"Well, if I'd killed him, I'd be bawling my eyes out," Tobias said flatly. "But it can't have been that bad... like I said, I killed an entire species. Dr. Faust was studying them, and he was so into it... and then I killed them all. Accidentally, but they were still all dead. And Faust had taught them sign language, and put so much time and effort into figuring out a link between them and human beings.... inititially, he was stunned, but he just ruffled my hair and said that they would have gone extinct anyway."

((I didn't die, I'm just no good at it! rofl ))
"Hey," Mephistohiles said, appearing at the door of the office.
"You look like him," Tobias said. "For a second I almost..." he stopped dead, staring at Faust. He swallowed. "He hasn't been dead for too long, has he?" Tobias asked uncertainly. "He looks terrible..."

"Same was always one to hold a grudge... looks like I have a lot to sort out," sighed Tobias. "Guten Tag, Doktor... Pity the circumstances are so grim, ne?" he turned away for a second, wiping his eyes under his glasses. Taking a deep breath, he said, "OK. Looks like there are a few decisions we need to make... and definitely a lot of stuff to replace... but I owe him that much."

"Lobbee, down!" Tobias barked. "He's really very gentle and he's usually friendly... don't know what's gotten into him..." he glanced at Netsubo. "Did you say you took away his free will? Why would you do that?"

"Milenko? That old Russian mummy is still alive?" Tobias asked. "But... that's awful... I still don't understand why he'd do that to such a self-possessed, dignified man..."
"We're obviously talking about different people now," Mephisto said.

"He was?" Tobias asked. "He would be... I think it's something about the classical Necromancer, they're terrified of being reanimated because they know what it means. With what you tried to do to him at Same's, I'm not surprised he freaked. But I think I can fix some of the damage."

Tobias cracked his neck and adjusted his glasses. "Let me get my kit. He's not allergic to any metals, is he?"
"No, I don't think so," Mephistophiles said. "Go with whatever holds up the best."

"I watched Same," Mephisto said. "I doubt I'd find it disturbing... but Netsubo might. Hon, you want to wait outside?"
