"Oh no! Not another one of those nasty attacks!" Unfortunately Combusken had come to close for Misdreavus to dodge the attack even if she went intangible. So the Flamethrower hit her right on causing massive damage. When the flames died down it seemed like the attack still wasn't enough to do the strong ghost pokemon in. Just barely floating anymore the ghost pokemon shot a glare at the Combusken before gathering the last of her strength and shot off one last Psybeam before falling to the ground. "Oh no! Misdreavus come back!" The green sparkle recalled the pokemon tears coming down its face. "Oh you poor thing! You did so well! Don't worry you will be avenged by my next pokemon!" Putting Misdreavus' pokeball away he pulled out another and let out a Lombre. The grass and water type pokemon was rather strange looking but it was strong none the less.
In the air Luffy was helpless and he took the Wing Attack head on. He let out a few cries as the wings hit him but he proved he was made of tougher stuff and manged to land on the ground on his feet. "Are you all right Luffy?" Robin called out worried about her pokemon. Glancing back Luffy nodded, he was pretty hurt but he would be damned if this stupid bird took him down. Still he probably wouldn't be able to take another attack so this one better be good. "Ok if your good then lets show them your new attack, Brick Break!" Nodding again Luffy dashed forward once more and lept into the air his tail glowing once more as he gathered his strength ready to swat that bird back down to the ground.
~~~~~~~~~
Well, if this was the Bidoof from before then it should still be pretty hurt. Still Aidan did not really want it around the pokemon center, if it attacked the kids it would be bad. "All right, Gible lets just take this pokemon far away from the pokemon center, no need to hurt it to much." While that wasn't to much of Gibles strong suit, not hurting things that is, she nodded in understanding, there was no honor in fighting a wounded pokemon.
Across from them the Bidoof seemed to stiffen up, they were underestimating him! That wasn't what they were supposed to do! Growling at them the Bidoof felt a strength in him grow and soon his whole body was glowing and suddenly everything seemed a bit smaller then it was before. Blinking a few times the former Bidoof looked down at itself and realized that it had evolved into its stronger form. Looking over at the two humans he forgot his anger as he looked into the sweet face of the girl. Ok the boy wasn't that cute but he didn't seem to want to do any harm to him.
Meanwhile Aidan and Alice watched the pokemon evolve with a lot of interest. Neither of them had ever seen a pokemon evolve before and it was very interesting. When the pokemon was done they looked at it curiously, it didn't seem so angry anymore. In front of them Gible stared at it unsure just what had happened, the weak looking pokemon from before was now much stronger looking. In her mind Gible wondered if she could evolve, she wanted to be much stronger then she was now.
As Alice looked at the newly evolved, and much less mean looking pokemon she couldn't help but think how cute it was. Before she knew it she was going forward and wrapping her arms around him. "He is so cute!" She squealed startling both Aidan and the Bibarel.
Aidan stared at the scene in front of him with some mild amusement. The newly evolved pokemon didn't seem to want to hurt them anymore, in fact it seemed to like the hug it was receiving now. Suddenly an idea hit him. Reaching behind his back he pulled out a pokeball and stepping past a still confused Gible he went over to Alice and handed it to her. "Alice since you have been such a good girl and so brave lately I think you deserve this." He gifted her with one of his small smiles as he pressed the pokeball into her hand.
Staring up at her big brother with wide eyes Alice couldn't help but stare at the pokeball in his hand. "Yo-you mean it?" Aidan just nodded. "Thank you!" She cried as she gave him a quick hug before turning to face the Bibarel. "Bibarel, would you like to be my friend and stay with me?" She asked a determined look on her tiny face. The pokemon just stared at her for a moment as if thinking it over before nodding a yes. Alice grinned before she held the pokeball out and watched as the normal type pressed a paw down onto it and was sucked inside with little fuss.
"Congradulations Alice. Now Bibarel will be able to protect you. I might not always be around to ok?" Aidan warned with a small smile. He didn't have any idea how true his words would prove to be.
