Danny managed to obtain several rare items of value as he searched the destroyed buildings of New York. he had recently found some one's stash of booze that seemed to have been collected after the incident and was starting to sway and stumble through the wraveged streets of NY strongly regretting tasting a sip of the foul liquid. A canine corpse continued to follow him about despite the fact that he had released several if not all of the dead corpses he had been pupeting earlier. "thanks for hanging with me, i don't really know if it is my subconscious that keeps you about or just maybe something in your dead brain that wants to stay with me, but it is greatly appreciated," he talked to the dead dog as if it were another person, most likely conversing with his subconscious. Continuous searching only seemed to depress Danny more as he found less signs of what he was looking for, "where are the game systems!" he sighed tossing aside another wreaked game system as he wondered weather the humans were scavenging here instead. "why does it have to be game systems they take, what happened to the necessities like food instead" he grumbled to the dog as he clamored over some more rubble. A creak made him stop for a moment and he started to feel wary about his position "That cant be good..." he said just as the rubble underneath him crumbled and Danny let out a sharp shot before dissapearing beneath the rubble and the dog simply sat by the hole.

This was not the first time that Cecilia had come across people who were pessimistic, but they had only been the icing on the cake. Sadness here was the entire cake filled with plenty of sugar and calories, a heart attack waiting to happen. Of course if one were to bite into her, they would only taste tongue clicking bitterness. However, she was Sadness for a reason. Cecilia watched as Anya brought the emotion to her feet and figuratively knocked some sense into her. After Sadness had regained control of herself, Cecilia began to follow once again. She took the time to allow her eyes to roam over the land of Azarath. She was sure that if it hadn't been taken over by Rage, it was a very beautiful place. She was relieved when they finally came upon a very large and ominous looking castle. At least, it looked like a castle. "I'm surprised we haven't run into any of the other emotions." Cecilia was sure that there were most likely quite a few of them. But they weren't here to enjoy hospitality. "Well, we didn't travel this far just to stand outside looking like morons." She walked forward towards the massive doors of the castle. The others would either follow her or stay behind. It did not matter to Cecilia either way.

Lucien smiled a little, "A hero? That doesn't sound like me. I've never been the hero type." He said referring back to his rather tyrannical past actions. "Heroes don't kill off their former friends, they don't kill people to take their powers and they certainly don't wage war on Japan." When she said they needed to live in this particular moment he knew this was only an illusion, it was nice, wonderful even to be living the way they were even for a moment, but this couldn't last they both had responsibilities and people counting on them that they needed to return to. "Amara if we could stay here the world would truly be perfect. But we both know we can't, It's a miracle that I'm even in this country, if anyone whose watched the news saw me they would have a mob coming here for my head." He sighed and leaned back a little, when she mentioned Love Lucien just smiled and shook his head. "Love is the one thing that can go on without being said, it's a given when the two of us are together."

"Someone once told me a hero is not perfect, he or she is not what people expect. They are imperfect, flawed, but what makes a person a true hero...but it is the sacrifice they make in a time of peril" she said trying to prove her point and the fact that she had faith in him. Lucien often tended to over think many things as she smirked. "Just stop worrying about what tomorrow may hold, that's what I meant" she said with a smile. She inched closer to Lucien, laying her head on his shoulder, letting the silence converse for them.

((okay. A minor warning. If your squeemish, don't read this post. ^^; I sometimes get carried away with descriptions...))
As Cecilia pushed open the door to the castle, it revealed a wide, almost church-like interior. It had a wide, high, and domed ceiling that was reminicent of a gothic cathedral. In fact, that was exactly what this first room could be described as: a gothic cathedral. But without the pews. It was just one big empty room with a very very high domed ceiling. There were columns at intervals along the length of the room, which supported a kind of stony balcony on both left and right sides of the huge room. There were no windows in this room, as this only appeared to be a grand foyer of sorts. Above the doorway where the group was entering was another small walkway/balcony, so there was a short ceiling before the room expanded in to that high and lofty ceiling in the rest of the foyer.
At the opposite end of the room from the door appeared to be where an altar should be in a church. Only there was no altar. There was just a five stairs leading up to a wide stone stage. There were no treasure chest or tables in this room at all. This would mean that there would be no random objects to steal or use later should anyone think to look for any.
While everything else appeared like a serene church, that stone stage had a row of pointed metal stakes. Impaled upon the spikes, there were body parts. If anyone of the group members went closer to investigate, they wouldn't be able to distinguish what parts fit where on a human form. Instead of blood, each spike had splotches and drips of different colors: green, yellow, yellow-green et cetera. These were the body parts of some of Sydney's emotions. Of course, each color would be the only way they would be able to tell what emotions were 'dead' already.
When she saw the set up of the main foyer of the castle, Sadness' eyes went wide. She was obviously shocked by what she saw. "No......" she whispered before walking towards the gory and sadistic display that Rage had her visitors (not that she would get any) see right away once they opened the door. Maybe it was a way for Rage to be satisfied that she had defeated all of Sydney's emotions? Who knew what went through that twisted emotion's mind!?
As she walked forward, Sadness' footsteps became faster and faster until she was running. She didn't stop until she was standing before a pike that held the most recent addition. It was a head. And it was still bleeding its bright orange color. "Hap... Happiness....." Sadness managed to murmur. The Emotion couldn't feel her legs anymore and all strength left her body as she collapsed to her hands and knees on the floor, silently crying.
Anya followed after Cecilia through the front door. The young Cosmic Owl had basically spoke what Anya was currently thinking at that moment. Why the hell were they standing around before a door that they obviously had to open to reach their objective? As such the Poison Owl followed immediately after Cecilia and into the massive foyer of the castle. Once inside, Anya was horrified by what she saw at the opposite end of the room. She had seen some awful things in her lifetime, and this was probably the worst. Her eyes were wide in disbelief and for once Anya was shocked into speechlessness.

