You DO know the char is a guy, right? xp As for Joker: The sociopathic good guy that eventually commits suicide over the death of a family member.

A mysterious fellow that comes to the hero every once in a while to teach him/her a new technique. It is revealed near the end that the man has been quite dead for the past few decades, which means that it was actually his ghost tutoring the hero.

A swordsman who joins the good guys claiming to be a powerful mage as well, but when it's found out that it's only the sword, he leaves and forces the player to embark on an insanely long sidequest to get him back.
