Nathan somehow turned the push into a spinning kick. There was no chance it would hit, but it might provide a distraction. "Get him, now! All at once!" Nathan shouted. They knew where he was and that was perfect.

((Hey, don't post too much without me - I just gotta shower and I'll brb.))

((Go post crazy, everyone!))

Blaine stumbled from the attack but regained his balance. He charged Crash.

Mike nearly shivered as he felt what seemed a personality devoid of emotion, maybe it wasn't the best idea to go poking around without having become stronger first. He glanced over at the clock, how long had he been training? He couldn't remember, but he was pretty sure that his hour of maintaining the prism was drawing close. Hopefully someone would be able to tell him what to do next.

Crash jumped back and disappeared into the smoke. He began to prowl silently.

The young Blazers had no choice but to continue training alone. Word had gotten around the base about what had happened, and no one wanted anything to do with those responsible.

Mike sustained the prism for another twenty minutes or so just to make sure he had reached his hour minimum for the training. He then turned to Anatoly, "Sorry to interrupt your training, but what's the second level of training for Ice 1? No one ever told me and I'm not sure I want to try and find Wilde to ask, he might not be in a good mood right now."

"I never really had any formal ice training. They just kind of... gave it to me and had me experiment with it. But here's the bottom line - the Ice mystickers, in my experience, are very good for defensive armor or for weapons, but Ice 1 doesn't have any real excess of power to sustain a full armor set, like an Ice 2 can. So, you have to economize your material. Like this." He swiped the sticker and created the parallel bars down his limbs and the ice studs on his hands. "This is my preferred armor type, but you have to be careful not to take any body shots like this."

"OK, thank you." Mike said thinking over in his head weapons and armor, armor and weapons. He thought about what type of armor would be the most helpful to him going over a couple of different concepts in his head all adapted to specific situations more that just a general use. Finally he figured the most important thing for him to be able to do that would be to be able to control and change the shape/form of his Ice 1 as he needed to. He slowly enlarged the prism in his hand and took hold of it first forming it into a knife. He wasn't sure how strong it was compared to the real thing, but he was sure it could be helpful if he had no other choice, besides he'd never found a knife that could do this: and with that thought he elongated the blade to that of a sword, or this he thought taking hold of the hilt with both hands as he formed it into a spear/lance object. He felt himself getting dizzy, but he had one last thing he wanted to try before taking a break. Changing it back to a sword he charged straight towards one of the training dummies acting as if he was going to stab it straight through, and about a foot before it would have hit he forced the ice to shoot out to the side and curve back in to try and hit the dummy from the side. He collapsed before it connected though and rolled over doing his best to try and not pass out. Obviously he wasn't experienced enough yet to keep changing his Ice 1's form. He knew that if he tried to use that in combat he'd only be able to pull it off once, maybe twice without pushing himself too far. He'd need to get better control before testing that out in an actual fight.

((Sorry about taking so long, I have other things I have to take care of right now so I'm posting in between those.))

Nathan moved. He didn't know where and he wasn't sure why, but staying where he was would be stupid. "Split up," he advised. "Try to get on multiple sides of him."

"Keep in mind, ice is decently strong, but it has two faults," Anatoly reminded Mike. "First is it's slippery. Second is it's fragile. But here's a fun trick." Anatoly swiped the Mysticker and blew over his hand. Caltrops poured onto the ground in front of him.

Mike turned his head still laying on the ground and said, "Yeah, I could see how that would be helpful. Out of curiosity how many missions did you have to do to get a stronger mysticker?" Mike asked this not out of greed, but more so that he'd have a goal. Before he would bother trying to get another mysticker first he would perfect the one he already owned. He took a deep breath and his head cleared some, but he felt like his brain was being used as a punching bag. He'd definitely pushed himself too far, but at least he got his answer. His trick would be possible, just it would also most likely be debilitating to himself. If he used it before he got better at controlling his mysticker it would have to be a one-shot last resort. Otherwise his opponent wouldn't have any problems disposing of him afterwards.

((CALTROPS ARE OFFICIALLY THE TRICK OF VENOM3001.))

Mike got his breath back rather quickly. It seemed that the Ice Sticker was recharging Mike. He got a feeling of approval; it thought he was doing well?

"I don't know, really. I got Skulltap as a special case." Anatoly paused. "I just had a terrible awesome idea."

He melted his old caltrops and spat a new caltrop onto the ground. "Everyone, stand back from this," Anatoly commanded, wrenching the arm off a practice dummy and placing it on the ground beside the caltrop. "This may end horribly, everyone on the other side of the arm." When everyone was there, he swiped the Mysticker and extended his hand.

"Fire," he whispered for good luck. Crack.

A caltrop needle buried itself in the arm. Two of them shot off and jabbed into the wall and ceiling. One shot into the head of the armless practice dummy. The shattered "core" of the caltrop sat where it had been.

"Whoa."

Anatoly's eyes rolled back and he nearly fell into a swoon, but he had done it; he had created an Ice grenade.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 01, 2009 3:16 pm

"This is ******** awesome," Anatoly declared as he fell back against the wall, panting. "Once I rest a moment, I'm figuring out how to make a shaped charge." He slid down to a sitting position.

The ice grenade itself hadn't been too bad. In the spherical core, he'd made dozens of alternating ice and water layers. By flash-freezing the water, the expanding ice blasted fragments of the shell and the caltrop spikes.

But best of all, he could turn a caltrop into a grenade remotely.