Kilik looked down at the Charmander and smiled. Baby Pokemon were the cutest, really. He handed the Nurse his Aggron's ball and leaned against the counter. "My day's been fantastic!" he laughed, "It started out rather dull, y'know? I battled Mike, you saw that, then I met up with Rena. She helped me train my Lairon then I got a call from my dad," he felt like he was rambling on so he got straight to the point: "Moral of the story is my Lairon finally evolved. I'm so happy that he did." He scratched the back of his head.
Cable hopped down and walked over to the Charmander. He extended his nub of a hand and offered to shake. Boy, could he remember when he was that little. Afraid of everything and anything that came at him. It was a wonder that he even got to a point to talk with other Pokemon. He wanted to send across a message that being afraid is okay, but that not everyone was scary.
Kilik looked down at his Pokemon and crossed his arms over his chest, pushing off from the counter to walk around a little. "How about you, Kas?" he asked, "Your day been pretty good?" he took a glance at the Charmander, "I'd guess, since that egg you were carrying hatched." He laughed, drumming his fingers on his bicep.
He wasn't sure why but all of a sudden Keegan found himself to be craving a cheeseburger. He also felt a little less worried now that Mitsu was standing on her own and looking a lot better than before. Now Keegan had only been to Slateport once before this (on an Egg run, a few years back no less) but that still didn't mean he knew where any of the good places to eat were. He'd been about to turn and lead Mitsu out into the main lobby but she'd stopped, and when he looked back at her the seriousness on her face already seemed to pose the question he had expected her to ask. He looked down at his scar-free arm and touched it gently, as though expecting the previous marks to come back at any time, and looked directly into her eyes. "Of course not," he answered, reaching up and placing a hand on her shoulder. "Mitsu, your secret is safe with me."
Okay, so maybe Keegan wasn't often known for his friendliness and niceness, and yeah, he'd been called a jerk (and much, much worse) many times in his lifetime, but all that aside, he was a man of his word. "Now, how about that lunch?" he asked, motioning for Mitsu to follow him as he began to walk. ===== Now that its energy had been fully restored, Starrie's center core shimmered with a healthy glow. Aska flew around in a wide circle, eying the Staryu carefully. Now it was at full health again, and she had nothing to help her recover her own health. The Pidgeotto let out an indignant squawk at the unfairness of it all. Miharu chuckled a little, already guessing that Aska was possibly the most competitive of all of her Pokemon (except for maybe Petunia and her love for fighting). The small girl touched a finger to her lips, wondering what sort of obstacles she could throw into the training match to make it more interesting. She looked up at Aska and smiled. "Aska, I want you to complete a loop-de-loop without getting hit by Starrie's Water Gun," she called, glancing from one Pokemon to the other. Aska nodded, looking down at the star-shaped Pokemon. No problem, she was much faster, right?
It turned out to be a lot tougher than the Pidgeotto thought, as after her second try she was rather wet (Starrie had chosen to tone down the power of its attack and simply soak Aska with water rather than harm her) and she had barely managed to get into position. The bird clicked her beak impatiently and flew down towards the Staryu, giving a quick flap of her wings and sending a cloud of feathers falling towards the water type. The distraction turned out to be just what Aska needed as she soon completed her task, trilling loudly as she did several loops around Miharu to celebrate.
Flannery smiled somewhat weakly as Mike spoke, not really sure why but for some reason she got the very strong impression that he wasn't telling her everything. Even as he giggled cutely and lunged at her, causing them both to tumble to her towel she felt something was off, but she knew that trying to talk to him about it would be like fighting fire with well... gasoline. It was very hard to fight back when he tickled her like that, as he always knew just which spots would incapacitate her and leave her helpless in his arms. "You don't have to explain yourself to me," she told him, once the tickle/cuddle fight had ended. She had ended up flat on her back, with him looking down at her, that messy brown hair of his covering up his soulful green eyes. "You're you," she said simply, reaching up and pushing aside some of those unruly brown strands, "and I am thankful to have such a brave and selfless friend like you in my life." She reached up with her other arm and linked her hands together at the nape of his neck, pulling him downwards. "I don't just love you, Mike Kyoka, I adore you."
Torkoal rolled his eyes and tottered away from the two humans, intent on burying himself in the sand so he didn't have to watch them. Once he'd dug out a nice hole (that wasn't too deep; he didn't want the water seeping up into it after all) he climbed inside, using his legs to make the sand fall down around him so that only the slightest bit of his shell was visible and the tippy top of his head was poking out of the sand. Torkoal sighed, completely warm and content. Ah, perfection.
