fork before leaving to go back to her chair. She smiled softly and mumbled "One shouldn't be afraid to take risks, the worst that could happen is never as bad as we make it out to be."

Erin blinked a little, "What..? Oh..Michiyo," he was broken from his mind and found himself smiling at the sight of her.
"Am I alright?" his smile faded and he thought about the question, slowly tapping his hand on the table. Was he alright?
"I...think that I need to get outside," he said quietly, pausing for a long moment.
He started to turn away, and then stopped with his back half to her. It was easy to see his broad shoulders, bared in his current attire. His strong, muscular back shifted slightly as he took a long breath, letting a sigh out through his nose. He rolled his shoulders a little and then turned back to look at her again.
"Do you want to come with me?"

Michiyo frowned at the way his face fell while he answered - if that even be called an answer - wondering once again - quite egotistically - whether she had anything to do with his odd mood.
She moved with him, turning round, reluctant to see him go in such a state. At his offer, she froze, eyes widening in surprise. Part of her was not so sure about being alone, outside - in the dark~ an annoying little voice added - with him, but she somehow she had a sense that, in his current mood, if she turned him down now, he would not be asking again. She wasn't sure what it was exactly that gave her the idea, but she was sure that that was not what she wanted.
"Yes, I do," she replied, smiling slightly, before stepping up and slipping her hand in the crook of his arm, like had become their little habit.

[ Goodbye Mia! ]
He was a little surprised that she replied with a definite 'yes' and looked down as she slipped her arm into his. There was something calming about the way she did it, and he smiled a little again as he led them both towards the exit. Taking the shortest route to the outdoors, he pushed through the door, holding it open for them both to go through. When his skin hit the chilly night air he shivered, but it felt refreshing. He wasn't sure where he was taking them until he noticed a bench at the end of a small, dimly lit pathway. It was set underneath a leafless tree, but it still looked like a nice place to sit. When they got to the bench he easily slipped his arm from hers and sat down. He didn't say anything, and just leaned against the back of the bench, resting his hands on he knees as he stared downward.
Finally, he spoke quietly, the only thing he could think to say, "I'm sorry I don't have a coat for you. I know it's a bit cold out here."

[[ Talk to you later, Mia~ EDIT: Lol, only just now saw your extra post~ I'll probably post one more after this, am watching something that's nearly finished now~ ]]
She sat down on the bench, and, like she had predicted, an awkward silence began. Glancing his way, she saw him staring at the ground, so she took in their surroundings, which were still quite visible due to a almost round moon. It was a small courtyard, and, though obviously not well-tended, seemed to have flourished in a wild sort of way. Meanwhile, she wracked her brain for a conversation starter. She'd already asked how he was, and that didn't do much. The silence stretched on and on. Just a little longer, and she would have to resort to comments about the weather.
As it turned out, she didn't need to, for he finally spoke. "Ah, no, that's fine," she answered quickly, waving a dismissive hand, "I'm fine, not cold at all." Once again, silence. She knew what they probably should discuss, but she wasn't even sure what she herself thought and felt, let alone be ready to hear about his point of view. She fumbled a bit with her fingers, fixed in her lap, as the moment stretched on.

[ Alright biggrin ]
Erin nodded, glad she she wasn't cold. He leaned over and rested his elbows on his knees, clasping his hands between them. He twiddled his fingers as he stared at his hands, though unseeing as he slipped into his mind again. What Cecil said had struck him to the point where he was almost numb in away, his mind so blank. He lifted one hand to rub his eyes and then sighed a little. He was glad Michiyo was sitting next to him, but this wasn't how he wanted things with them to be. He was okay with comfortable silences, but this one wasn't comfortable. He realized that he probably owed her something, even if any explanation he could give might not make anything clearer for her. He sat up straight again and turned to her some, holding his hands out palm up, his mouth opening to speak. Nothing came out though, and he closed his mouth again, his hands slacking as he dropped them back to his knees. After another moment he repeated his previous action.
"I...never had friends before this, Michiyo. We are friends, aren't we?...For years now, I've worked for the Order, but I've never gotten close to anyone," he rotated his hands around as he tried to get his words out. His eyes were on her face, roving over it as he searched for the right things to say, or for something that made sense.
"For some reason...the day I met you, even though it was under rather unwelcome circumstances at the time...for some reason, something about you...I never had friends," he repeated himself and let his hands drop again, taking time to pause.
"I don't know how to process what I'm feeling. I don't really know what it is that I feel about you...I just know that I don't want you absent from my life," he finished quietly, looking at the ground for a moment before flashing his eyes up to her face again.