Roulin's eyes rested upon the gothic interior of the castle they'd approached after an hour of walking. He expected this from Sydney. The darkness suited the Herald pretty well. After passing through the doors, the first thing his eyes sat upon were the spires of stones that each had a...body part? What apparently was blood stained the length of each spire in blotches and specks. Given from Sadness' more than sad approach to these monuments of pain and anguish, he could that the people that were torn apart weren't just thoughts or idea running around the Herald's bleak mind. These were emotions. Parts of the real Sydney that for sure would keep Rage in her place had they saw this coming.
The Owl of Life felt lesser than that when he walked into the cathedral. He felt, smelled and tasted death in the air. Rage was sadistic and even went as far as to kill her own relatives. Covering his mouth with his left hand, Roulin sighed out in remorse for the unhappy emotion. "Oh my god, this is...this is horrible...." spoke the bushy haired Owl silently. At this point, he didn't know whether to comfort Sadness, or think of a plan. If Rage could take out multiple emotions, either the emotion herself was incredibly powerful, or she had more than one emotion working with her. Both possibilities seemed more likely than just one individually....

To Cecilia, the inside of the castle looked like a very ancient gothic church. However, instead of an alter, she saw something that made her stomach churn. She shook her head in disgust and sadness. How many emotions had Rage killed in such a brutal manner? How many were left alive? How many were working for Rage? Cecilia's heart tore. She bit down hard on her lip to keep her tears at bay. The head of Happiness blindly stared at them, orange blood pouring from her eye sockets. Cecilia slowly approached Sadness and slipped her arms around the emotion i na comforting embrace, stroking her long blonde hair. "We'll do everything it takes to avenge the death of all the emotions. No matter how long it takes," she said soothingly, yet with a hint of firmness as well. She held Sadness for a few more moments before she slowly broke away and rubbed her back softly. "I wouldn't be surprised if Rage already knows we're here," she said looking around trying to avoid looking at the many bodies again.

Suddenly, a voice burst out into laughter. It didn't sound normal. It sounded like it was coming from the very walls and the shadows they made in the foyer. Like it came from everywhere. "You Humans are so foolish!" the voice said aloud, still laughing."Damn right they are." Arrogance's familiar voice came from the left side of the stage. She stepped out of a shadow and into the light, behind the row of gruesome spikes. She stood with a smirk on her lips as she watched Roulin and his friends. "Humans can be so stupid.""It seems they will always be so very dense, Arrogance." Another voice spoke out from the shadows on the right side of the stage opposite Arrogance. This time a new Emotion stepped out from the shadows there. She wore a magenta colored sash. Her eyes looked down at the collapsed Sadness with what appeared to be disdain or something akin to it. This Emotion was known as Intelligence.A third figure emerged from the wall between Arrogance and the other Emotion. Instead of a simple distinguishing sash around her waist, this woman wore a long red dress. "I don't know why you wasted your time coming back here, Sadness. It was too late the moment you and that idiot, Happiness, decided to leave." This woman was Rage. She has this sadistic little smile on her face. She knew what Sadness and Happiness had tried to do. It was a predictable little stunt they had pulled off to try to prevent her escape. "You've already lost!" Rage said, her eyes lighting up with her statement in some sort of perverse joy."How could you!?" Sadness finally shouted out. She could no longer take the welling emotions inside of her. "You killed them! You killed them all! Do you know what this means!? You should know best, Intelligence!" Sadness shouted turning to the woman with the pink sash, her tear stained face clear now as she looked at the other three Emotions. "This is not some game! You are killing Sister Sydney!""Who cares about her?" Rage retorted to Sadness' outburst, "That b***h is a useless bag of bones that should have let me take control eons ago."