=-=-=-=-= It was hard for Purple Sparkly and Murkrow to determine how much damage their previous Wing attack had done as before they could properly assess it the little monkey was back on the attack. "Oh my goodness, Murkrow, darling!" Purple Sparkly cried as Luffy's tail hand laid the smack down onto the top of the bird's head, sending her spiraling towards the ground for the second time in that battle. With what little energy she had left Murkrow forced her wings opened and landed gracefully on the ground, wavering on her feet just before she was recalled by Purple Sparkly. "Ooh, you guys are as strong as you are adorable," Purple Sparkly grumbled, doing a flustered little dance on the spot as they swapped Pokeballs. "Now lets give that cute little thing a taste of its own medicine! Go Nuzleaf, show them YOUR Fake Out!" A small, green and brown Pokemon materialized on the field, its body not even having fully formed before it was rushing towards Luffy, its feet making no noise as it ran. It raised up its hands and jumped at the monkey, preparing to strike.
"Look at that thing go, it's a leafy ninja," Jaeshan remarked, watching the Nuzleaf out of the corner of his eye. It was the least of his worries though, as the Lombre that had been sent out in response to the fainting of the Misdreavus was a dual Grass and Water-type, which was bad news for the Fire-type Combusken. She hadn't had ample time to recover after her last attack and the last Psybeam had hit her right in the chest, sending her to the ground in a heap. Growling angrily, Combusken slowly got to her feet, her whole body trembling. She was weak, and she knew it, but there was no way she was about to go down without a fight. Just like that her whole body became sheathed in a fiery orange aura and she took a step forward, fury burning in her eyes. "Combusken's Blaze ability, all right," Jaeshan said, pumping his fist into the air. "Give 'em a Flamethrower, girl! Show 'em what you're made of!" Combusken brought her clawed hands together and took a deep breath, the air around her super-heating to an almost unbearable temperature. She opened her beak, practically screaming at the top of her lungs as she unleashed her suped-up Flamethrower at the Lombre.
Oh Kyoka, you are good. smirked Mike as he was pulled into a warm embrace by the woman he loved. He buried his head just above her chest, finding a comfortable little space near her neck. Her skin was warm and smooth, like the volcanic ash back home, except, she was much more visually appealing than a hunk of black dirt. He closed his eyes, moving to the side as to not put all of his weight on her. All the work, all the silent suffering, it was worth it just to be with her like this. I-I'd do it again. he thought. Again and again and again and again and again, just to be with her. I don't care what happens, she and I are meant to be! It's fate, destiny, and no one can take her from me, no one!! the sudden surge of emotion caused his body to shake slightly. Before he could stop himself, he had let out a quiet little laugh. It was muffled by the blanket and sand, but he was sure she'd heard it. "Sorry, heh." he said, picking up his face so she could hear him. "My back caught a cool gust of wind and it tickled." Once again, he had gotten carried away and acted weird. Shut up will ya? he scolded himself. I'm trying to enjoy myself here. Not thinking any more about it, he put his face back where it was, Flannery's very presence calming him down. He groped the sand with his right arm, feeling around blindly for his bag. After testing each Pokeball's heat, he hit the button on the front like a sleepy teenager's alarm clock, and Napalm was released. The Magby looked around curiously at his surroundings, a bit confused when he found they were still at the beach.
" 'o 'lay 'ith 'orkoal." said the muffled voice of his trainer, who was currently laying with that girl from his home. He wondered what they were doing. It was still light out, but here they slept like it was under moonlight. The Pokemon shrugged, chalking it up to humans being weird again, and walked over to what he assumed was Torkoal, now almost completely submerged in sand. It looked like it was asleep too. What was with people today? The Live Coal Pokemon knocked lightly on the turtle's shell, anybody home?
Mike smiled as he heard Napalm's summoning of his playmate. He was such a smart Pokemon. The boy twirled a bit of Flannery's hair with his finger "I'm glad you decided to come to the party today." he said, admiring her beauty from up close.
