((DUN DUN DUNNNN. ;__; Not believing you~ xD))

Lavi just stared blankly at her for a few seconds before he could no longer contain a sudden, short snort of laughter. "Okay, really funny. Good acting, though. I'm impressed." He grinned and grabbed his mug to take a sip of the hot cocoa. He thought she had been joking, under the impression that it was impossible for her to truly become a Noah. He'd never heard of that kind of thing happening before and it was like her to mess with people, although this particular joke had been a little mean.

(( XD I'm not surprised he reacted that way. ))

Liv looked at Lavi with some concern at his attitude. She was afraid that he might be in denial for some time if she didn't really make him believe her. She shook her head slowly, "I wish it were a joke, Lavi..." her voice was quiet and a little sad.

"Do you remember when I came back for my compass...? I'm sure you noticed...I was very distracted and twitchy...," she swallowed a little, looking down, "It's because I wasn't yet able to control myself around Innocence...I really had to fight...n..not to really try and hurt you."

Liv let go of his hands with guilt clear across her face. She turned her face away and looked at the far off wall, bringing her hand to her lips, covering her mouth. She chewed at one finger nervously, shaking her head again as she closed her eyes. Though she had full control of herself, the niggling feeling was still there, and would forever be in the pit of her stomach.

He'd been annoyed at first when she continued, sighing a little, but as he watched her a voice in his head told him she wouldn't joke about something like this. Not to him. His glare melted away in an uncertain frown for a second before he suppressed and ignored the voice.

"How... would that even be possible?" He asked incredulously, shaking his head a little, trying to fight back the feeling that was rising in his stomach. Maybe she wasn't joking and thought it to be true, but she must be confused and mistaken, he told himself, reassuring himself. It's true she had been on edge when she visited him that night, but he'd imagined it had been because she was technically on the Noah's side and things were still on high alert. He anxiously waited for her answer, taking deep breaths through his nose to keep himself calm, determined to find the fault and tell her she was wrong. She had to be wrong.

Liv was becoming more concerned now as it appeared Lavi was struggling with the information. He seemed to be getting angry, or frustrated at least, and she slipped from her stool to take a few steps back from him. What she was about to tell him next could easily send him into a fit of rage, because she knew it was utter betrayal to him.

Swallowing, she took a deep, shuddering breath before she continued dryly, "The fire....I'm partially responsible for the fire in the File Room. I led Jacob and another straight to it. I let them burn the place down."

Liv clenched her jaw tightly and felt her heart burn with shame. She had helped Lavi escape the Mansion with Sil, but she had also betrayed him and the rest of the Order for that matter. At the time she had put it from her mind, happy to help Jacob and Isaiah attain their goal. But now...all she felt was guilt. In a way, it was even her own fault she had become a Second Noah. It was true that they would probably have used her anyway, and would have obtained the files regardless of her help. But that didn't change that she HAD helped the Noah, betraying all of her dear friends.

"I can't explain to you...how...but it's the truth, Lavi!" she looked at him with desperation again, backing away some more.

Tears trickled down her cheeks but she quickly wiped them away. She really need to toughen up; She hated all this crying business she had been doing so often lately. With a frustrated yell she turned her back on him and slammed her fist down on the tabletop. She gripped the edge of it until the color flooded from her knuckles.

"It's never going to be the same now...," she spoke barely above a whisper.

"What?" Lavi snapped, staring at her incredulously, the news of her part in the recent fire shocking. They'd let her stay in the Order because she was their friend and they trusted her not to reveal any information to the Noah, and now she had led two of them straight to where they stored all of their files on everything they knew. He shook his head in disbelief and gripped his knees tight, his knuckles turning white.

His hands left his knees to run through his hair with a frustrated grumble, all she was telling him crowding his mind. When she slammed her fist on the tabletop he inhaled sharply, watching her back with a considerable frown on his face, his hands still tangled in his hair. The fire was completely forgotten when his mind finally accepted that she was telling the truth, however much he tried to deny it, the idea that she could be an actual Noah a thousand times more shocking and betraying than the fire and he could still hardly believe it. It still sounded incredulous to him, unsure how it had happened, but he knew she wouldn't be acting like this if it wasn't true.

"Jesus, Liv... what have you done?" He finally whispered after seconds of silence as he had been trying to come to terms with what he'd just been told, his voice shaky and his hands slipping further into his hair as he lowered his head, staring down at his lap. His breathing became more audible as he slowly inhaled and exhaled in an attempt to stay calm. He lowered his hands and slowly slid off the stool before stumbling to the door. He had to be alone to deal with this, as far as that would be possible. He was still in the shocked phase where it hadn't really hit him yet, but the realization was slowly rising up in him, making him feel sick. He looked back at her once more, leaning against the doorframe.

She was right. If she was telling the truth, things were going to change drastically. Before, she had been on the sidelines, but if she was truly a Noah now, whether they wanted to or not, they could be forced in a situation where they would have to fight each other and Lavi didn't think he'd be able to do that. It broke his heart to think that he would really have lost her to the Noah, that they would be enemies, and he had to take a sharp breath to keep a sob from escaping his lips. "I... need to go." He croaked, feeling for the doorknob, his eyes closed to try and control the sick feeling rising in his stomach. He just had to get away from her for now and hope his memory would for once in his life fail him and he could forget this conversation ever happened. Denial was soothing.

Liv turned to face him quickly when he asked what she had done, as if it were her fault. He of course had no idea that it had been forced upon her, that she had been changed against her will. She would never admit to him that she didn't completely dislike what had happened, either, but she could easily show him that she was wounded. And in reality, she was to an extent; She forgave the Earl for what he had done to her, but that didn't change that her feelings on the matter were still up and down.

"I didn't have a choice, Lavi! They did it against my will! They strapped me down in a ******** LAB!!" she yelled at his back as he fumbled for the door, frustrated tears now trickling down her cheeks, as opposed to the sad ones that had flowed before.

"Ple-ease don't hate me," she shook her head, hiccuping a little as she wiped her face again.