Roulin felt a surge of anger rush through him like a water which was once held back by a powerful dam. The longer he gazed upon the dead, mangled bodies of the emotions that once were, the more the sensation enveloped his body. Cecilia was already on damage control, not that it would help. Not because her efforts were weak, but because the travesty before them was far, far too strong. To make things worst, their target and two others finally decided to drop by, all of them wearing victorious smirks like prized jewels or mink coats. Sadness indentified the unknown two as Intelligence, who was should've known better than to take this route, and Arrogance....the b***h. Simmering with the red sashed emotion before him, Roulin stepped forward, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Are you having fun destroying your own home? If you take out all these emotions, don't you know what'll happen to Sydney? To yourself?" reasoned the young, bewildered Owl. "Intelligence? C'mon! You're stupid for working with Rage! She'll probably kill you like she did them!"

Intelligence appeared unfazed by Roulin's admonishment of her choice of action to side with Rage. "Of course I know what will happen to her." she replied smoothly and calmly. Unlike Arrogance and Rage, Intelligence was calm in the face of enemies. She was a strategist. "Do not look at me like I am some stupid Human like yourself. I have my reasons for assisting Cousin Rage. All of which you would not understand." She didn't seem to care that Roulin was the new Life Owl at all, and could quite possibly kill her. She knew that the Owls in this group would most likely be handicapped by being in Azarath. So she knew that they would probably be a minimal threat to her. "Besides, Rage herself has already taken this into account with my help. Sydney as you know her is not dead. In order to keep the body alive we must keep Sydney alive here in Azarath. We have not killed her. Simply imprisoned her" As Intelligence explained, a pinkish tinted shadow swirled to form a portal on the floor of the stage next to her. A glowing reddish crystal-like object emerged slowly up from the stone floor. Within the crystal, the group could see the unconscious figure of the real Sydney, as if she was frozen alive. "See? She is alive."
Arrogance, simply rolled her eyes at Sadness and Roulin. The two of them were being such big cry babies from her point of view. "The others? Ha! They were useless too! You have no idea how much, Puny Human." Arrogance retorted to Roulin.
Rage's smirk abruptly disappeared when Roulin and Sadness started shouting at her. It slowly developed into a scowl which turned into a growling expression. As her anger rose, The aura around her started to pulse with a deep reddish hue. The shadows in the huge foyer responded to it as well by pulsing with reddish glow and beginning to swirl and converge towards Rage herself. Sadness' own shadow quickly moved and grew into a huge reddish-black hand which enveloped Sadness' figure into a grasp stronger than the tinier Emotion could ever be. Sadness cried out in pain as the shadow hand was slowly crushing her, which cut off whatever air she breathed in. Rage was so powerful now that Sadness clearly could not do anything against her now. Not know that the other Emotions were dead. When other Emotions disappeared, it had disrupted the balance within Sydney's mind. Driving Sydney deeper into a rage as Rage took over by killing the others. "I have no care for Sydney since she locked me away in the farthest reaches of Azarath!" The same kind of hands reached out the shadows around the room from all directions towards each of the group: Roulin, Cecilia, Anya, Nikolai, and Demios would all have to move quickly or risk being captured.
Anya tensed, getting ready for a fight when Rage, Intelligence, and Arrogance finally appeared before them. She listened as both Sadness and Roulin gave the three rogue Emotions a piece of their minds. Anya didn't fully understand what everything being said meant, but she knew that if Rage won, they would have a HUGE problem on their hands in the real world. 's**t!' she cursed mentally as huge shadow hands emerged from the shadows to their left, right, behind, below, and even above. <********> she cursed again, barely managing to jump away from one hand underneath her. However, she didn't quite see a hand clenched in a fist which hit her from the left, sending her flying across the room, rolling across the floor before stopping...

Cecilia clenched her fists as she looked upon Rage and the two emotions who flagged her. One wore a deep magenta sash and was introduced as Intelligence. The other, she knew as Arrogance as they had had the pleasure of meeting her a little over an hour ago. And in the middle, Cecilia assumed was rage. She looked like the others, but she wore a long ornate red gown that Cecilia could have admired for its taste, but it really wasn't the time to be exchanging fashion tips. As Intelligence spoke, Cecilia could not help, but respond. "Intelligence, huh? That's not an emotion. It's a trait. One is not born with Intelligence, they earn it. And clearly, you are not the brightest crayon in the box if you are working alongside Rage. You do know that she is just using you as a meatshield. Oh, wait...I forgot, you're a dim bulb," Cecilia sneered. Yet, before she could continue, massive shadow like hands emerged shooting at the group from all directions. Cecilia leaped into the air in attempts to dodge, but one came from below and pushed her forcefully into the ceiling of the cathedral. Cecilia began to fall fast, but she regained control and manipulated the gravity around her body so that she stopped just a few inches from the ground, preveenting herself from becoming a blueberry pancake.