"Wow, really? Congratulations," Kasiya said, trying to remember if she knew what Lairon looked like. She didn't really know Kilik's Pokemon all that well, save for Flareon and Elekid, and she realized that it kind of bothered her a bit. Even though her first encounter with Kilik had not been a good one, she still had a liking for him. She was still trying to picture an evolved Lairon in her head as she handed the nurse Rosemary's and Adamantine's Pokeballs. After a moment or two of thought Shocker jumped up on the counter as well, deciding that the painful scratches she'd received could use some healing. Without thinking about it Kasiya reached over and hugged the mouse and planted a kiss on her forehead. "You're awesome, Shocker," she said before the Raichu disappeared in a flash of red light, and her Pokeball was handed over as well.
Nova peeked out from behind Kasiya's legs as Cable approached her, an impish grin already forming on the Charmander's face. It wasn't that she was scared of him, it was really just being in a new place. But then again, since she was a newborn Pokemon and everything everything was new. She stepped out from behind her trainer and shook Cable's hand firmly. He wasn't that much bigger than she was, but again, she was still very young. Her tailflame burned brightly as she studied the Elekid. There was something about him that reminded her of Shocker, though she was a bit young to really know exactly what it was.
Kasiya tapped her fingers on the counter, trying to pretend like she wasn't anxious to have her Pokemon back. "Yep, there she is," she laughed, gesturing to the little lizard. "Meet Nova! She's from the same mama as Nitro, so she's his little sister." It was very obvious just how excited Kasiya was to be raising a Charmander of her own; it was almost as if a flame was burning in her eyes, just like on Nova's tail. "My day has been pretty... interesting," she said, choosing the last word carefully. "I'm just coming from a battle myself actually. I helped a trainer evolve his Poliwag into a Poliwhirl." She smiled and looked back towards the door to the treatment room. Waiting for her Pokemon to be brought back always made her feel anxious.
=-=-=-=-= Nope, he wasn't sleeping. At least he wasn't now. Torkoal lazily opened one eye to peer at the Magby, and he greeted him with a slight puff of white smoke. "Kooal?" he asked, gesturing towards the sand with his head. It really was comfortable in there, although he didn't expect the energetic youngster to want to lounge in the sand with him.
Flannery giggled a bit, dancing her fingers along Mike's back, completely oblivious to the boy's inner struggles. As far as she knew, he had been upset about her not understanding that it was his nature that gave him the need to protect his friends and nothing else. She closed her eyes and decided to enjoy this moment. After all she had a day off from her duties as a gym leader and right now she had Mike all to herself and she didn't have to share him with any clingy fangirls that decided to follow him around. She scoffed mentally, not wanting to think of Mitsu and Kasiya that way but she couldn't help it. At one point both girls seemed to be quite angry with her because his feelings were for her and her alone, but she wouldn't dwell on it. If either of them had feelings for him, it was their fault for not acting on them. And besides, Kasiya seemed to be getting quite close to Keegan, which was good for him as well. She sighed, happy for both her and Mike as well as her other childhood friend. "I'm glad I came today as well," she said, nodding slowly. "It's nice to get away from Lavaridge and not be Gym Leader Flannery for once."
He let out a low whistle. "Wow, Nitro's little sister, huh?" he looked down at the Charmander and crossed his arms over his chest. "She's pretty much destined to be powerful, then, if she ends up like her brother." Kilik closed his eyes. He realized he had actually yet to battle Nitro, but from what he'd seen in action alongside him, the Charizard was definitely a Pokemon that would refuse to fall. "And you helped someone evolve? What was the guy's name?" Not that it really mattered; he was pretty sure he didn't know a single trainer who trained a Poliwag. Man, all these evolutions. Maybe it's a sign that Elekid's gonna evolve soon. He laughed quietly to himself, Though that would mean that Napalm would be, too.
Cable let go of Nova's hand and looked up at his trainer. "Ele!" he cheered, tossing his arms up into the air. He'd made a friend! With that, and a slight nod in Nova's direction, he jumped back up to Kilik's shoulder, feeling his trainer buckle again beneath his weight. He wasn't getting fat, was he? Who knew.
