"then they are most likely preparing the young ones for this process. how can they be injured. and if they are injurable in thier assumed form, how can they be stopped from changing to an unharmable form."
Malik looked at Zahara.
"Out of the question. I will not have Lyssie left alone, nor will I have our oldest become easier targets by taking them out there. The only way you would be ableto get them out there to my satisfaction would to have them so heavily protected as to make them useless anyway. I will not risk anymore of our children. Unless you can think of a skill that they possess that none of us here can duplicate or surpass them at, the answer is no."
A glance at Fianna.
"I assumed that was bond related, actually."
Before his eyes shifted back to Zahara, ready for the challenge to that.

"That I'm afraid I don't know. I know they are containable by normal means in a sense, but I don't know how to keep them from shifting. I've never seen one shift from one form to another."
He blinked at his wife, seeing as she made a request that seemed...a tad out of character for even her. Zahara was indeed known for cooping up her children when she felt they were threatened in some way. Seemed everyone else was kind of surprised about the idea as well. "What's going on in your head Sweetheart?" Unlike Malik he knew that approaching her in confrontation would only get her back up.
"Well...yes a bond helps but at times where no one is paying attention to that, she probably does it. You'd be surprised." Turning her attention to her daughter as she came back, geared up and apparently ready to go. Though she did frown at the fact that the bandana her daughter was wearing was pinning back both her ears.

Sevilin was exactly right and Zahara threw a glare at Malik then turned to her husband. "I'm not leaving Lyssie here either but if Zykariel goes then Malikhai needs to go as well." She took a breath and crossed her arms. "Family is important to both of them and their siblings were taken. Is it really fair to cut them out of the process of finding them when they can help? Secondly, if these 'nells were going to take the older two they would have when they had a chance. Any good opponent assumes that their targets have become wise to their tricks, stepping up defenses and whatnot. If they did their research before taking our children, then they know that we aren't going to sit by idle and they won't be striking again. Malikhai and Zykariel are old enough to be put to some use, even if its only as errand boys or questioning or searching for clues." Glancing at Malik again and plopping her hands on her hips. "I'll tell you a skill our boys have that we have yet to be able to surpass them at. Coming up with half-brained schemes that nearly get them killed. Treating them like children is only going to upset them more, Malik. Their worlds were shaken just like yours and neither of our boys are famous for taking the time to think before they act, especially when it comes to family."

"All the more reason to have them here, behind closed doors, and under constant supervision. Just because they didn't take them doesn't mean that they won't if they are given an easy opportunity."
frowning light before shaking his head some.
"you really willing to put them in harms direct path? because that's where we're going. if you want them there, then they'll be going the whole way. no sending them home, no hiding them from anything. we won't be able to take the time to escort them or have them escorted back home if things get violent, and we all know they will. because if these things don't fight to keep us away, they will fight to keep their lives. And this isn't a tournament with rules."
Tybalt nodded lightly.
"So it is safe to think they might not be able to alter thier assumed form, and you've never seen one injured. but we can guess that they can be killed, or they would not go to lengths to hide or disguise themselves."
he gave a nod to the spirits.
"You're assistance is greatly appreciated, and I will allow you the time you wish to remain with your son in private."
Tybalt walked upstairs casually taking a place beside Fianna.
"This is what has been divulged. their scent trap method of acquiring a form is also their tracks. the scent lingers faintly behind them, and nothing save water seems to be able to completely destroy it. however for the tracker the scent trap can have mild hallucination effects, disorientation."
taking a moment.
"Younger children might be used as vassals, or vessels. to care for the creature in it's form, and to possibly provide a new home through possession. the strongest scents will be from the traps used for their present form, which as far as we know is lady D'vinn and lord Inthara. Pine and Amber, respectively. a third scent trap, however, does give the idea of a third one that may use Zykariel's form with a cookie scent. Further information on how to combat them was unavailable."

Galesen listened as both Zahara and Malik went back and forth about the children, he understood this was a great deal here but they were wasting time. "That's true Malik, this isn't a tournament with rules, this is real life. Hell I bet by their age you have been through more then they have. Actually I bet most of us probably have. I know it's not my place to say anything but still I don't mind them coming with us, we can use all hands on deck for this one. The boys have good abilities that can help us if we need them and it's about time they get some real life experience. So I'm all for it if they want to come, they need to see what it's like outside of tournaments and arenas for a change. We'll just keep our senses sharp more than usual, that has to happen with a big group anyway." He looked at the boys for a moment then to the others, well at least there was his two cents. "Besides at least none of you have to worry about what's going on here while we are out there."

"I don't think that this is about experience or whether the boys are useful or not. Honestly...I think Zahara has a valid concern. If the boys are left alone here...are they going to stay here? Teenagers are rash and if they feel they need to help but have been left behind, they may sneak out and follow. It would cause more trouble than good. Though yes...bringing them with us is dangerous as well...what if we brought Broog or some such other to watch them?" Always the peacemaker and a look to her daughter, who was still being supiciously quiet.