Demios had remained quiet for the most part, when he entered the place with them he was shocked at first by the carnage, but he wasn't too surprised if this was truly the embodiment of rage then it would be rash, hostile, and destructive. He wanted to say something but everyone else began yelling at the emotions. However he could help but wonder something "Well its seems rather obvious you killed logic a long time ago" he said coldly. When the darkness came towards them Demios was a bit worried about using magic seeing as they weren't in the normal world he couldn't be sure how well it'd work here or what the side effects could be. He decided his best bet would be to use his weapon. He quickly held his hand out forming the silence glaive which had been formed originally by Demios's magic and the raven force. He wondered if this would be able to hurt them like an artifact would. He then held the glaive in front of him "Silent Dome" He said trying to channel his magic through the weapon as best he could to avoid direct side effects. Suddenly a barrier formed over all of them attempting to block part of the darkness. Demios frowned as he looked at them "I'm not sure how long this will last, so everyone be ready" He said.

Roulin could feel that in Azarath his powers were more dampened than they ever have been. This wouldn't render him useless, but it did make him less of a threat. When Cecilia and Demios made their quips, the owl found himself snickering. They both had a valid point, though Cecilia's point was something he found odd. Intelligence was a trait, but this wasn't his mind. Evading the attacks, Roulin fired off a beam of light into the hand that was above him. It only burrowed through instead of breaking apart the darkness. "s**t..." If light was weakened, then he hoped that darkness would be strengthened. Would it even effect the Herald though? Using Nikolai's power of darkness he gained from him, Roulin sent a hand of shadows at the crystal that contained Sydney. He'd wait to deem the mission a rescue one as soon as Rage proved to be a real threat.

Nikolai had remained silent as the group traveled to Rage's castle. He could sense something was wrong, but he didn't know what, he just had a bad feeling about all of this. The feeling got even worse when they saw Rage's castle. Nikolai wasn't stunned into silence, he just couldn't think of anything to say. Upon entering the main foyer of the castle, Nik's eyes immediately locked on to the splashes of colors in the room. If his eyes weren't locked onto the body parts that dripped splotches of bright and vibrant colors, he could have sworn it was just paint. Of course, his eyes locked onto what Sadness was looking at; and it made his stomach do back flips. Now Nik was stunned into silence. Whatever this perverse display was, it was not one bit amusing to Nikolai. Frowning, Nik listened to the banter back and forth between Cecilia and Roulin and Rage and her cohorts. He could tell it was useless to try and talk things out now. They were dealing with a bottomless source of Rage, an insurmountable amount of Arrogance and an intelligent monster. When Rage attacked, she sent a number of shadow hands after him.
Nik had already been prepared for a fight, and he quickly dodged the first few hands that came after him. He didn't want to risk going toe to toe with Rage using shadow powers, he knew he'd get his a** handed to him. He simply dodge to the best of his ability and when he got cornered, he used his scythe to cut through the shadows. He was out of the barrier when Demios called it up, so he ducked dodged and swung his way over to the hand that had Sadness constricted. When he reached it, he swung his scythe across the shadow hand and cut her free, quickly saying, "Sadness! Rage may be powerful, but you're just as powerful! Her Rage is fueled by Sydney's rage, but Sydney's rage is fueled by sadness. You have to help us fight her!" Nikolai was slightly distracted, so he failed to see a very large right hook coming for his face.
The fist hit Nik square in the face, throwing him back a good twenty feet, right into the wall. Nik remembered this was the sort of thing that happened while he was sparring with Cecilia, and quickly formed a shield of shadow around him to absorb the impact, and just as quickly banished the shield and landed on his feet, just in time to see another fist headed right for him. He ducked under it and rolled forward, tumbling into a run, all that time in the circus really paid off flexibility-wise. He was running right for Sadness, quickly grabbing her and scooping her up, carrying her back to the entryway and setting her down, relatively out of harm's way. If they lost Sadness too, there may as well have been no chance whatsoever of winning against Rage. Nik turned back around and cut through a shadow hand that was aimed for either him or Sadness, he wasn't quite sure. Either way, this was going to be a tough fight.

As soon as Cecilia's feet touched the ground, she shot forth at great speed swiftly pulling her chainwhip from her waist as she did so. Nearing Rage, she brought her weapon down in an attempt to strike the emotion, which had caused so many to suffer. Because of the affect that Azarath had on her, her powers were greatly diluted. She was unable to use her cosmic abilities and was forced to rely on her skills with a weapon and her gravitational abilities. In other words, she was very much useless in this mission, yet she had chosen to come along because, even though it was a Herald that was in danger, Cecilia refused to allow her to suffer without attempting to do something about it. She only hoped that what had happened to her in New York wouldn't happen here. She had already made one foolish move. She could not afford to make another one that might very well cost her her life this time.