Kilik motioned for the girl to follow him towards the couches. His feet were hurting and sitting down would be quite nice. "Y'know..." he laughed, "I'm rather surprised this entire party has gone off without a hitch. Nothing bad's happened. Remember the Cherrygrove Festival?" he gave her a moment to think, "I mean, it was fine for a bit then Team Rocket came out of no where. Hopefully we can take it easy this time and hope they back off." The trainer propped his feet up on the small table and closed his eyes.
Kasiya beamed at Kilik's comment about Nova. She also had never battled with Nitro before, but she'd battled alongside him, and she knew that the Charizard was definitely a force to be reckoned with. She glanced down at her newest Pokemon, hoping that Kilik's prediction would be right. Nova seemed to hear the comment as well and she grinned broadly, watching with wide, green eyes as Cable went back over to his trainer. Taking a cue from the Elekid she did the same, poking at the girl's leg until she was picked up again. Kasiya was glad to oblige the young Pokemon though, knowing that eventually she would be unable to pick up Nova as well. "His name was Crenu," she said thoughtfully, smiling again. "I helped him stop a bunch of thieves from stealing a baby Tauros from a young girl, and then he treated me to lunch. He's a pretty nice guy although I do get the impression that he pretends not to be." Not unlike another guy I know, she thought fondly, still wanting very much to meet up with Keegan again. Sure, they'd spent a lot of time together over the last few days but that didn't stop her from missing him.
She followed Kilik over to the couches, sharing the need to be sitting down on something soft that wasn't a beach towel or sand. She plopped down on one of the cushions next to Kilik, managing to somehow brush the sand off of her bare feet and drawing them up next to her. Nova squirmed a bit until she was lying tummy to tummy with Kasiya, her tail swaying gently in the non-existent breeze. Mere seconds passed before the Charmander was sound asleep. One trait Nova shared with Nitro for sure - that same cuddliness Nitro had shown when he was still a Charmander. Kasiya could recall countless times when he had randomly hugged her leg just to say hi, and she smiled wistfully at the memory.
She nodded along as Kilik spoke, remembering well the chaos that was the ending of the Cherry Blossom Festival - the Rocket attack, Mitsu's plan to get her Gyarados back and how Keegan's arm had been burned. She couldn't help but think that some good had come from that injury the redhead had sustained, though. They'd definitely gotten closer because of it, although Kasiya was sure that sometimes it seemed like the scars from those burns still hurt Keegan. "You know..." she started, cuddling Nova in her arms and closing her eyes, wanting very much to tell someone about these terrible feelings of doom she kept experiencing, "I hope you're right. We deserve a day of fun, rest, and relaxation." Nah. Perhaps if she didn't say it out loud, nothing bad would happen after all. Hopefully.
Magby cooed at the invitation, and began to dig a hole for himself beside the turtle. His claws tore through it with ease; it was much softer than dirt! After a few moments he had a good little Napalm sized hole ready and jumped in, covering himself to the stomach. It was cool, but not too cool, a nice balance. He let out a long winded exhale, light colored smoke dissipating into the air. Maybe Mike and the girl had were on to something...
"I can imagine." replied Mike. "I don't know if I'd be able to keep up with those kinds of duties. All those rules, the structure, blech. I have much more fun improving myself out here." He gestured to the sky. "And while it is nice for you to be here right now," he leaned to his side, pulling her a little closer. "Somewhere more private might have been more fun." As he finished his sentence, he ran a single finger up her stomach, drawing a few circles around her belly button. It migrated up, and made a few adventurous stops along the way before reaching the base of her neck. Mike lightly caressed Flannery's cheek, shrugging slightly before finishing his thought. "But I guess that can't be helped." He pulled her into a kiss.
"You're asking me? I have less of an idea than you do." Unlike Sasha, Kirsa instead slid off the bench and toddled over to the bin to deposit the remains of her lunch. Returning to the table she plucked up her Jigglypuff once more as Hans took his place at her side, peering up at Sasha all the while. "The most I can do is list off things. We could go try and find some of the others, or go walking along the beach or the town." She tapped a finger against her chin, thinking. "...Isn't there a museum here? I don't know much about the ocean, perhaps we could go th-"
At that moment a musical tone emitted from Kirsa's pants, causing her to look startled for a moment before shifting the Jigglyplush and digging into her pocket, fishing out her cellphone with a slight frown; she knew who it was without even looking. "...Dammit. Hang on a moment, Sasha." Kirsa flipps the phone open and holds it to her ear. "Ich habe keine Zeit, Papa! Ich melde mich wieder, einverstanden?'' Without even waiting for a reply the phone is snapped shut and stowed away once more, the purple haired girl shaking her head. "Ahh...sorry, that was my Papa. I told him that he doesn't need to call me every single day, but something tells me that he's worried and is going to do it anyways."
