So it went down like this:
Dutch 1:Oh! Tulip!
Dutch 2:I want it more! I'll pay more!
Dutch 1:No I will!
-Soon, everyone figured out they could get rich from tulips, and the price went up and up until one day at an auction...-
Auctioneer:I'll sell this tulip for 1,000,000!
Audience:-rummagerummage-We don't have that much.
Auctioneer; 999,000?
Audience:....
Auctioneer:Oh s**t.
-And then, everyone had a bunch of useless tulip bulbs. And were poor. So they went around stomping on them for a couple decades-
Basically, just like the American recession with houses, except with tulips.
