Aren't those the same kind of cysts you can just crush and they'll go away? I had a friend who had one on the back of his hand and he was told he could just deal with it himself.
Someone smashed his hand with a book, burst the thing, and it went away. Not that you could do that with your elbow, though.

Sometimes they go away, sometimes they will come back. Smashing them use to be the old way of doing it. They'd inject some sort of anti-bacterial jelly, then smash it.
I got mine crushed while weightlifting, and it was gone for a couple of weeks and came back.