Resuming her focus on her tall friend, Kirsa tilted her head. "As I was saying...Can we go to the museum? Or would you rather do something else?"
Ah, juvenile defiance in the face of smothering parents. It was a constant Sasha knew quite well. As it was, her Pokemon journey itself was the end result of a series of arguments between her and her parents. Her father had let it slip out that he didn't think she would be able to make it on her own, regretting such a proclamation almost instantly. Above her mother's immediate scolding of her brash husband for egging on their very stubborn daughter, Sasha practically screamed out how "it was on now!". The very next morning she had arranged with her butler to gather supplies and she left. But just like her she didn't leave out of anger, or childish retaliation. She just needed the right thing to be said to send her on her way. "Au revoir mother, father!" The rest was history.
But back to reality. Moved by her friend's irritated back-talk, Sasha put a hand on Kirsa's shoulder, leaning forward and looking directly into her eyes. "That's right, you fight for your freedom!" she exclaimed. "Don't let anyone tell you what to do, especially your parents! You are an individual, a young woman! The world is yours for the taking, and only you have the right to govern your actions, no one else!" Grabbing her Azurill doll, the young revolutionary linked her other arm with Kirsa. "Now, let us go to the museum. Onward, to education, to knowledge!" With a loud 'whoop', the two girls were off. Being of noble upbringing, Sasha had been dragged to such places of learning before. In fact, the Slateport museum was a frequent spot for family field trips. Unlike most children who were forced to go to such places, Sasha liked museums. Granted she could only stay in one place for so long, but she still enjoyed it none the less.
Prickles continued eating. He had gotten quite good at ignoring Sasha when she went on one of her crazed idealistic rants.
Kirsa blinked her ruby-colored eyes at her friend's reaction to that brief phonecall - if you could even call it a phonecall. Boy, Sasha was easily riled, wasn't she? Rather than try and interject while Sasha was on her rant, the cadet simply allowed her to make her declarations and whisk the two of them off, the purple haired girl smiling slightly the entire time.
"Papa is very liberal with me. I can pretty much do what I want. He is just protective of me, and since this is the first time I am going to be away from home for a long time....well. He is going to be alone, his only daughter is going to be out of his reach, so I guess he's just..." Her words trailed off as the pair went along, heading through the throngs of people toward the museum, unable to think of the right word or phrase to use. "...Regardless. I am probably the last girl anyone needs to worry about being able to take care of herself. I just don't want him calling every day, you know? It will only be irritating."
Hans trot along next to his trainer, likewise ignoring the two girls since it didn't seem that Kirsa was talking to him; aside from commands, anything she said probably wasn't important. The Houndour glanced over at Pickles, thinking that he preferred the Cacturne's company over that damned Elekid.
The Lombre didn't really like that, while it didn't do excessive damage to him it still hurt. Growling somewhat the Lombre, still smoking somewhat, gathered his strength and used his Nature Power which materialized as a Tri-Attack blasting forward towards the weakened Combusken. "Oooooh! Lombre you silly goose! You are supposed to wait for me to tell you what to do!" Green Sparkle spun around, he didn't seem to upset though. "Oh I love your wonderful Tri-Attack, it is so beautiful!" He practically sang.