She was intrigued that Sevilin wasn't participating and wondered for a moment if he was on Malik's side. Fianna apparently was on hers though not necessarily for the reasons she wanted. Zahara shook her head, "I've already lost two of my children, Malik, and then allowed my other children to be tormented by your brilliant plan. Our children are born and raised in the Underdark and they know the rules and the way things work down here. Furthermore, I highly doubt we're actually going to find them right now. They know their own weaknesses and they likely know our strengths, too. You can do what you want, but my children are coming."

Malik looked at Galesen and Fianna.
"Our life experiences are under far, far different circumstance. at my son's age I was enlisted and had been enlisted, in the military for some time and had the experience that goes with it. You were barely an elf when we first ecountered you, and Zahara and SEvilin were again trained from near birth in thier previous experiences."
then to his wife, and frowned lightly.
"Fine. if you want them to come, then we'll take broog with us. and I will hold you personally responsible for thier welfare. they get hurt I'm blaming you from insisting they get brought out there. I have more then enough protection here, and even more so now that we know what they are. there are methods to contain and prevent their invasion."
then a glance at Tybalt and a nod.
"Alright. so we have a method of tracking. So lets go to this spot that you saw, and be completely ready for whatever might be there. We'll have some air support from teh droag already on guard duty for the boys and I'll add two more to that assignment with broog in light of certain insistances."
resting a hand on Malvolence for a moment.
"Alright, are we all prepared?"

A small nod to Fianna before Galesen turned back to the others and listened quietly. Even when Tybalt spoke he just stood there watching, waiting for them to get a move on. "Well then we need to assume that when we encounter them they might know some of the abilities of the people they copied. It may seem like over kill but it doesn't hurt to be cautious." A small pause as Malik went over what they were going to do before he gave a nod to the drow. "It seems that everyone is ready so let's go then." A blink though as he looked around the room. "Is Mykorian coming with us? He may help us with tracking these 'nells." Slowly Galesen moved toward the door, meeting time was up it was time to move. Hopefully those stupid 'nells wont posses the kids by the time they find them.

Piper handed her mother a charcoal hooded cloak, as she was wearing her own dark gray and blue clothing from long ago. "You'll need this. Bright colors will just show you off." Because her mother was wearing a rather bright red, which meant it was autum in Andal apparently. But other than that she didn't say anything more and followed after Galesen, heading out even after he stopped and to the stables, pulling out the needed horses.
Taking the cloak, she pulled it on around her shoulders and clasped it securely. "Sometimes Malik dear, it's not what can get in but whom can get out that is the problem. For now...let's just stay together and get going. The fresher trails are the better they are to follow." Nodding then, "I'm well to go. Brough Anica as well."
He didn't want to agree with the surface trash, but she was right. Knowing his boy, he'd get out soon as he could looking to help and only end up making things worse. "Despite the differences on how we grew up...and the fact that I think they should stay here...there are other hazards to think of." Thusly heading up the the room with the children in it. "Boys, you're coming with us. Lyssie too. Get yourselves in your chainmail, armor, travel gear, whatever and bring your weapons too." Walking over and picking up his daughter. "Five minutes." And heading back down.
He came trotting up the steps, cloak on his back and travel back as well. "I'm coming Galesen, no worries. I think I may need some weapons though. I'm a dual wielder."

A blink to the boy and he smiled lightly. "Glad to see that you're coming along Mykorian, just give me a minute I'll get you something. How do you feel about daggers?" A look to Piper for a moment, it seemed her mood had changed and he didn't like that, seemed that out of everyone this was taking a major toll on her. So when they all got outside he went to the stables for a moment and brought out his travel gear and other things that he took with him when he went away for awhile, he just stored them in the stables just in case he left right from the fortress. So after gathering his things he let out a sharp whistle and Barhnel appeared right next to him, moments later his gear was on. Galesen didn't mind going bare back but he needed to take his things with him.
Patting Barhnel's side Galesen reached in a pack and brought out two long daggers and their scabbard. Turning to Mykorian he offered them handle first. "Here you go, take good care of them. If you need anything just ask." So after that he got up on his horse and rubbed the stallion's head lightly before looking to the others. "Alright we'll be heading that way." A point to his left where there was an opening. "I came out of there after seeing the fake Piper and Sevilin, where I saw them is somewhat far in. So just follow me and it wont take long."

She glanced between the adults aware that no one really agreed with her. She just had a bad feeling about leaving the children at home. Couldnt' really explain it, but there it was. They weren't anymore safe at home than they were out and about with them. Grabbing her own cloak, she checked to make sure she had her daggers and whip then glanced at Sevilin. "She rides with you." Lyssie was too young to begin weapons training and Sevilin could react faster with runes than Zahara could. She had Faete and Destyny saddled and ready to go as well as a mount she knew Sevilin could handle. Mounting up, she held the reins to the other horses, waiting for the boys.
Zykariel glanced at his friend for a moment as if he hadn't quite heard correctly and then it was a scramble to get said gear on as fast and tumble down the stairs ready to go. He was ready to go, using chainmail and shin guards but no other armor at all. Hopping on Destyny, he gave her a pat and then shook his head. "Let's go get them back!"

