This is something I've been trying to figure out for a little wile. Perhapse someone can help with this question. In the Chaos Codex it says that all Chosen in the army take only one eletes choice, regardless of number of squads. Does that mean that different squads can have different marks of chaos? Or must the entire selection have the same mark?

Technically, you can have two Chosen retinues (limited by your 2 HQ choices) and a SINGLE squad as an Elite choice.

They CAN have different Marks, subject to the limitations of Marks. The retinues have to have the same Mark as the character they escort, the Mark they CAN have are limited by your Legion or the Mark of the your Lord.

actually you can have as many chosen squads as you wanted, they wouls still all count as a single elites choice
for instance, if you were playing a 3001+ game and could have 40 chosen.
you could split them into 8 - 5 man squads, which would have their weapon choices limited as if they were 5 man, but they'd all be considered one choice

Nope - just the one. Your first part about the total cap is correct, though. Emphasis mine:
C:CSM, pg.24
From 4 to 19 Chosen can be used to form retinues for the Chaos Lord and/or his Lieutenant. Additionally, a single unit of between 5 and 20 Chosen can be fielded as a normal Elites choice.

I love when people say " Insert Race here Rules/owns/is Most powerful, and I can beat anyone with it!!!"
This is Impossible. No single force is the greatest, regardless of what one says.

A force can be powerful, well thought out, and very difficult to take down, but using a proper counter-attack to the armies weakness can generally kill them off.
On a sidenote, I also love it when people say something like "I have a Insert Value Here Army, And I can owns with it, etc"

The value generally tends to be well over 3000.
Which makes me think, who would need an army thats like... 10,000 points? Seriously? I mean, how many people will actually play against an army that ridicolusly big? It would take like... a week to play a game with 10,000 Points.

The anti-chaos fifth chaos god removed from canon as questionable intellectual property.

Gone the way of the sensei, illuminati, undead chaos marines, space slann, imperial beastmen, zoats, effective ork artillery, and the squats.


Actually they never remove any fluff they just say that it is different tellings of the history from different perspectives. They have tributes to Malal all over the Chaos codex including the Sons of Malice and the Dreadaxe.

Pretty sure the Squats were wiped out by some alien force in the fluff (probably the nids) and the Zoats were killed off by the Tyranids as well as they were culled for being useless to the swarms at that point. Oh, and Imperial Beastmen are around too, just not as backed by the recent changes in the codex.

In the end all the fluff is canon, it is just a question of whether its the correct tale or not.

Chaos is as strong as anything else in the game. You may have meant story or fluff though when you said that, which is debateable. As far as the game goes though, theyre the same as the others.

Im not sure if you meant to pluralise Blood God to gods. But there is one.

You said you were german before. Though I dont see why you capitalize the first two letters of most of the army names (Im also refering to your intro post). Also in english you dont have to capitalize 'most', 'race' or 'power'. Nouns dont have to be capitalized in english.

Nono, Malal was ACTUALLY removed, due to potential intellectual property concerns with one of the writers. Tributes may yet exist, but there's only so much that can be effectively borrowed as 'fair use'.

But all of the rest of my examples were "written out" because they didn't, for one reason or another, fit with the vision of the settings as presented by the authors. I'm a huge proponent of using old fluff, particularly in army selection, you just have to recognize when it's been retconned out of existence (Imperial beastmen, effective Ork artillery, Sensei, Illuminati), when it's been simply eliminated within the fluff (Squats, Zoats), and when it's merely been ignored for a long time but has the potential for comeback (Jokaero, undead CSMs, Space Slann).
