I often start with an item and try to make something interesting. also you could keep to one or two main colors and do a theme like that smile right now I took the ninja top and made it look good with the red skirt etc.

Eh, a good way to get gold is to buy a few evolving items. Sure, you're paying real money for fake, but after selling three items for 200,000 gold a pop you're set for quite a while.

Music is often my muse. Sometimes I'll base an avatar off whatever song I'm listening to. Other times, I'll take a new pose from an EI and use it as my starting point. My entire current avatar was based on my Jinxi's Charm.

Don't smoke, so no clue about it. It's a good idea to get money for the goverment, since vice is actually a booming indrusty right now. Read that porn sites and stores, and strip clubs are doing around 10% better then last year.
It's an amusing way to parody they economy.
