If you must know, I was playing with the idea that he could utilize a form of alchemy, or transmutation, in the manner of Fullmetal Alchemist, whereby can transform the elements into another form.
For instance, he has a lot of nails. He could grab a handful of them and form a katar in his hand to fight with.
Bear in mind this is at max magic level, so may not be for quite a while.
Anyway, alchemy ties into his sign, which is the Hanged Man.
It's like a cycle of sacrifice and reward. He gives something up to gain something better: giving up a crush to find love, giving up a piece of the past to gain insight into the future, giving up humanity for enlightenment.

Well if I recall the handclap thing was so he was forming himself into a transmutation circle. I don't think I wanna mess with circles. XP All those crazy symbols and such, too much to think about.

You can just say what type of symbol they are, you wouldn't have to describe them.

But when it gets down to very refined things the circles are very, very complex, with multiple levels and symbols, often accompanied with text. It's akin to doing chemistry, except instead of just mixing compounds to do it, you have to write out the formula for the reaction and what takes place and what goes in and what goes out and what's lost.
It would take hours just to write it all down.
That sort of thing wouldn't work in a combat situation. Totally wouldn't look as cool either. XP

It's okay Joey, I'm uncreative too, haha. Aliana's just going to be really fast and jump really high. Later I think she's going to be able to jump on air (think Samus's little double-jump thing only multiple times) and maybe stand on it a while after that. I'm toying with the idea of full flight or maybe the ability to turn into a certain animal that can fly, but I'm still thinking about it and only once she's fully harnessed the magic.
(I've just really wanted to share that for a while, sorry for babbling, hehehe.)