And Malik grabbed Zykariel's coat in a rather passive fashion and almost pulled him right off his horse, before glancing at him.
"This is not a game, this is not a chance for bravery, or for impressing anyone. You are only here and coming with us because I was outvoted."
looking over at his son.
"Both of you are going to stick to Broog like glue. you're going to do exactly what he says. I don't care if he tells you to crawl on your belly through glass, you better do it."
letting Zykariel go and helping him back in the saddle.
"Broog's existance right now is going to be devoted to your well being. You will have two droag watching you as well. you see anything, you notice anything, you send messages to us. use your bonds, no words. no using those weapons of yours without someone besides each other to back you."
looking between the boys.
"This is not the tournament. there are no rules here, or regulations. if something comes at you, assume completely it is with intent to kill. be on your guard at all times. these things can change form based on knowledge they gather. which means, Zykariel, since you were the last one to be targeted with thier 'scent trap' that your female friends, your school friends, can possibly be used against you. Sevilin, Piper, myself, Zahara can potentially be used against you. Same goes for you Malikhai."
Getting himself on Ramoth, and glancing a Broog, riding something that looked like a lion and a wolf had crossbred. it was huge, almost making the horses seem small. it had to be for Broog's mass.
"That goes for everyone. keep in mind that they can access information. they may know things. if someone gets separated, don't trust them when they come back. they might not be who they appear to be. Once we get to the site, we're going to scour it for any and all information. Piper and Fianna will be using Feir'dal tracking, as well as runes. anything that appears strange, let Zahara know about it for any possible alchemical testing. Sevilin will also be using runes, any strange animal life let me know and I'll interrogate it in my own manner. Keep your eyes open, senses sharp."
Looking at both boys again.
"And keep a level head about you. don't assume, don't panic, and don't get ahead of yourselves."
Then to Zahara.
"And keep in mind your responsible."
Before nodding to Galesen.
"Lead the way."

"I'll try my best with them." He was used to blunt double weapons, but sharp ones couldn't be too much harder. Or at least he assumed...there could be less use for counter balance when bracing against ones self but he would figrue it out as he went. A look to a horse that Piper brought to him by the reigns and he pulled himself up, hooking his feet in stirrups and he was ready to go.
"Fair enough. You'll be up and down off your horse a lot anyway...you know me. Once I get on I'm not getting off unless we're someplace we need to be, or I'm knocked off." Still hated horses, still hated riding them...this was his way of compromising. Butt stayed in saddle until he was where he damn well needed to be." Thusly plopping his daughter in the saddle of the horse his wife picked out for him, and then mounting up behine his daughter, setting his feet and taking hold of reins. "Malik keep your hands off my boy. He knows how he needs to act and he doesn't need a lecture." Last thing he wanted was his son turning to sour mood right now...and well, if anyone knew Sevilin he was highly protective of his eldest son when the boy was off kilter.
Indeed scrambling, getting himself into his armor and grabbing Ebony, heading out with his friend to mount up on Kerick. Though he did give an almost awed look to the beast Broog was on. That was awesome...or would be more so if bad things weren't happening. Thus he was reserved, however a blink as Yinn jumped up to his back and shoulder, latching claws to armor with a bark. Apparently, he was coming too. But a nod to his father...hm, looked like another one of those times where his father worried or perhaps cared more about Zykariel than himself. Teenage jealousy was horrible. Malikhai gave a nod however and waited patiently. "Understood."
"Less yapping, more riding." Giving Serino a kick to which he gave a little noise before startting off at a trot. Obviously was not a time that she was going to let him let Ramoth have her way and Galesen was just going to have to catch up and pass her to give more lead direction. But again, other than that she was quiet about things.
Fianna shook her head and wrinkled her nose as she was already mounted behind Anica's wings, watching her daughter take first go. "She's going to be trouble." She just knew it...her mood wasn't helping and there really was just no time to get the woman set back straight reasonably. Had to keep an eye on her. "Onward then, caution on alls parts."

A brief moment of horror at the thing Broog was riding and the fact that Broog was coming as well though he frowned as the lecture began. Any disgruntlement Zykariel was feeling at Malik's treatment of him vanished the moment his father spoke up. Shooting him a grateful look, he nodded to Malik and urged Destyny forward.
Zahara was feeling much the way Piper was. She saw no need to add anything to the current lectures and conversations starting and was simply ready to get out of town with a single-mindedness. Of course the reasons for their difference in reactions was probably as different as they were from each other. She kept her eyes peeled, watching on all sides for any possible danger. The waiting game was going to get on her nerves faster than anything.