Upon seeing the Murkrow get knocked out Robin let out a happy cry pumping her fist up into the air. "All right Luffy!" However just as she let out that cheer the other sparkle let out a Nuzleaf that started to attack right away. The attack hit Luffy causing him to stumble back. That was not pleasant! Is that what he did to all those other pokemon? Well he would just have to make sure this didn't happen again! His body wasn't responding to him right, and he hurt all over, he couldn't battle anymore he knew that. Looking over at Robin he gave her a sad look disappointed in himself for not being able to continue. Robin understood and holding her hand out to show a pause to the other trainer Robin came out and scooped Luffy into her arms. "Sorry, he doesn't have a pokeball. Either way Luffy is out." Walking back to her side of the field with Luffy in her arms Robin reached into her bag and pulled out her parkball. Tossing it out into the field she released the ever energetic Razputin who did his usually loop-de-loop upon being let out. "All right Raz! We need to show them who is boss!"
Torkoal watched the young Magby with an amused expression before settling back into the sand as well. He closed his eyes and focused his energies towards the coals in his back, the heat traversing through the sand and making for a very nice place to sleep. It was nice to not have to worry about facing trainers back home in the gym, although he did miss the stifling heat and the smell. Oh, the smell! This beach place stunk!
One thing was certain: Flannery could definitely not picture Mike being tethered to the duties of a Gym Leader. He was far too much of a free spirit to hold such responsibilities, although she figured that if he could, he would make one fine Leader. She giggled a bit and closed her eyes, enjoying the fire in his touch. "I'm sure we can manage that sometime later," she replied playfully, more than eager to return the kiss. She had been expecting at least a few cat calls and things coming from other people on the beach, but surprisingly there was none. It seemed that most people in the area seemed to be too preoccupied with their own business to pay attention to the young couple.
=-=-=-=-= If was fairly obvious that the Lombre's attack was more than enough to finish Combusken, and Jaeshan called her wordlessly, very impressed with how far she had come in the short time they'd been together. You'll be a Blaziken before we know it, he thought fondly, putting the sphere back on his belt as he studied the Lombre. It and it's Nuzleaf partner probably weren't as strong as the Sparkle Twins were letting on, and for a moment he was tempted to send out Mightyena or Butterfree. "All right Metang, let's go!" he called, tossing out the Pokeball. The Steel/Psychic type appeared in a flash of gold and silver sparkles, prompting more squeals of delight from the duo. "Don't waste any time with them, Metang! Use Confusion on the Lombre!" His command was accompanied by a gesture towards the proper target. Metang let out a high-pitched humming before a peculiar, teal aura began to emanate from his long, pointed fingers and it stretched towards the Lombre.
"Such a gorgeous, shiny Pokemon!" Purple Sparkle squeaked, the hearts and stars that were shining in his eyes were brighter than Metang's appearance in battle. His gaze turned towards the Yanma, and he frowned. "Eek, it's not as adorable as the monkey but I guess it's cute enough... either way get that bug with your amazing Bullet Seed attack, Nuzleaf!" The leafy ninja sprang up into the air, the leaf atop its head waving back and forth in its excitement. Nuzleaf took a deep breath before it opened its mouth and it began to shoot out a rapid succession of glowing seeds at Razputin.
Riza frowned a bit after the tailwhip, she didn't really know just what moves a Marill knew. She was definitely regretting not capturing the one from earlier, as she knew that Ralts was fairly delicate and probably wouldn't be able to take many hits of the physical variety. Ralts, on the other hand, didn't seem worried in the slightest. She simply watched Seymour the Marill as he bounced from foot to foot, looking around at all the different Pokemon and trying to decide which was the real one. "Hmm," Matt mumbled, scratching his chin, also trying to figure out which ralts was real. "I guess the only way to know for sure is to narrow down the field some. Seymour, use your water gun on the closest one," he called out. Seymour's ears twitched a few times as he set his sights on one of the Ralts. Once he'd taken aim his cheeks puffed out as a stream of water was sprayed out at its target. The water passed through the fake Ralts harmlessly and made a wet patch in the sand.
Riza sighed with relief at this, she didn't want to have to rush Ralts right back to the pokecenter, nor did she want to wake Sneasel from her nap. "Use your confusion on it," she told Ralts, who gave a cute little salute before she began to focus, sending out a blast of psychic energy at the aquamouse. Seymour let out a pained cry as the energy washed over him, but in doing so he had been able to see which ralts it had came from. Without waiting for another command from Matt the Marill began to run forward. Ralts cried out frightfully, doing her best to dodge but she didn't have enough time as the larger Pokemon knocked her down like a bowling pin.
