In shoujo manga the main girl's feelings turn out to be the right ones, in shonen the boy's. Naruto loved Sakura from the start, now she's grown out of her one sided crush on Sasuke and has come to love Naruto. What's good about the way Kishimoto has written this is that Sakura realized this on her own as she became a stronger person, no longer a girl brainwashed by her parents expectations of female behavior. That turns that standard shonen plot point into a nonsexist one. Ino's made a similar change, she no longer harasses Shikamaru because she thinks he's cool, hot looking and the leader. Shikamaru fell for the girl who challenged him and is like him. Naruto and Sakura are also alike and challenge each other to be better. Kishimoto made that point all along to clue the readers into knowing Naruto and Sakura would end up together. He's built that on a concrete level in part 2. Sakura does love Naruto now, they work as equal partners.

Wow.
I think someone's logic just failed.
Sakura never said she loved Naruto, and you can't say that 100 percent until she does.
And Sakura's parents brainwashing her? Bullshit. We haven't even seen Sakura's parents.
Someone's little too stuck up in their own feminist beliefs.

Or if you think dub is all fake, here's the translated Japanese anime:
"I just want you to accept me, Sasuke-kun."
English manga:
"In fact, the one person whose opinion I value...the only one I really want to be close to...is you, Sasuke."
Translated manga:
"All I want is for you to acknowledge me."
Okay. So we all get the message right? Isn't the main theme along the lines of "Accepting other people"?
Sakura obviously wants to get accepted by Sasuke.
Hinata wants to be accepted by Naruto.
Naruto wants to be accepted by SASUKE.
Quote Kakashi: Episode 108:
"Right now, Naruto wants to be acknowledged, not by you or me, but by Sasuke."
Naruto already accepts Sakura and Sasuke, and Sakura already accepts Naruto and Sasuke. Sasuke has yet to accept both. If the theme is acceptance, and Naruto and Sakura already have that, then in MY personal view, they can't work towards any actual development.
Sakura confessed her love for Sasuke, then Naruto was hospitalized after failing to bring him back. Sakura said they'll both bring him back, went to train under Tsunade, and then Naruto left the village. He came back two years later, and suddenly they're flirting?
That's not DEVELOPMENT.
Also, Sasuke did tell Naruto that he was his best friend, and he admitted to Naruto that he and Sakura were dear to him. But then he "cut the bonds". So that basically means he has to start all over again, in my opinion. After all, Sakura and Naruto may still love Sasuke, but I don't think they'll forgive him the full 100%. They all have to work towards full acceptance, but when it comes to Sasuke. So no NaruSaku development.
As for Sakura learning to love Naruto on her own...didn't she learn to love Sasuke on her own as well? It's not like Sasuke chased after her: he refused her affections, and she didn't give up. (And yes, I know that Naruto didn't give up either...at first. *coughHOSPITALHUGSCENEcough*)
